I have two sisters that were adopted by my parents while they were living in Cambodia. While one of my sisters has completed the immigration process, my youngest sister is still in limbo. A year ago, the INS suspended visas for all adopted children originating from Cambodia in a misguided attempt to stop the trafficking of children. Of course, as most Freepers are aware, the trafficking of children occurs in many other countries. Yesterday evening, Congressman Bob Filner, who was on his way to the El Centro INS Detention Facility to see a deportee, blew through the security checkpoint at the entrance to the INS and Border Patrol stations. The entrance to the INS Detention Center has a large stop sign requiring everyone to stop so that they can be inspected by the INS agent manning the checkpoint. Knowing what a voracious appetite Freepers have for timely and accurate information, I tried to provide a running commentary on the developments of our mid-night operations yesterday. The heavy volume of illegal alien traffic made it difficult to provide any commentary at all. At the beginning of shift which started at 10 pm, our processing area was filled to capacity with illegal aliens. I just started my shift as acting supervisor. At 11 pm an hour after starting my shift our processing area is already filled to capacity with illegal aliens. We already have two smuggling cases that involved three smugglers/guides with a total of 30 smuggled aliens in three vehicles. The smugglers are being set up for prosecution (8 USC 1324). As was reported on an earlier thread. A smuggler driving a van full of illegal criminals killed a US citizen in effort to avoid Border Patrol Agents manning the check point near Campo, California. Sadly, this could have been avoided. Agents like myself that work the line knew this was going to happen. It was just a matter of time. If you thought the INS/Border Patrol was inept before, you haven't seen anything yet. Johnny Williams and his political appointees have created a mess of Western Region. First off, as a Border Patrol Agent, I'd like to say I'm very proud to serve my fellow freepers on the border. As a Border Patrol Agent, that also makes me a Jack Booted Thug according to some. For those of you that are interested, I have summarized some of the policies and regulations concerning the US Border Patrol in El Centro , CA. 1. Agents are not allowed to chase loaded vehicles that break traffic laws.(ex. Going 1 mile over the speed limit.) 2. Agents are not allowed to chase vehicles into residencial areas. 3.
