I never liked the guy in the first place. One can only wonder what he would say about someone he doesn't claim to like.

Oh, there are about 75 threads on the GD board--They're obsessing over this and how it's going to be "the thing that finally brings the * administration down".......just like the obsessed over the Gannon story was going to be THE thing.......and before that, how they were so sure that the Valerie Plame business was going to be THE thing.......and before that.......and before that.......and before that.......--

To tell the truth, I rather enjoy watching them flit from one "This is HUGE" story (or, when they're really excited, it comes out "This is HUGH".......I've always wanted to meet Hugh.......) that's going to "blow this administration WIDE OPEN" to the next, frantically beseeching their numbers to "DU" one meaningless online poll after another, constantly calling their senators and congresspersons to heckle them about the crisis du jour and writing endless letters to the editor of the Podunk Times--Small wonder the Democrats never get anything of any import done!--C

Now I know how I'll finally make my first million--I'll be a light-up valet at the cabstands and limo waiting areas outside the "Arrivals" doorways at O'Hare offering a flick of my Bic at a buck a pop--And the best part of it is.......I CAN SMOKE ON THE JOB!--

    Cool!!--C

Oh, I don't take them seriously about 99.999% of the time, either--But I do know that they'll do their best to flood DishNetwork with phone calls and e-mails in what will probably be a futile attempt to get them to drop the Pentagon Channel and I'd just like the Dish folks to know, if possible, that there are at **least** as many people who support and even applaud their airing this info for the benefit of those in the military and their families--

And, by the way, thanks to all here who have been so nice to me on this thread--A great example of a classy bunch of folks (no matter **what** Hannity says) and I appreciate it!--C

I tried, but it wouldn't allow me to post a link to anything on DU--It's a thread in the General Discussion forum, currently on page 2, titled "ACTION: Pentagon Channel and Dish Networks- CALL DISH"--

Or.......is there a way I don't know about to post a link?--I'm big on following rules and don't want to ruffle any feathers around here--It's an important resource and I'd kinda like to not get booted out of here--LOL!!--C

Re: The MSM picking-up this story

They may get backed into it--This is pure speculation on my part, of course, but I can't help sitting here and wondering what the subject matter of the still-to-be-released Swiftees' TV ads might be--And I don't mind saying that I'm enjoying the speculation immensely!--C

I agree--The President was off his game tonight--I do think he won on substance, but on "style".......delivery, if you will.......I just can't give him high marks--

Senator Kerry, OTOH, did right well for himself, at least when one considers that he had little or nothing of real merit to say--

This is round one--Guess we'll just have to see how numbers two and three go--C

Funny you should mention that thread--I have some friends, a couple, who were still a little on the fence but leaning toward voting for Bush--One of the things that they said is that they (like me) are terribly disturbed by the incredible level of divisiveness in the political arena and were musing about the President's vow to be a "uniter, not a divider" and how we're more divided than ever--

I gave them the URL for DU and suggested that they read a few random threads over there and then ask themselves if these people sound as if they have even the slightest desire to be "united" or to work together on anything whatsoever--When I talked to them earlier this evening, that thread and those about how they're planning to leave the Country when the President is reelected were some of the ones that they said stood out most starkly to them--

I should mention that they're no longer anywhere near any political fence vis-à-vis this election--Gotta love the way them thar DUers keep making my points for me!--C

Actually, the "tax the rich" statement was this morning in his interview with Diane Sawyer GMA--Would love it if W was to call him on one more change in his story but there's over 20 hours between now and the debate and Heaven only knows how many more there'll be between now and then--

Being a cat lover, I'm really, really sorry to hear about the kitten thing (despite the fact that I'm new here and am apparently somewhat out o' the loop as to what that's all about)--C

I could swear that he said before that he voted against it because he wanted it to be a loan to be repaid by Iraq--I guess that was the flip because this nonsense about not doing it unless taxes are raised on "the rich" is most definitely a flop--C

This book had a relatively limited audience in the first place--Those of us who know him for what he is would read it and the undecideds who want to know would read it, as well--

And then there's the ABB crowd who don't want to know anything that might question the man who is the alternative and the far lefties who just plain don't care--And finally, those who just aren't interested--

Frankly, while pleased, I'm rather surprised that it stayed No. 1 as long as it did under the circumstances--Be that as it may, however, the Swiftees launched yet another new TV ad today--Gotta love those guys!--C
