The Border Patriots
Self | 11/13/01 | Ajnin

First off, as a Border Patrol Agent, I'd like to say I'm very proud to serve my fellow freepers on the border.

As a Border Patrol Agent, that also makes me a Jack Booted Thug according to some. This interpretation of federales is understandable given the past eight years of the Clinton Administration.

As a lurker, I've read a number of articles pertaining to Federal Agents. These articles have made me wonder if Freepers know just how many allies they have in the Federal service. These articles have made me think that perhaps Freepers have limited access to reliable sources in the federal service. If this is the case, then I'm willing to provide as much information as I can, to help my fellow Freepers understand such controversial issues as immigration. Something I missed..... Free Republic has caused a ripple effect. As a lurker, I have garnered quite an education, which has influenced the way I enforce the law. Because of Free Republic, I have become a Constitutional scholar and a beacon of reason to my fellow Border Patrol Agents. Free Republic changes minds, Free Republic changes attitudes, Free Republic Forever!

Don't worry about the "Jack Booted Thug" thing, most Freepers are very supportive of LEOs.

Be careful out there.

Please don't misinterpret people here - I know I appreciate the job you do at INS. To me, JBTs are usually folks like ATF and the DEA that tend to prey on Americans. What we don't appreciate are the ridiculous orders and guidelines that you are forced to follow - rules that were most likely made during the 'toon years. The frustration level must be very high, as you are obviously one who takes your duty as an American seriously.

In fact, there are many of us who would like to help the INS do its' job - even volunteering - whether at the border or reporting on illegals already here. What we need are laws that get these people out of our country, and keep them out. The rules need to be followed by the courts. After all, how many have you caught multiple times?

Honestly, I'ver never hear that said about Border Patrol Agents. I'm not saying it's never been said, but most folk's complaint with the INS has to do with the failure of will from DC.

You folks have nothing but my highest respect. Living in Laredo for many years, I've witnessed first-hand the kind of working conditions Border Patrol agents deal with on a daily basis — hot, dirty, sometimes tedious and boring, occasionally terrifying, and almost always thankless. Fighting an endless revolving door of illegal aliens has to get a little discouraging at times, but believe me, most of us are very thankful for the job you do. My hat's off to ya!

Worth repeating. This has happened to a lot of people around here (substitute other careers or brief job descriptions in place of "border patrol"). Please continue to let your fellow agents know that they have our support and admiration for the efforts they make on a daily basis.

How many have I caught multiple times?

(Sigh) I couldn't even begin to count.

The usual day for an Agent goes something like this.. The Agent drives to the border, catches a group of illegal aliens and takes their biographical info. If they are Mexican, they get what is called a "VR" or "Voluntary Return". Within two hours the aliens are back in Mexico. Aliens that are other than Mexican go thru a removal proceeding when they request a voluntary return to the country of origin.

I agree with just about everything on that thread. Unfortunatley though, the USBP in Cali' is starting to fall into that role of social worker also, although not to the extent of the INS Inspectors.

Thanks for caring enough to put your life on the line for us.
Thanks for caring enough to study the Constitution.
Most of us who live near the border understand that you guys are working with your hands tied behind your backs, and we greatly appriciate that you keep trying anyway.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks for being there for us and stay safe.

Not all conservative freepers hate our government. I have a severe problem with the politically correct pink panty wearers who have invaded our government agencies during the X42 years. Our FBI/CIA have been deballed, and their good agents started to leave in droves after X42 and Jake Reno started to destroy those agencies in 1993!

Two of our best friends have a son who is an agent going on his second year with your group!

Keep us posted on the changes as your agency returns to protecting our country instead of being the welcome wagon for new demonicRat voters as per your past director/leader under X42!

Thanks for what you are doing for us and stay safe out there!

I really don't know anyone who thinks of our Border Agents as jack booted thugs, according to all that is reported, your agency has managed to turn back a million illegals a year at the border and only a mere 100,000 to 200,000 manage to get through, that is some record given your limited resources and constraints. We appreciate all of your agencies efforts on our behalf, the thin blue line.

I guess my first two questions would be are these reports true and are these statistics valid? Because it seems to me that many towns and small cities across Amercia are being over run by illegals to the point that some cities are being asked to be "test cases" of tolerance, pardon me while I barf.

I would also like to know how many invaders of other than Mexican/Spanish origin try to cross the border in one year. How do you feel about having the military on the border?
