Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi is asking the Florida Supreme Court to rule on same-sex marriage in the Sunshine State. On Monday, Bondi filed an appeal with the 3rd District Court of Appeal asking them to consider ruling on allowing gay couples to marry in Florida.... "Until recently, the issue was squarely before the United States Supreme Court, and it appeared that a definitive answer was coming," wrote Bondi. "Several certi-orari petitions from several states asked that court to take up the issue and rule. Even those who had prevailed below sought Supreme Court review. The United States Supreme Court...

In 2008, Florida voters amended their state constitution to define marriage as a union between a man and a woman. In response to a recent challenge to this provision, and in keeping with my sworn duty to uphold the laws of the land, my office recently filed a legal brief defending the voters' decision.

A Sanford judge today ruled that Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi does not have to answer defense attorneys' questions under oath in a mammoth Internet casino gambling case pending in Seminole County. Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr. made that ruling this morning. The case involves more than 50 defendants, accused of violating the state's gambling, racketeering and money laundering laws by operating Internet cafes that prosecutors say served as storefront gambling parlors. Each had ties to the non-profit Allied Veterans of the World, a group that provided charity to military veterans but, according to authorities, donated just two percent of its...

Prosecutors and defense attorneys in the Allied Veterans of the World case are disputing whether Attorney General Pam Bondi must answer a subpoena and testify. Court records show the state has asked a judge to quash a subpoena for Bondi, who is scheduled for a deposition next week by attorneys for several defendants in the gambling and money laundering case. Bondi argued in her motion that her testimony is no different from what other witnesses could offer and she is entitled to “testimonial immunity” due to her rank. Defense attorney Curtis Fallgatter argued in court documents that Bondi was briefed...

The state of Florida on Saturday filed a lawsuit against BP and Halliburton over the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The suit argues that Florida is entitled to the revenues it lost because of the spill. These include a long list of lost taxes -- sales, corporate, cigarette, liquor -- and other forms of revenue...

Florida AG Says Carrying a Gun is Always Presumably a Crime | All Nine Yards. “Given the small percentage of the population that is licensed to carry a concealed firearm, the overwhelming majority of firearms, or 95%, are not licensed to be concealed. Thus, an officer’s suspicion that a firearm is not licensed would be reasonable because, in any given case, there would be, statistically speaking, a 95% likelihood of illegality.” Wait, what? Oh Jesus Lord, what a dumb statement! Are we to assume that since about 50% of Florida’s population have unregistered, unlicensed vaginas, they should be suspects of...

I’m beginning to believe the 26 State Attorney Generals who challenged Obamacare may have acted more for political purposes or to pacify the people`s outrage over such an extraordinary assumption of power by the federal government, then actually having Obamacare overturned by the Court. When Obamacare was passed, instead of going directly to the Supreme Court which has original jurisdiction in such cases and which I then constantly pointed out, these AGs diddled and dallied for almost two years in lower courts which helped to diminish the people`s outrage by giving the people hope the law would eventually be rightfully...

Justice Roberts` holding that Obamacare`s individual mandate is constitutional as a tax is not only an incoherent stretching of Congress` taxing authority, but defies the very limits of Congress` delegated powers which were carefully enumerated in our Constitution and subjoined to Art. I, § 8, cl.1 by our Founding Fathers ___ Obamacare being absent in the enumeration! The Roberts ruling is immediately exposed for its absurdity when it is analyzed. First, let us confirm beyond the shadow of doubt that Congress` taxing powers under imposts, duties, excises and direct taxes, whatever they may be, are limited by other provisions in...

Romney will not distance himself from RomneyCare. Here's why: Romney wants to impose RomneyCare on all 50 states!! That is absolutely correct. He's already recruited Florida's Attorney General Pam Bondi as his healthcare czar to get it done. Romney claims that he wants to repeal ObamaCare, but he's already lined up Pam Bondi to head up his national healthcare task force to push RomneyCare on all 50 states. After all that has been said and written about socialized healthcare and individual mandates, Romney and Bondi, still LOVE RomneyCare and should he become president will attempt to impose it on ALL...

Pam Bondi makes a big show of opposing FEDERAL intrusion into our lives, but she is fine with STATE intrusion into our lives. Note how she blusters of the federal government while embracing state authority. The problem is the trampling of the rights or the INDIVIDUAL. The Romney bandwagon is all smoke and mirrors. Romney is no conservative.

I have not been able to find the entire On The Record Bondi interview, either in video OR professional transcript, so I transcribed it myself. Hopefully the full segment video, with transcript, will become available, so any mistakes I may have made can be corrected. Below is the transcription of Greta's Pam Bondi interview, transcribed directly from the TV segment [the later rebroadcast]. (Note: In the rebroadcast, there was a second or two in which there was a loss of audio and a black screen; I have noted it in the transcript]Greta's 1-27-2012 interview On The Record with Pam Bondi...

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi who's fighting to repeal ObamaCare appeared on Greta, tonight, defending RomneyCare. She says Romney’s health care plan is not the same as ObamaCare and, in fact, Romney's plan reduces costs. She goes on to say that Romney wants all states to impose similar laws (including mandates) and that she and is all for it. She went on to explain that she's going to be on Romney’s Health Care Advisory Team when he’s president! What this means is that while Romney may say he wants to repeal ObamaCare, he actually agrees with it. He believes that...

February 23, 2011 Media Contact: Jennifer Krell Davis Phone: (850) 245-0150 Attorney General Bondi Files Response to Department of Justice in Health Care Lawsuit Attorney General Pam Bondi today filed a response in the health care lawsuit, opposing the Department of Justice’s motion to clarify. The memorandum was filed on behalf of the 26 states and the National Federation of Independent Business. “Department of Justice’s motion to clarify is merely an attempt to delay the process when the order clearly required a halt to implementation. Judge Vinson’s order is an injunction stopping the federal government from enforcing the Affordable Care...

In a public relations victory for opponents of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson granted six more states approval to join in the Florida-based lawsuit to stop the reform law. Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a written statement that although the addition of plaintiffs does not change the underlying legal arguments in the case, it sends “a strong message” that a majority of states consider the law an unconstitutional expansion of federal powers.

This week begins the inauguration and swearing-in ceremonies for newly elected officials all over the country. One thing many of us have in common is that the voters rewarded us for our outspoken opposition to ObamaCare. The electorate's decisive rejection of the Obama administration's policies reveals a pervasive concern over the federal government's disregard of fundamental aspects of our nation's Constitution. No legislation in our history alters the balance of power between Washington and the states so much as ObamaCare does.
