“It has been an honor to serve the people of Colorado’s 4th District in Congress for the past 9 years,” Buck said in a written statement. “I want to thank them for their support and encouragement throughout the years. Today, I am announcing that I will depart Congress at the end of next week. I look forward to staying involved in our political process, as well as spending more time in Colorado and with my family.”

…… “Everyone in the House Chamber knew something that the American people have yet to fully grasp and Republicans have yet to demonstrate an ability to combat – that their government has grown so large, so complex, so involved in virtually every aspect of their lives, that it is now being used as a weapon to by a small segment of the ruling political class. The weaponization of government is happening and it's time Americans took notice. For all the folks - primarily on the left – who screamed and yelled that the Patriot Act was shredding the Constitution, far...

A team of Special Air Service soldiers who were surrounded by Taliban hordes in Kandahar have been rescued in a dramatic desert operation. Around 20 elite SAS troops were left stranded in the province hundreds of miles from friendly forces when the militants took over. As enemy fighters closed in they sent an SOS request to Special Forces bosses back in Britain calling for immediate extraction. But they could not use Kandahar airfield – once home to 26,000 international troops at the height of the military campaign – because it had already been overrun by Taliban. So the SAS soldiers...

I have a dream! O’Biden has decided to not only destroy the Southern Border but to also allow hundreds of thousands of holier than thou Illegal immigrants into the US. O’Biden is using his military to fly them all over the US without testing or informing local communities. Wouldn’t it be amazing to have O’Biden’s military fly in a few hundred, nay a few thousand, untested holier than thou illegal immigrants into Martha’s Vineyard to welcome O’Biden’s 500 guests and wish O’Biden a Happy 60th Birthday? Now that is an O’Biden 60th Birthday Party I would enjoy! Like I said,...

Kasich: It's 'hard to say' if I'll support Trump (Then he support Hillary Clinton) It's "hard to say" whether John Kasich will support Donald Trump, the Ohio governor said Thursday, adding that it's "absolutely" possible he could go to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland next month and not endorse the billionaire businessman. "Hard to say," the swing-state governor said of whether he will back the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. "If you look at Twitter, they have this thing called 'trending.' It's trending poorly."................ Kasich said he knows what the U.S. needs in a leader -- or rather, what it...

The abstract for the study summarizes the research findings: A random survey of 100 representative mosques in the U.S. was conducted to measure the correlation between Sharia adherence and dogma calling for violence against non-believers. Of the 100 mosques surveyed, 51% had texts on site rated as severely advocating violence; 30% had texts rated as moderately advocating violence; 19% had no violent texts at all. Mosques that presented as Sharia adherent were more likely to feature violence-positive texts on site than were their non-Sharia-adherent counterparts. The leadership at Sharia-adherent mosques was more likely to recommend that a worshipper study violence-positive...

News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch, in a discursive speech Monday evening, blasted Secretary of State John Kerry and attacked the left for creating an "identity crisis" that he charged has undermined American strength and fostered terrorism around the world. And he drew a connection between U.S. foreign policy and domestic culture, arguing that “in recent years, there has been far too much institutionalization of grievance and victimhood."

UPDATED with additional stats: According to Nielsen Fast National ratings data, CNN’s Democratic debate averaged 15.3 million total viewers last night. That would make it the sixth-biggest nonsports cable telecast in history. In the 25-54 demographic, the faceoff among White House hopefuls averaged 4.8 million — the most ever for a Dem debate. CNN’s Ashleigh Banfield bragged on-air this morning that her network’s debate drew “a higher number than the season premiere of The Walking Dead.”

An Internet address originating from the Department of Homeland Security was tied to entries made on the Wikipedia pages of North Carolina Rep. Renee Ellmers and California Rep. Kevin McCarthy, alleging that the two Republicans were having an affair. It is unclear if someone at the federal agency actually was behind the edits, which were first noted by Washington Free Beacon reporter Lachlan Markay. But both changes — McCarthy’s and Ellmers’ — show that a user at the IP address, 216.81.81.85, made them on Thursday. That address comes from DHS’ offices in Springfield, Va. An alleged affair between McCarthy, the...

REP. CHARLIE DENT: The next Speaker should not appease those who make unreasonable demands. There are a number of members of our conference. You cannot get the yes on anything. For them the end will be the good. In my view it's come time to marginalize those members who doesn't want to be part of the governing majority. I've said for some time that in order to pass anything out of the House we need to assemble a bipartisan coalition whether it's on the continuing resolution, the debt ceiling, we will have to assemble a bipartisan coalition. That's the reality...

Who can replace Speaker of the House John Boehner, who announced Friday he’s quitting? Almost anyone. Maybe even you. This isn’t a comment on the job Representative Boehner has or has not done in his role as leader of his legislative chamber. It’s meant to illustrate a little-known fact: Under the Constitution, the speaker does not have to be a member of the House. He or she doesn’t have to be an elected lawmaker or government official. The speaker can be an ordinary, private citizen. In fact, there really are not any legal restrictions on qualifications for that office. The...

Retired Army Sgt. 1st Class William Kotel said this was done in an attempt to paint a rosy picture of the coalition's efforts in the Middle East. "They left key information out of intelligence, such as attacks," Kotel said. "The idea was that Al Qaeda was decimated, so therefore it wasn’t part of the threat analysis that should be submitted higher." Kotel said that is very critical information that is important to the nation's safety and security. "The chain of command and higher don't see a clear picture if we leave intelligence out, especially about attacks and any kind of...
