Verify The Recall has announced a new registration on its website that will allow individuals who did not sign a recall petition to be notified if their name or address is found on a recall petition! After all of the recall petition information from the GAB is entered into our database, the "No Sign" Registration list will be immediately checked against the recall petition data. Anyone who signs up for the "No Sign" Registration will be alerted that their name (or address) was found on a recall petition. That person will then be responsible for filing an individual challenge against...

Summary: It’s official, Adobe is putting its future mobile video efforts behind HTML5. So, do you really think that desktop Flash will survive for long? Adobe’s love affair with its Flash format has come to an end. Oh sure, Adobe said they were just killing development on mobile browser Flash in favor of HTML5, but seriously, do you think, that they’ll keep working on Flash on the desktop for much longer? If you do, I have a nice, lightly-used bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you. No, the end of Flash is in sight and HTML5 is now the...

I was thinking about the election day debacle coming up. I don't like all this early voting nonsense, especially since you don't have to show ID to vote in all 50 states. 0bama telling everyone just to take the day off is ridiculous also, but I do support the idea of election day being a holiday. Finally, it just hit me. Since everyone in America owes their freedom to vote to our Veterans, why not move Veteran's Day from November 11th to Election Day. Make sure to keep calling it Veteran's day, because we owe it all to them, but...

One of the most notable incidents from Tuesday's State of the City address occurred even before the mayor's speech began. After the Pledge of Allegiance, Rene Marie was introduced to sing the national anthem. But that's not what she sang. Martin actually sang the tune of the traditional national anthem with the lyrics to "Lift Every Voice and Sing." It's a song some have called the National Black Anthem, the Negro National Anthem or the Black National Anthem. Once she finished performing, there was a moment of awkward silence and then the crowd gave her mild applause. Marie said she...

WASHINGTON (AP) - House Speaker Nancy Pelosi rebuked a fellow San Francisco Bay-area liberal Friday for what she said were "inappropriate" comments about Iraq during a congressional debate. During a debate on children's health care Thursday, Rep. Pete Stark accused Republicans of sending troops to Iraq to "get their heads blown off for the president's amusement." Condemnations rolled in from Republican politicians, right-leaning bloggers had a field day, and a White House spokesman declined to "dignify those remarks" with a response. Pelosi issued a statement Friday evening rapping Stark, who is in his 18th term representing the liberal East Bay....

Hoping someone can help me with hotel suggestions. I may be attending a training trainig in early May in Arlington, very close to the Crystal City Metro Stop (Blue/Yellow Line), but I hear that area is expensive. Looking for a cheap, safe hotel further out that I can use the Metro for.

Thank The GOP! It seems that lately we are more apt to criticize the GOP for not doing things the way we'd like... Now we have something we ought to thank them for. Show your thanks to the GOP for supporting President Bush's nomination of Samuel Alito, and helping to make his confirmation possible. Send them a donation ending in $.58... $10.58, $20.58, $50.58, $100.58, etc. etc. Remember, tonight when you prepare to watch the State of the Union, Samuel Alito will be walking into the chamber with Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Roberts... Without President Bush and a Republican majority,...

Ananova: Man peed way out of avalanche A Slovak man trapped in his car under an avalanche freed himself by drinking 60 bottles of beer and urinating on the snow to melt it. Rescue teams found Richard Kral drunk and staggering along a mountain path four days after his Audi car was buried in the Slovak Tatra mountains. He told them that after the avalanche, he had opened his car window and tried to dig his way out. But as he dug with his hands, he realised the snow would fill his car before he managed to break through. He...
