When are Republican legislators going to walk the walk? I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.

A Different Christmas Poem The embers glowed softly, and in their dim light, I gazed round the room and I cherished the sight. My wife was asleep, her head on my chest, My daughter beside me, angelic in rest. Outside the snow fell, a blanket of white, Transforming the yard to a winter delight. The sparkling lights in the tree I believe, Completed the magic that was Christmas Eve. My eyelids were heavy, my breathing was deep, Secure and surrounded by love I would sleep. In perfect contentment, or so it would seem, So I slumbered, perhaps I started to...

I've been reading so many posts from FReepers who said they are not going to vote or will vote for a third party to "show Republicans that I don't support their actions." Quite frankly, I am very disappointed in many of the actions of Republicans who are supposed to be Conservative. By nature, I am more of a supporter of the Constitution Party because the United States Constitution is what makes America unique. All else is secondary.Regardless, when I think about the larger issue, America's security, I cannot bring myself not to vote for the Republicn party. The Constitution party will...

Several years ago, I met an officer who flew A-10s. He directed me to a site that depicted the support crew that made certain that his aircraft was combat ready. Can any of my fellow FReepers direct me to the A-10 support-ready Warthog site? Mechs checking the nose cannon, loading ordnance, etc. I'm attempting in gettin my 23 year old son to enlist in the United States Military, serving America in in whatever capacity he chooses. His eyesight is not flight-sight certifiable, but he is a big, strong intelligent kid!

I'm considering buying a new skeet gun. The one I have was my father's and does not fit me as it should. Also, I currently have the selection narrowed down to: Browning, Ruger, and Charles Daly. Any other ideas?

If Jim pulls a thread, or closes it down; why is it still visible at sign on to FR? I spent about ten minutes refuting a DUmmy, and when transmitting the response, the response was, "Thread has been pulled." Oh well.....

When I was growing up (I'm 53) when I made certain comments as a young man, my Dad (yes he was wealthy but certainly not a snob - at home he looked like a farmer - except at the office) said you have to practice "nobless oblige." The way he explained the term was to bend your personality to the indivdual with whom you are conversing... Listen to the laborers thinking, words and listening skills; and respond on his level. On the flip side, when you're negotiating a $50m contract with a supplier, then the conversation changes. That said, is there...

In a news conference today with Bill Clinton, Clinton awarded Albert Gore the Sphincter award of the century. Of course Clinton has been working on his legacy and has been successful in getting his name in America's history books as Stainman. Mrs. Clinton has been working diligently in working with Janet Reno as Dyke Man. The one left out of the foursome is Tipper Gore. She's been very tight lipped since Al always seems to try to... at least on camera. We expect Thyme and Newswreack to break this in their next Monday editions.

Why does the media refer to our President of the United States as, "Mr. Bush?"The folks on Fox News still refer to President George W. Bush as, "Mr. Bush." President Bush is our American President.

My wife and I, both age 52, will be travelling 09 March from ERW to CLT. We will have two carry-on bags for a five day personal business trip.Based upon past travel experiences with screeners, we plan on setting them up for a photo op. No, not like the whacko this week. We will have a copy of Amendment IV of the United States Constitution with us. I will pass security first, and after I've had my 150 lb torso wanded, patted, and poked; Karen will be ready to walk through the magnetrometer tunnel. Concurrently, from a far distance, I ...

My husband gave me a new computer (Dell Dimension 2100, 1.1ghz w/ 30gb DASD) for my birthday. He said that I should do "housekeeping" on the hard drive to keep "crap off the hard drive." Can I delete ALL of the .TMP files on my hard drive? I regularly delete "Windows Internet Temporary files" but have not deleted the *.TMP files in the Windows folder. Is there risk?

Fellow FReepers,I seem to remember a recent phrase from W that he would "hold the cards (war options) close to his vest."Does anyone else remember this?I'm trying to map a letter that I sent on 02/09/02 to W to this statement. If I'm correct, then I'd say that some of our mail is effective, and actually pushes up to W.Following is what I sent to W: Dear Mr. President, At the Olympic ceremonies this evening, you again, displayed that you are a gracious man. A man who loves his country. Thank you, Sir. Please "stay the course" and do not ...
