Los Angeles-based affiliates of the Sinaloa cartel, the organization once helmed by infamous drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, have partnered with underground banks in China to launder more than $50 million, authorities say.

Hey head of Home Land Security Mayorkas get your head out of your fanny
You must be joking.
He’s part of the cartels. He keeps them in business.
Nothing to see here.. Move along.
The ‘war on drugs’, which like other recent wars we haven’t won, is the main reason why we no longer have bills bigger than $100, and why the government has the power to investigate you any time you move more than $10,000 or even try to bypass that reporting requirement by moving smaller amounts. Our money and financial privacy is no longer our own.
And the rest of the story is they worked hand in hand with our nation's premier antagonist to do it.
This s**t has been going on for years. The cartels own 10% of the businesses in the LA area not to mention those paid off in D.C. and Sacramento.
What’s the bigger evil? The Mexican cartels or the Chinese banks enabling them
Do not forget 10% for the big guy
El Chapo story from old Daily Mail:
A longtime Mexican drug cartel boss loved gourmet food and would creep down from his mountain hide out to indulge at elegant restaurants - and pick up the check for the entire establishment in exchange for their silence.
Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán even managed to buy off prison staff enough to enjoy decadent food while behind bars, throwing parties for his favored inmates that featured alcohol, lobster bisque, and filet mignon.
The biggest evil is the ordinary drug user, without whom none of the mess would be possible.
Since they represent sharply different evils, that might not be an appropriate question. However, China certainly presents the larger threat. [;^)
Sacramento is crooked as they come! When I left P&CSD in 1993 I’d been saying for years “when the good guys are indistinguishable from the bad guys - we know we’re in trouble!” It’s only gone downhill from there. Soon there won’t be any good ones left. They aren’t safe around them, and who’d want to be associated with any of them even if they were safe?
