How? Nixon shoulda stayed home. Da Bushes were up to their necks in pro-China pandering as was Slick Willy, Obozo, and Biden. All aided and helped China become the threat it is today. They sold U.S. out.

  • G.O.P. Bill Adds Surprise Tax That Could Cripple Wind and Solar Power

“This is how you kill an industry,” said Bob Keefe, executive director of E2, a nonpartisan group of business leaders and investors. “And at a time when electricity prices and demand are soaring.” The bill would rapidly phase out existing federal tax subsidies for wind and solar power by 2027. Doing so, many companies say, could derail hundreds of projects under development and could jeopardize billions of dollars in manufacturing facilities that had been planned around the country with the subsidies in mind.

Unless you are living in a remote area away from public utility power, Solar and Wind are a rip off. Taxpayers and utility rate payers should not be subsidizing the Solar and Wind Con Game being done to us under the farce of renewable energy. It's all a fleecing of the people now supported supported by the Green Cult. The Cult stupid enough to support it or otherwise those corrupt enough in elected office to get kickbacks to support it.

Some of my dads uncles on his fathers side {granddads brothers} were from Cowley County, KS. My granddad lived in Oklahoma and moved to Knoxville, TN back in the early 1920's where my grandmother was from. She had moved to Oklahoma to live with her sister a few years. They moved to Knoxville before the Dust Bowl hit.

The year before we went to Alaska we went north up into Ontario and crossed Canada to British Columbia and down along the coast. Got to see Banff and Jasper and a side trip into Yellowstone visiting family in Wyoming. We stayed out of Cali though. I went there later in the early 1980's driving an 18 wheeler into LA.

I took a vacation in 2019 out west & went through Black Hills then Yellowstone. It was early June and Nebraska and Dakotas were already and oven LOL

LOL nothing more fun than a cab ride in the Naples Back Alley Grand Prix. I got to see Mt Etna {not erupting} from Naval Air Station Sigonella back in the late 1970’s. In all reality Taranto has to be the armpit of Italy though. Hated the place.

From the cremation of Sam Magee, one of my favorite Robert Service poems. My favorite being “The Three Bares”.

When I was 16 my dad got a camper cover for his pick up truck and built three bunks in it for a trip to Alaska from the Knoxville, TN area and back. Almost a month long trip living out of the camper and a motel room about every third-fourth day.

We went through Dawson City and saw cabins where Service lived and Jack London. We made it to Fairbanks and stated heading back. I got to see Lake LA barge {government sign naming it such} old gold dredges, Mt McKinley, Anchorage, and back home to Tennessee. Three years later I would be "seeing the world" as they called it starting with a trip down to Rio and back, to the Med Sea and back twice six plus months each. Then after that managed to see every state but Hawaii & Maine.

I remember in Alaska waking up and seeing a moose about 50 ft from the truck. This was in June so it didn't get dark.

Give me back a pure sugar cane RC and a big Moon Pie. Coca Cola is becoming so Yuppie oriented you have to read the bottle or can carefully now to get a so called original taste Coke. Their stupid naming them makes matters worse. I wish all companies would end their use of corn syrup and return to cane sugar. BTW side story on Dr Pepper. Older bottles used to say Good For Life on the labels. Goobermunt made them remove it.

I believe that is indeed the third one they have lost on this deployment. And in the modern era, that is a lot. And I am as anti-DEI as anyone...more so. But in high tempo operations, we are going to lose planes and pilots. Could be a streak of bad luck. Or it could be bad maintenance or flying.

Assets vs Irons in the fire has been placing a strain on deployments dating back to when the Ships Force downturn began after Gulf War One when two presidents and their SECDEF's went decommissioning happy. Your ship and mine were basically pushed to early graves by missed downtimes and likely declined or put off critical maintenance that could only be done in a shipyard setting.S.L.E.P. was not done on mine. Instead they put her to sea on her last two deployments she had no business making. Her next to last one had an explosion in the boiler that sent her cold iron to NNSY where it was band-aided and deployed again. This happened upon arrival back from deployment while she was securing at NOB.

Remember also immediately after the 9/11 attacks we had two CV's that failed to lightoff because of such issues. That would have been nearly 10 years after the cutbacks had started. We have been going at war time paces in one place or another since Gulf War One using with a Navy that has been cut to bare bones. It has to take a toll on equipment as well as crews.

Our entire military needs upgrading and Congress needs to properly set realistic End Troop Strengths on active duty. My next sentence is in Caps because it should be shouted "CLOSE PIER 11 TO CARRIERS & REOPEN MAYPORT AS A HOMEPORT". Way too many assets in too small a space. Having half the CVN fleet in port at the same facility is far beyond stupid and approaches criminal negligence.

We saw what Ford/Carter years did and served under that mess. It took Reagan's team several years to get things back in order only to have GHW Bush, DEFSEC Cheney, Clinton & DEFSEC Perry to dismantle it. I am very surprised more losses don't occur.

When the two carriers failed lightoff after 9/11 two Captains lost their command due to an issue caused by idiots in the Pentagon not approving maintenance. Nothing gets done in a shipyard without a specific request that takes months to be processed & approved or deferred until later.

Considering who and what has been running the Pentagon and DC in general the last four years I'd say many issues likely need attention. If they aren't going to up the carrier fleet size meaning the CVN then they need to build more Amphibs and figure a way to keep their birds re-fueled for more distance.

There was something going on with the A-6’s in that timeframe you speak of so bad that they had a stand down Navy wide on them best I remember. We lost a couple while launching. They’d launch go a few miles or less and drop. AMERICA was in the MED Sept 77- April 78. Then went back in early 79 and were back at the states when we went on alert over the Iranian Hostage Crisis. WE had lost a MMR and generator on a post deploment carrier qual trip out before entering NNSY for overhaul in late 79-Oct 80. We weren’t going no where with those issues.

That's life on the small city. Equipment can fail so can people. I had been onboard my ship a few months and we were off GITMO i think doing work ups. CNO, SECNAV, and possibly DEFSEC were onboard during night flight ops. A Tomcat came in too low and snapped the landing gear. Pilot and second seater punched out just before it went off the angle. They were unharmed. Another time I think someone operated a red tagged HB door at elevator 3 sending one Tomcat into another almost nose to nose.

The worst and tragic one we lost a S-3 and crew during night ops. It landed but something went bad wrong either on the arresting gear and it went on the angle and dangled there. The crew tried to pop out but by then the plane had one across the top of the water the other into the ships hull. No survivors. More happened but those are the ones I remember. I was ships company an A-Div snipe. I was below decks when these happened. One last tragic one I remember was during a re-spot a chalker was run over by a Tomcat and killed the guy. Ships go to sea and people die or get crippled. These events I mentioned were in the late 1970's.

I know my EAOS is almost 30 years ago, but we weren’t allowed to moonlight while serving. Have things changed since then?

Back in the 60's & 70's in the Navy it was allowed. My uncle was O4/O5 Gator Freighter {LST} Captain. That was in the mid 60's mid 70's. He owned a service station in Virginia Beach. I was in from 76-80 and knew guys including an E6 MM1 moonlighting as a locksmith. One of our weather techs drove a Taxi when off duty. It sounds like your C.O. may have prohibited it.

Redemption/salvation from sins is by Grace by profession of faith in what Christ did to purchase our pardon and pay our eternal punishment for sin and all sin we do. Sammy was very fortunate he accepted The Lords's offer and had a last opportunity to do so and wisely did so. It is not wise to gamble and say to ones self I'll accept Christ before I die. You may not have that chance.

Folks in the Justice of sin a lie is as bad as murder. You break one commandment you stand guilty for breaking them all and stand condemned to hell unless you accept Christ and repent.

Only GOD knows if his profession of faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is/was genuine. If so then yes he met the requirements of salvation.

Now, this however does not pardon or relieve him of the earthly consequences of his actions. Jesus Christ can and will remove sin and desire to sin when we pass from here into the next world as sin will not enter heaven.

Over half the New Testament was written by a man who hunted down Christians and either had them killed or placed in prison. Jesus had other plans for him {Paul}. The Bible recognizes and separates Biblical sin and it's required punishment and the punishment of the governing authorities. Two thieves were hung beside Jesus. One repented and accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior the other did not. They both suffered the penalty of earthly punishment. We who believe are offered Grace for past, present, and future sins, until we are dead. But we also still live under government. What I am saying is this. Jesus pardoned the repenting thief but the Roman law condemning him for his crime stood.

We’re in the thick of thunderstorms and tornados now here in the Knoxville - Oak Ridge area. Just lost power and the generator switched on.

One or two formed up in Loudon and one headed to the northeast up towards my way but thankfully never touched down. It went over Oak Ridge and Clinton and then was tracked going between the 116 & 118 mile markers on I-75 near Raccoon Valley Rd exit. I live northeast of there about 2 air miles. We had a couple pops of lightning and that was it. Two plus inches of much needed rain fell here from this front so far. That section of I-75 between Emory Rd and Raccoon Valley Rd is it's own little weather maker.

The Tennessee Valley region thanks to a change about a decade or more ago at TVA may soon see flooding we won't forget. Flood Control was the main selling point back in the 1930's to create the TVA. Three major rivers French Broad {flowing from North Carolina}, Holston from Virginia, and the Clinch including Powell river flowing out of Virginia to the tennessee river.

To appease high dollar developers and lake from property owners on the rivers especially Clinch and Powell rivers forming Norris Lake, TVA has been hold water at high pool level at or 20 ft less than late Spring full level. Well Norris thanks to the front that just came through which wasn't even a biggie has now filled the lake. Meaning the upper tributary dams built for flood control will already be full when Spring rains hit. Norris should be below 990 ft elevation.

As of tomorrow night Norris Lake will be 1024 or 4 ft above full pool level usually happening by June 1st from Spring rains. Your government at work TVA is a federal agency. Norris never was dropped below 1000 ft this winter. Don't want them rich mansion owners seeing those clay winter level lake banks now do we?

In 1985 I worked in a medical facility. Actually it was a former TB hospital that had been converted to a nursing home except the top floor still had TB patients. TB can be inactive and become active which is why patients who have had it are tested at least once a year. As well the workers were tested. I worked my first week not knowing they still had active TB patients. I was a maintenance mechanic.

A bigger threat today is in many nations this isn't your grandparents or great grandparents TB it's a stronger strain due to people mainly in 3rd world not completing treatment and that allows it to become medication resistant. That is the threat. Run of the mill TB in the US due to testing and proper treatment protocol is not a big threat like third world cases.

Using saltwater to fight the wildfires could have a major negative effect. The saltwater contamination could prevent grasses from growing in the sprayed soil. No grass or weeds and you get mud slides. A viscous cycle, wildfire or mudslides, just like always in California.

With their kinds of fires nothing grows back because of topsoil erosion. Answer? Find salt thriving vegetation to help reclaim. My bet is after a couple of rains the salinity levels would drop substantially anyway.
