Open Response to the NYT Editorial Board: (pay attention, liberal politicians) The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution was written with a clear purpose, as was made apparent by the written contemporaneous statements of the Framers. The purpose was two-fold: secondarily to provide the means for effective self-defense, but PRIMARILY to keep in the hands of citizens the means to overthrow an oppressive government. The curfew for East Baton Rouge Parish is still in effect from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Baton Rouge Police Chief Jeff LeDuff said Saturday. I just had a conversation with a Ham Radio operator in the Netherlands. At his request, I will not identify him here. He states that the situation there is very tense, with anti-muslim sentiment and violence rising daily. According to this gentleman, very little of what is actually hapening is making it out into the International News Media. He reports that Dutch Lawmakers are being heavily pressured by the citizenry to halt further Muslim immigration entirely, to deport non-citizen Muslims, and the jailing of anyone encouraging Islamic radicalism. Mrs. clee1 and I are pleased to announce the birth of the newest FReeper, Baby Girl clee1 ! She was born at 8:59 PM EST, and is our first child. She weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces and was 18 inches long. Mother and baby are doing well.

I urge all freepers to see the story of a brave Iraqi teenager, known as Steve-O. See the link above for the full story. This fine young man turned in his own father and numerous Iraqi insurgents to US Forces. I will be contacting Senator Zell Miller and Representative Phil Gingrey tomorrow, urging them to introduce special legislation granting this fine young man immediate American Citizenship.
