The interviewer told me that if I was a black female with a hispanic surname it would tick three boxes and regardless of qualifications she’d hire me in a minute. In the 1950s my Dad owned a large retail bakery in Atlanta. I started working there summers, Saturdays and holidays during the school year. My first job was as porter’s assistant. I learned to clean, scrub and wash every pan, piece of equipment, floors, benches, you named it, I cleaned it. I was 11. My Dad’s crew were all black. After several month’s of portering I was given to Hambone ( no joke), he was the Master Baker. First thing he taught me was how to make coffee. Every Monday I had to go down to the supply shed a the Southern rail yards and by a 5 lb bag of No.1 roasted coffee beans paid for out of petty cash. Then I had to grind 1 lb. of beans and then clean the grinder. Fill one gallon enameled coffee pot to the full mark and put in 3/4 tin cup of ground coffee. Bring to a boil and immediately cut it back to a low simmer for 5 minutes. Remove it from the heat and drop in the white of one egg slowly stirred round just 1 time. This was to be done by 5:30 AM and every time the pot got down to the grounds. Made no more coffee after 2:00 PM. Work day was 4:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Learned to drink strong black coffee with chickory when I was 11. Never been able to drink it any other way. I could go on about Hambone and the crew for hours. They were like brothers and sisters to me. I never heard one of them cuss or use the N-word. They all attended church. They were some of the finest people I’ve known. They still fill my heart with joy to this very day and bring tears to my eyes as they have all passed now.

These women need to get together and nip it in the bud. If they are harrassed or sexually assaulted by one of the transgender freaks 8 to 10 of them, or however many it takes, need to get a pair of pinking shears, hog tie the culprit, and do a Lorena Bobbit on him. That happens a couple of times and word will get around - keep it in your holster or you’ll have a frilly dilly.
