Urging people to follow low-fat diets and to lower their cholesterol is having “disastrous health consequences”, a health charity has warned. In a damning report that accuses major public health bodies of colluding with the food industry, the National Obesity Forum and the Public Health Collaboration call for a “major overhaul” of current dietary guidelines. They say the focus on low-fat diets is failing to address Britain’s obesity crisis, while snacking between meals is making people fat. Instead, they call for a return to “whole foods” such as meat, fish and dairy, as well as high-fat, healthy foods including avocados,...

Add the ketogenic diet to the ever-growing list of monsters under the beds of those suffering from climate change hysteria. Apparently all of the bacon and butter we consume is going to KILL EARTH: Admittedly, I didn't even know I was a steward of the planet until I saw that. It has been humming along for well over four billion years without any stewardship from me so I am not sure what my function is here in this role. Should I be wearing a uniform? Is there a stewardship manual? Business Insider: The world cannot run on bacon and butter....

This is a speech by Bridgitte Gabriel, who is a Christian and grew up in Lebanon. When she grew up, she was taught to hate Jews just as Muslims are taught the same. Then when she was still young, her mom was injured during a firefight with Israel, and both of them spent time in an Israeli hospital, and Bridgitte quickly found out that she had been fed total lies about Israel. She's also an Arab, so she knows all sides regarding the Middle East (Muslim, Christian, and Jewish), and has quite a few things to say about Islam, similar...

Rebecca Parker Mankey, the woman who confronted a 74-year-old man who was wearing a "Make America Great Again" hat inside of a Palo Alto Starbucks, has been reported as missing by authorities. According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, Mankey did not return to her Palo Alto home after a trip to Lake County, and is believed to be in Aberdeen, Washington. The Aberdeen Police Department is assisting the Lake County Sheriff's Office in attempting to locate Mankey, whose cell phone information activity placed her near Aberdeen around 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Melissa Demyan, a friend of Mankey's, wrote on...

13:59 4/19/2019 Some Thoughts on the Mueller Investigation [Vanity] Now that the report is out, some of the stuff that didn't make sense at the time is starting to make sense, at least to myself. Here are a few things that came to mind: 1. Why did the investigation drag on for well over a year after Muller's people had concluded that Trump didn't collude with Russia? Answer: As long as they were 'investigating' or at least claimed to be doing such, there was no way that Trump could 'prove' that he didn't collude with Russia - they wanted that...

CONCORD, N.H. — The New Hampshire Supreme Court, in a unanimous ruling late Friday, kept in place through the Nov. 6 election the voter registration forms used by local officials in the past several elections following the enactment of a controversial law tightening voter identification requirements. A lower court on Monday blocked the state from using the forms required by the 2017 law known as Senate Bill 3, ruling that the law – and the forms – were confusing and imposed “unreasonable and discriminatory” burdens on voters. The law, passed by Republican lawmakers and signed by Gov. Chris Sununu, requires...

This week’s White House Report Card finds President Trump still riding high after the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court and buoyed by reports that Democrats have not locked down control of the House. Democratic pollster John Zogby, who gave the president a B+ in this week’s report card, said that it is “nearly impossible” for the Democrats to win the Senate. And worse, he said that winning the House remains “elusive” despite predictions that a “blue wave” will give the Democrats a nice majority cushion.

(snip) Eight years after California adopted new standards designed to boost students’ critical thinking and analytical skills, it’s become clear that a critical group was left behind in the push to implement Common Core: parents. The good old days of memorizing math formulas or multiplication tables are gone. Instead, Common Core math requires students to show how they reason their way to the right answer. As a result, many parents say homework is far more complicated than it used to be. For example, the right answer to 3×5 isn’t just 15 anymore, as one popular social media post noted. It’s...

Amazing 30 minute interview on front lawn of White House.

Seven years ago, Amol Yadav announced to his family and friends that he would build an aeroplane on the roof of a boxy apartment building in the teeming Indian city of Mumbai. Incredulous friends and family members asked the young pilot how he planned to bring the plane down once it was complete. "I really don't know," he told them. Mr Yadav, who flies twin-engine turboprop planes for a living, is nothing if not obstinate. The five-storey building, home to his 19-member joint family, didn't have a lift, so they lugged factory lathes, compressors, welding machines, and an imported 180kg...

Good morning people, A few of things to keep in mind about the violence yesterday: 1) The NAZI / KKK / Alt Right / White Supremacists / Trump Supporters (whatever you want to call them) had a legal permit to march in Charlottesville. 2) The march was peaceful until the 'counter protesters', the people without permits (the Bernie people), showed up. 3) The police were ordered to stand-down, by the government - hence the violence was intentional. One Leftist that I know says that the easy way to avoid the violence is to not permit the NAZIs (and similar groups)...

Political leaders across the West piously lined up last week to identify the fall of Aleppo as a stain on our collective conscience. The West, they have said, should have done more to stop the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Syria. At a purely humanitarian level, this is obviously true. States can always do more to deliver humanitarian aid to people on the ground. But in a military sense, the notion that the West should have “done more” is fantastical and learns exactly the wrong lesson from this carnival of carnage. If there is a lesson for the West from the...

This is what happens when you chop a nation in half. Before December 3, 1971, Pakistan was a country suffering from a split personality disorder. When British India became independent in 1947, the country was divided into Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan. The problem was that East Pakistan and West Pakistan were almost a thousand miles apart, and wedged in between them was archenemy India. Imagine if the United States only consisted of the East Coast and West Coast, and Russia controlled all of North America in between. Thirteen days later, Pakistan had been amputated. Indian troops had conquered East...

Maybe it's time we wake up a bit. 1) Trump won by narrow margins in 3 states. 2) Podesta came out and said it's not over 3) Hillary and Obama soon after came out and said it is over 4) We were all happy and figured the rest of the effort to get Trump into office was just a formality 5) We stop worrying about watching the ballots and the machines 6) The Dems go dark, nothing from Hillary, Podesta, Obama questioning the election 7) Stein files for recount, we all (me included) say it's just a joke, a fund-raising...

This election isn't about me, it's about the America that you and I love, and that will disappear under a Hillary administration. For you gun owners, she will immediately lock-down the Supreme Court the first day she takes office, by appointing the 5th radical gun-grabbing justice. The Second Amendment will no longer exist, and steps will begin to confiscate guns from legal gun owners, with or without the help of Congress. Now they will deny it, but it will be no different than in every other country where her side has gained absolute power - your guns will be very...

Only days after Judy Hanttula came home from the hospital after surgery last November, her doctor's office called with bad news: Records showed that instead of traditional Medicare, she had a private Medicare Advantage plan, and her doctor and hospital were not in its network. Neither the plan nor Medicare now would cover her medical costs. She owed $16,622. -- snip -- Hanttula said she ignored all mail from insurers because she had chosen traditional Medicare. "I felt like I had insured myself properly with Medicare," she said. "So I quit paying attention to the mail."

Just over a week ago, as the Rules Committee was meeting prior to the Republican National Convention, the last chance for the GOPe to stop Trump came and went. The goal of the NeverTrumpers was to get Trump off the ticket, and by any means. What happened next, with Trump gone, was of no concern to them, for they feared Trump more than they feared Hillary or any other Democrat. And that is nothing new - to them the Democrats are like opponents in football, they mean well, they're just on the other side (perhaps misguided a bit politically). They...

Yes, we will likely survive 8 years of President Obama, but the country does have a BREAKING POINT. And we are there. Losing one more election tips the Supreme Court into Democrat hands (along with what’s left on our side on the lower courts). At that point our side will simply have NO RECOURSE to stop Hillary. Congress has already been reduced to an ‘advisory’ role by Obama - he considers the laws passed by Congress to be suggestions, open to his interpretations, with his right to enforce, re-write, or ignore as he wishes. With the courts in their hands,...

Often here we're put on the defensive, such as when there's a mass shooting in this country, particularly with an unfriendly administration. They know all the answers - if we want gun violence to end, we need to eliminate guns (at least from law abiding citizens). If cops don't want to get shot in cold blood, perhaps they shouldn't shoot blacks in cold blood (he didn't exactly say that, but the message seems to be something like that). And the list goes on. So how about if we help. Let's list out a few 'suggestions' for the president to calm...
