"Sure Juan is a Liberal but I once heard him say he takes the Liberal position on topics where he may disagree because his job on that show it to air those positions"

    Surely you jest?

I would like to see President Bush give a nationwide speech, updating the War on Terror, its goals, the Iraq front, what lies ahead, our detention policy.
He does that .. he has been giving speeches about the WOT and different issues during the week .. for the last several weeks .. FNC has aired them"

It's interesting -I don't know whether the person who is frustrated with the President is a liberal or not. I'm certainly not but I am frustrated. What I find interesting is that I have not have time to be on this site lately. I also don't have much access to Fox (not cable here and I'm off the treadmill for a while, which gave me access to Brit Hume). So, my news has been mostly radio. So, I will make it my diligent duty to reconsider my recently formed views about Pres. Bush -as a Pres. I really love the man. Thanks for showing the other side.

The media is successfully and gleefully recreating the dynamics of the US defeat in Vietnam. Wear down support for our effort.

"President Bush appears weak, timid and indecisive. I supported President Bush's reelection and expected a strong second term performance.
He might as well put out a white flag. If he can't communicate, he needs to identify a point man in his administration who can utter a coherent sentence.
If on 9/12, I could look into the future and see that in the year 2005, we would be concerned about the handling of the Koran, I'd be shocked.
I'm depressed by Bush and his administration."

Totally agree. He is a good man but he was elected to be a good President. I was stunned at his closing Gitmo comment. I was really upset about the illegal immigrant problem and, I'm really upset about his giving all of this money for aid in other contries. Aid in other countries -they are now cutting reasearch budets, which will most likely cost me my job in a few years. What about "charity begins at home"? Anyways, there is a lot I'm upset with him about. We say he is a poor communicator. That does not cut it. He was a good enough communicator to be elected so what is going on here?

"What gets me is that Juan is really an intelligent liberal (if there is such a thing), but he allows emotion to overcome rational thought. 'Course that's what all liberals do."

What? This has to be your Christian thought of the day!

"really can't stand this guy. He is the epitome of today's Democrat: arrogant, self absorbed, deceitful, and consumed with a hatred of anyone with a Christian outlook.
That is right on. The lefts hatred of spirituality isnt even hidden anymore.."

How true! We watched a program on the life of Martin Luther this week. Absolutely fascinating. At the end, my husband stated that he felt that the left hate people of faith because in the end they act according to their conscience (paraphrasing -he's more eloquent than I am!). That makes them hard to control and unpredictable. In other words, they answer to someone greater than themselves not to the left, who thinks they are the ultimate.

Can you place me on the Canada ping list. This ruling is great -I look forward to hear the discussion at my family reunion in Quebec in July. I only have one brother who practices in Quebec -the others practice in Ontario where it is illegal to do private work.

Anyhow the health care system at work: a 50 year old woman in Canada (won't say which Province) will be dead in three months because her doctor did not do an x-ray when she had pneumonia last fall (she is a smoker). Her lung cancer progressed too much since then. She is a very wealthy woman who goes to one of these clinic for the poor (what is that in Canada since there is socialized medicine) -not sure what her reason was. They have waiting lists for x-rays I gather and are so overwhelmed that they did'nt bother. Really sad.

You know, I was saying to my husband that I was soooooo glad that we had not donated any money since the election. We both decided that we wanted results before giving again. Their solicitation always attempted to rile us against up against the Democrats -we felt that the election took care of the outrage. It was to time act and they failed.

Same here. I always have a peek while at work. I have been refusing to give money period. Except, I have not even bothered telling them why -I've been too angry at them and have been considering opting out of even knowing about the issues. I guess ignorance was bliss. -but it was not have much fun as being with freepers. I'll write back a note next time I'm being asked for money.

Please, all of you, describe in great detail. Won't be able to see these shows today. Relying on you guys for the exchanges. Great job so far!

Question -I am rather new at politics (two years or so). How can you stomach what is going on. I get so upset that I have to give myself time out periods. I am so utterly disillusioned with this this group of people that all of you have worked so hard to support and elect. Is there anything more to it than that the rationalization that the alternative is unacceptable?

This is really great....our tax dollars at work.

First off, I am going to encourage my son to apply for status as an illegal alien (ops, I meant to say undocumented worker, sorry for the non PC slip-up) With this status, he can:
A: get a drivers licence with no hassle.
B: get lower tuition rates at the state Universities
C: get medical assistance for free

SURE BEATS THE HELL OUT OF BEING AN AMERICAN CITIZEN...DOESN'T IT?

How true -how true -how true. As new Citizens, my husband and I wonder whether we would not have been better off as illegals. But, we are white, we speak English, we are educated, so we are unqualified for that elite status.

This is the first election in which we ever participated in. We both feel that it will be the last. I get phone calls from the repub party regularly for money -for this? This is it. No more money -no more votes.

Could'nt agree more. My mother is from Murray Bay (La Malbaie) and I spent every summer of my childhood there. Would recommend a vacation to Quebec and upper Quebec without reservation.

Proviso: do some research on their current attitudes towards Americans. Even with my half Quebec blood, I would not recommend spending a tourist penny there if I am welcome as a US Citizen.

"nuclear option" -we should not use language in a way that is laid out by the democrats in a profoundly anti-right way. If the phrase is used at all, it should only be used to refer to the illigal use of the fillibuster. Remember that Stalin said that step one in controlling the country was to gain control of the press. He knew a very simple truth; control the words people use and you control their thinking and their subsequent actions.

Beyond that, I have no strong feelings on the matter!

Pessimistic? Nooooo, realistic. They really have a good dog and pony show. What goes on in private -only they know. Hopefully they are honest with themselves and each other.

I love CIS Vegas and watch it every week -my Thursday night break. Miami is too late - I'm like W, got to get my rest. CSI New York is too weird -there are images that I don't want want implanted in my brain. So Alias is about as racy as it gets for now, I guess LoL.

Now that is THE best show on TV. This year, though, I decided to wait for the DVD to come out. Can't wait to see the season.
Re 24 -is this a guy thing? I can't watch that -I end up wired, eyes spinning, and can't sleep for the night. I'm not even able to watch the DVD. Someone I know says his wife reacts the same way. My husband breezes through it!

"Actually, to split a hair, evolution is a "fact." A fact is something that is either true or false, as distinguished from an opinion. Evolution, indeed, the entire materialist view of life, is either true or false; therefore, it is a "fact.""

Your statements amount to a perfect non-sequitur. A fact is something that IS. The subject of a false statement is not a fact. A theory is a hypothetical account that awaits experimental confirmation. Evolution, at best, is a theory -and apparently, not a very persuasive one since 70% of the membership of MENSA are of the opinion that it is not merely a theory but a mistaken theory.
