  • Health Care Reform vs. Universal Health Care (Health care is a need, not a right)

As always, the Democrats confuse "rights" with "entitlements".

I have a "right" to own property. I am not "entitled" to a condo on the beach.

I have a "right" to marry. I am not "entitled" to marry Miss California. (Darn...)

I have a "right" to see a physician when I think I need to. I am not "entitled" to have someone else pick up the bill.

But that's the first thing about "National Health Care": getting someone else to pay the bill. The second, of course, is control: eat your peas and carrots, or the System won't pay your bill. And forget that frosty one...

William von Dreele, Poet Laureate of National Review, once wrote a response to Teddy's Great Adventure, which ended with this couplet:

"If I'd gone off that bridge, I think,
I'd write these verses in the Clink."

    (So would all of us.)

Teddy, you shameless (not safe for work), in the next life, you will meet Mary Jo, and she will ask you one thing: "Why?"

    Enough.

In 1994, the GOP ran honestly. (No details needed.)

The "Class of 1994" was elected on a narrow, clearly defined platform, which included a balanced budget, and especially term limits.

    Term limits.

And so in the late 1990's, they produced a balanced budget (which, of course, Wet Willie and the Forces of Perversion took credit for), and then, having delivered said balanced budget, they term-limited themselves out and left Washington DC for the civilized parts of the USA.

They left over the years 2002-2004, and were replaced by The Opportunists, who ran on the then Honorable Brand of "Republican".

    Thanks, Whores, for 2006.

OK, the brand is damaged, but not by Republicans. Just by the Opportunists of post-2000.

Fortunately, the Democrats are like the old French royalty, aka the House of Bourbon, of whom it was said (after the Revolution): they had forgotten nothing and learned nothing. What a target-rich environment there is in 2008, for a political party that has a clue.

The word "Senator" comes from the same old root as the word "Senile", as in Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer.

    John McCain??

Seriously, I smell Hillary in this.

Consider: every candidate who had done the necessary spying (the Clintons being, of course, Master Spies)(at least on their American opponents) knew about this, including the GOP candidates (about whom more later).

Bill took one for the cause: he's now Persona-non-Grata (sort of). But he succeeded: Obama went from around 50% of the black vote to 90% and the white vote similarly went to Hillary.

So it was now Time to Drop the Bomb.

ABC, which was always Bending Over for Bill, did the Dirty.

So Hillary will win very much on the dirty.

Now, McCain etal knew all this very well, but of course vouldn't use it during the primaries. Had Obama ("Half Honkey, All Donkey") won the Jackass nomination, the "Reverend" Wright's hate speech would have hit the Prime Time immediately.

It has only hit Prime Time now in that it gives advantage to Her Heinous.

    Just speculation...

All of this is the stuff that exits the south end of a north-bound horse.

We have untold resources in uranium; we also have several Persian Gulfs' worth of oil in the ground, not only offshore or in Alaska, but in those oil shale deposits in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and even North Dakota. All of this can be accessed with off-the-shelf technology. No science-fictional breakthroughs are necessary.

Alcohol-based electricity generation represents desperation, not advancement. It is less efficient (and dirtier, in the long run) than either nuclear or hydrocarbon-fueled electricity generation. Not to mention fuel for cars.

Don't buy into anything Sheik al-Gore is peddling. It isn't even good drugs.

When I was in high school, my economics teacher referred us to a book entitled "The Coming American Fascism" (published 1932) by one Lawrence Dennis as the book to see for Fascist arguments.

I subsequently attended the University of Chicago (before Obama) and went to Regenstein library to look at Dennis' book (there weren't any available to me in small-town Midwest). The political science-economics section of Regenstein was then in the sub-basement(!) but I found the library copy; it read a lot like Ralph Nader. But next to it on the shelf was another work by the same author, "Is Capitalism Doomed?", published in 1930. Inside the front cover, someone had pasted a pocket and in said pocket was an old, yellowed copy the The Daily Worker (the official paper of the US Communist Party). On the front page of that issue, there was a rave review of Dennis' work by none other than Eugene V. Debs, the then perrenial Presidential candidate of the CPUSA.

Fascism and Communism were never true enemies; they were alweays competitors. Hitler called his system "National Socialism"; Stalin called his "Socialism in One Country".

There ain't a dime's worth of difference between the two; the only difference is who gets to rule. The rule will be the same in either case.

Hillary is really in a bind. She can't truly go Medievel on Obama; if she does and gets the nomination, the blacks won't vote for her, and no Democrat can win without them.

But on the other hand, Obama is likely roadkill in the general election. Not because of race or religion, but because he's a product of the Chicago Democrat Machine. That's an instant turnoff in the Midwest outside of Chicago, and I'm sure someone (probably Hillary) is sitting on a load of dirt. No one connected to the Daley Machine is ever clean (just look at current Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich). And through Rahm Emmanuel, the Clintons have their own Daley connection.

    What a mess!

    1) President Fred is better than my screen-name.

    2) As for the Iowa caucuses and their meaning, just ask the former winners in Iowa, Bob Gephardet, Bob Dole, (and who won the GOP in Iowa in 1980, it wasn't Chairman Ronnie).

I Am Legend: Conservative movie of the year.

"The guys who are trying to screw up the world never take a day off."

Evil is presented as real, unappeasable, and not susceptible to reason or sentiment; it can only be fought, to the death, if necessary. (No "touchy-feely".) But a redemptive and optimistic ending.

    Yes, and the poor puppy.

While I still appreciate you, let's find love, while we may,
Because I know I'll hate you, when you are old and gray,
Say you love me, here and now; I'll make ther most of that!
Say you'll love and trust me,
'Cause I know you'll disgust me
When you're OLD and getting FAT!
