This just in from our news desk in Palm Beach County, Florida ... Senior citizens from across the county claim they picked the wrong numbers on their lottery tickets. Many were told by the local state representative that their tickets were collected and "tossed aside as losing tickets". Demands from the upset seniors that they get to re-pick their numbers for last week's drawing resonated from the growing crowd as the only fair way to right this injustice so that their choices would be counted. Regarding the chad issue and the manual counting, ballot counting must be completely objective and use rules as they existed before the count. The only way you can objectively confirm a voters intent is if his ballot card is "clearly and cleanly punched", as the instructions state. You have to assume that the voters followed the instructions that they were given. All other conclusions are purely subjective speculation. The actual Palm Beach voter instructions states: "AFTER VOTING CHECK YOUR BALLOT TO BE SURE YOUR VOTING INSTRUCTIONS ARE CLEARLY AND CLEANLY PUNCHED AND THERE ARE NO CHIPS LEFT HANGING ON THE BACK OF THE CARD" Isn't there a legal obligation of voters to follow the directions, or their vote doesn't count?
