What is the black vote?

What exactly is a black vote?

I am an African-American female. I am registered as a Democrat. Guess what? I am voting for George Bush.

As an African-American, I have conservative values. I am pro-life and I support the war on terrorism. I feel Bush handled the 9/11 crisis well. I like the fact that he supports marriage and family. I am also glad that he is not afraid to speak out for what he believes in. I believe he consults God about the problems of this nation and that's the type of man I want to handle this country.

Re: "Kerry's versed in poetry, moved by dance," Other Opinions, March 9.

According to Maureen Dowd, John Kerry did not hide the fact that he was reading "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" on his flight from Boston to New Orleans, perhaps because the view from his ivory tower is such that we plebeians are not so familiar with the likes of T.S. Eliot.

  • The Hidden Significance of Names

Since history began, the Chinese always believed in the significance of one's name. They have developed a very comprehensive system of naming one's children as it is believed that the name of a person strongly influences one's destiny and fate. Astrologers, fortune tellers, academics and monks are consulted when choosing a name for the new born. Most other cultures, however do not really believe in it and tend to brush it off as superstition. Whether you believe it or not, however, the other cultures are not spared of this correlation. One very good example is Lee Iacocca, whose name IACOCCA...

The Tears Of Finding The Truth Through The Internet INTRODUCTION The following story occurred on the Internet through one of the chat programs (Freetel) in January 1999. It is a real dialogue between a Christian and a Muslim. The story centers on Derek's realization of today's Christianity and his subsequent conversion to lslam. This Christian-Muslim dialogue has been edited for readability and for the clarity of its message. ABDULLAH: Hello there! How are you man? DEREK: Hello! Well, how are you? ABDULLAH: I'm fine and you? In the December 24, 2001 edition of FORTUNE Peter Lewis writes: ,"Of all the new technologies of 2001, XM Satellite Radio is way, way, way above the rest. It's the first major advance in radio since FM emerged in the 1960s, and the best thing to happen to mobile music since the dashboard CD player . . . ,"If you spend a lot of time on the highways, you'll never go back to listening to stations that fade in and out and don't play your kind of music."

Egyptian diplomats said President Hosni Mubarak plans to raise the level of representation between Baghdad and Cairo to the level of ambassador. • Chris Matthews tries to shut up Pat Caddel

There was just an incredible exchange between Chris Matthews and Pat Caddel. When asked about the effectiveness of Gore's remarks tonight, Caddel really opened up about the fraud of selectively recounting votes. He also referred to Congressman Markey's comments a few minutes earlier as the most incredibly racist thing he had heard in ages. (Markey insinuated that Republicans were attempting to prevent African-American votes from being counted.) Chris Matthews got really flustered and cut Caddel off before he could finish his point.

Brokaw just had a piece on the felons and noncitizens who voted in Florida. The piece showed at least two nonqualified people who voted and cited a major problem with the voting roles. I don't like Brokaw, but this piece was good.
