Truly a sad comment about the inhabitants of our major population centers in MT. As a Conservative rural MT voter I sure hope we have the votes to defeat the vegans. I also wish we could get rid of the miserable Canada wolves that have been forced on us by misguided Liberal environmentalists. Don’t get me started!

It bothers me when Social Security benefits are lumped in with “entitlements”. I worked full time for nearly 40 years and had no choice but to pay into SS. A late in life divorce by a unfaithful spouse has left me with little. I fully intend to start receiving SS at age 62. I cannot wait until my benefits reach their maximum. I am very fortunate to have a pension after working for the same employer for 32 years, who downsized my group and moved our work to contractors in India. I continue to work part time in the small community with a lower cost of living to which I retired. If I live long enough my total benefits received will make up for the discount of taking them early.

I recently read Ron Paul’s Liberty Defined. He is correct on so many of the topics he addressed. He has integrity and is not swayed by public opinion polls. He stands for constitutional limited government. I support Ron Paul. I am grateful for the important ideas that he has introduced into the public forum during the debates.

  • Congress to Vote Next Week on EXPLICITLY Creating a Police State

I read the pertinent sections of the Senate Bill when I first heard about this being voted on. I was suspicious since it was the ACLU posting the warning. I read and re-read sections 1031 and 1032 and sadly I was not sure if military detention/rendition applied to U.S. Citizens or not. Makes you wonder how Congress can vote on these bills when they are so cryptically written or maybe that is exactly the point. If the wording is unclear that makes it open to interpretation. In any event, reading the darn thing did make me feel even less safe than I did before.

Restraining orders are worse than worthless. My husband built a phoney case against me and got a restraining order that kept me 200 feet away from my home and my three small children, including our infant son, for 10 days, until I could get my case heard in court. Of course, the order was vacated, but he replaced it with a gag order where I was forbidden to tell my children anything about what had happened or why. During the ten days my three small children were cared for by his paramour. So in my case, a law that was supposed to protect the innocent and law abiding harmed those innocent and law abiding, my children and me, and yes, I realize that those poor souls who are physically harmed suffer more than I did.

Disappointing, I can’t sign in to the abc site. It said I could use my Twitter login. I did that and it says I am connected, but I still can’t manage to vote, so now I am trying to register with abc. No dice there either. It just sits and says Processing .. Please wait. Maybe they are just overwhelmed. Calling was just repeated busy signals. Oh well.

Ah, ha, now the light comes on. I was trying to follow this thread and not understanding it. I have been a member of Free Republic for nearly 12 years, but was not acquainted with the Blog concept. Your mentioning trying to increase the number of hits on someone’s Blog as the purpose for posting just an excerpt makes sense now. Thanks.

When my 20 year old daughter suggested that there was more to the collapse of the twin towers than just being struck by planes full of fuel I thought she was off base. When she said she felt that our government was just as complicit in 9/11 as they were in Pearl Harbor, I tried to correct her. Now seeing how our liberties are disappearing and how the Muslims and illegals seem to receive preferential treatment, and having it take over a year to get all of the permits required to put a gravel path on my property to walk down to the lake, I tend to agree that my government is my enemy.

I am going to Florida from New Jersey for Christmas and then out to Montana after that. I will be driving. I am not a criminal and I don’t intend to allow myself to be treated as one. My heart goes out to the people who don’t have the time to make these long drives but have the need to travel. The people most likely to be the terrorists are receiving preferentail treatment, only head and neck pat downs indeed, while we, the innocent American public are being humiliated if we choose to take a flight.

  • Are the Usual Suspects Behind Boycotting “Sarah Palin’s Alaska”? You Betcha!

I have always wondered how the number of viewers was calculated. Do cable companies supply statistics on what their customers select to view? I thought in years past when we received our television signals via the air waves, you had to have a set top box of some type to gather this information. Just curious.

I fully intend to view every episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaska. I like her, I agree with what she stands for, and I also like Alaska having just visited there recently.

Oh my. How disturbing! I am sorry to hear that your vacation was negatively impacted by inconsiderate people. I live in New Jersey and stopped going to the beach years ago because the quality of people who frequented the public beaches was so upsetting to me. Sounds like it has only gotten worse.

I went to a Home Depot on my way home from work the other day and I felt like I was in another country. I heard very little English being spoken and unfortunately people were rude and aggressive. Even in my workplace, as a white American woman, I am distinctly a minority and some of the apparently foreign born men are most discourteous cutting me off to get on the elevator first, letting doors slam in my face. Our parking lot is littered with fast food wrappers that they must just push out of their cars. Sorry for venting, but I am just appalled by what is happening to our society. Legal immigrants are welcome when they come to contribute, but it seems we are attracting more people who are here to get rather than give; people who not interested in assimilating into our culture. Many seem to think nothing of breaking our laws and mistreating others. It all makes me angry and sad.

We need to tighten up our borders and return to unfettered free market capitalism. Cut the entitlements. Less government is better government.

I feel so sorry for my children to have to live in a culture such as ours is becoming. My 20 year old works in a pharmacy and she tells me stories of the rude, disgusting, defiant, and sometimes violent people who come off the nearby interstate highway into her store. Calling the police is a nearly daily occurrence and we live in the NorthWest portion of New Jersey, which is relatively rural compared to the rest of the state. I have purchased land in a remote area of a Western state and as soon as I can sell my home here we are getting out. I just have to hope this craziness is not universal in our country.

I am doing my best to retire early and move out of the metropolitan area. It is already like the 3rd world here. I feel so out of place. I sleep with a loaded gun under my pillow. I want to move out West to the wilderness. I already have the land. Just have to make sure I can live on whatever I have been able to stash away during my working years. I imagine I will be working part time even in my so-called retirement. Can’t bank on social security being there even though I have paid into it steadily for the last 40 years. This whole get something for nothing mentality that the democrats cultivate is frightening to me. I agree it will most probably end up getting ugly and I want to be far away when it does.

It saddens me to hear anyone describe this fool as some sort of hero. His behavior was poor and I see no excuse for it. Many take abuse from rude people during their workday and unfortunately it is just part of the job. He was being paid to deal with it, not freak out and throw a fit and swear at the plane full of passengers and then run away. I understand that plane will be out of service now while the emergency chute is replaced. I am sure that will inconvenience some innocent people.
“Pissy homo throws hissy fit” is exactly right !

Stinks to be a family member when an addict family member breaks into your home and steals whatever she can quickly convert into her next hit. If I could catch her entering I would have her arrested so fast her head would spin, but, of course, your family member usually knows your schedule, especially if you work for a living and have to go to an office five days a week.
