Authorities arrested one man and are seeking a second suspect in an unusual double shooting in Bridge City. Darnell Phoenix, 21, of Bridge City, is accused of shooting a 42-year-old River Ridge woman who had armed herself to retrieve her son, whom Phoenix was holding at gunpoint, according to Glen T. Boyd, spokesman of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office.
