CoverGirl’s prized cover boy is under fire after tweeting that he's afraid to go to Africa for fear of contracting Ebola. Teen makeup artist James Charles became the darling of the internet and the press after CoverGirl announced their gender-stereotype-busting “first male CoverGirl” in October. Now Charles is under fire for his alleged “anti-blackness.” On Thursday, Affinity Magazine reported Charles tweeted that he was afraid of getting Ebola from traveling to Africa:

Donald J. Trump redrew the electoral map with his rousing economic nationalism and evocation of a lost industrial age. It was a message that drew many union members to his cause. And now it is upending the alliances and tactics of the labor movement itself. In early November, workers at the Momentive chemical plant in upstate New York went on strike to beat back pension and health care concessions. By January, the workers were invoking some of Mr. Trump’s populist campaign themes — but with a twist. They planned to picket outside the Manhattan home of the billionaire Stephen A....

MASON CITY - More than 20 people carrying signs stating "Love Trumps Hate," "Black Lives Matter" and "Where's Canada's Wall?" gathered in Central Park late Friday afternoon. "This is what Democracy looks like!" they chanted. Those who were at the protest against President Donald Trump, organized by the community action group Where Do We Go From Here and the Fourth District Green Party Chapter, also carried signs in support of protecting the environment. One sign stated, "I've Seen Better Cabinets at IKEA." After walking around the sidewalks on the perimeter of the park, protesters lined up along Washington Avenue. Some...

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is receiving additional security protection from the U.S. Marshals Service. Politico reports: Drew J. Wade, a spokesman for the Marshals Service, said in an email to POLITICO that the law enforcement agency “is not aware of providing a protective detail for the U.S. secretary of Education in the past.” “The Attorney General authorized the U.S. Marshals to provide the protective detail for Secretary DeVos,” Wade said. The Marshals Service, which is part of the Justice Department, declined to provide additional details about the new security measures or who requested them. Last week DeVos was blocked from...

The Second American Civil War is gradually coalescing into an observable phenomenon. The lines are being drawn and people are taking sides in noticeable ways. As it now stands, we have something of a "cold war" going on as it once existed between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. Espionage, intelligence breaches, clandestine black bag operations, fifth column saboteurs, and the like. But important questions remain: As the war continues, how will the conflict evolve? Will it escalate? If so, what will be the flashpoint that puts it in full motion? Will it turn into a full-fledged armed conflict? As...

Accenture said on Friday it would create 15,000 jobs in the United States, as IT services firms brace for a more protectionist U.S. technology visa program under President Donald Trump. The company is domiciled in Dublin, Ireland, but a majority of its more than 380,000 employees are in India. IT services companies came under the spotlight after Trump said that his administration would focus on creating more jobs for U.S. workers, who had been affected by the outsourcing of jobs abroad. Major IT service companies, particularly those based in India, use H-1B visas to fly engineers to the United States...

Milo Yiannopoulos, the gay conservative and figurehead of the so-called “alt-right” movement, is set to appear on Real Time with Bill Maher, the controversial political talk show from HBO, on Friday night (Feb. 17). During the broadcast, he will go toe-to-toe with the former host of Politically Incorrect who is an outspoken Trump critic and was once even the target of a lawsuit from the current President. Milo has had a meteoric rise in the last two years, breaking into the mainstream for a series of controversial comments that eventually got him banned from Twitter. While Yiannopoulos claims no responsibility...

Donald J. Trump â€@realDonaldTrump 60m 60 minutes ago The FAKE NEWS media (failing @nytimes, @NBCNews, @ABC, @CBS, @CNN) is not my enemy, it is the enemy of the American People! They aren't the enemy for the left as leftists enjoy praising all networks (except Fox) and adore papers such as The Failing New York Times and The Washington Compost. A new tactic of leftists is to go the Twitter feeds of whiny political reporters like Jim Acosta (who literally had a drawing a "fan" gave him showing him with tape over his mouth as though he has been silenced). They...

Hugh Hewitt has been all over this idea lately.(TWEETS-AT-LINK) Bolton was a candidate for Secretary of State during the transition period, then a candidate to be a key undersecretary at the Department under Rex Tillerson, and then more recently … nada. His name hadn’t been mentioned in connection lately with any major staffing positions, which is odd given that Trump reportedly came to admire him from his appearances on Fox News. (Also a key qualification for KT McFarland in landing her job as deputy NSA, apparently.) Bolton had two big problems in landing a job at State. One: Rex Tillerson...

The group Not My President’s Day announced a rally scheduled for Monday in Boston had to be canceled, according to a statement Thursday. The rally would have been in the Boston Common from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. EST. The group announced it was not granted a permit, but it’s also worth noting that only 173 of the 1,200 individuals invited to the event said they planned on attending. “We were unable to get a permit in time for the rally, so officially, we’re not hosting an event in Boston. However, we do have one planned in NYC!” The official...

A second consecutive day of protests against U.S. President Donald Trump's month-old administration appeared to lose momentum on Friday, with rallies in Chicago, Los Angeles and New York attracting small yet enthusiastic crowds. Activists had called for a "general strike" a day after thousands of immigrants across the United States stayed home from work and school during "A Day Without Immigrants" to highlight the contributions of foreign-born workers to the American economy. Strike4Democracy, one of the groups organizing Friday's strike, said more than 100 public protests were expected around the country. In New York, more than 16,000 people responded to...

President Trump has defeated Democrats in the intelligence community (IC) who were leaking classified information to the press. Such leaks have been a problem for many presidents, but Trump is the first who took a proactive approach and set up a sting operation that identified the leakers. It’s highly illegal to leak classified information. It’s also illegal to PUBLISH this information, but Trump is too smart to try and prosecute reporters.

Liberal hypocrites never complained when Obama conducted the largest illegal immigration raid in U.S. history You know all those liberals who are complaining about how Trump just conducted a raid on 683 illegal immigrants? Those same liberals were silent after Obama conducted a raid on 3,168 illegal immigrants during the last week of March, 2012. It was the largest illegal immigration raid in U.S. history.

For New England, closing a nuclear power plant in 2014 only increased the need for electricity generated by burning natural gas, driving up carbon dioxide emissions in the region. In Michigan, experts say closing one of the state’s three nuclear plants could lead to a similar outcome — increased carbon dioxide emissions. The Entergy Corp. nuclear plant in Vermont, which accounted for 70 percent of the state’s electric generation and 4 percent of the region’s, shut down in 2014. As a result, carbon dioxide emission rates went from 726 pounds per megawatt-hour in 2014 to 747 pounds per megawatt-hour in...

Our extraordinary misallocation of national treasure and political power has set a banquet of consequences that few are willing to face, much less address head-on. If we had to sum up this vast misallocation, we might start by characterizing it as the result of a multitude of elites playing Empire with money borrowed from future generations. We can start the list of extraordinary misallocations of national treasure with the Neocon's endless wars of choice. Ten years ago, estimates of the total cost of the Iraq misadventure were $3 trillion: Cost of Iraq War: $3 Trillion; Cost of Solar Plants to...

It reminds me of an old gambit in fly fishing called the “artificial hatch.” Trout like to gorge on mayfly nymphs as they rise out of a stream and shuck their nymphal shells to fly away as winged adults. The bugs do this in bunches, at a particular time of day, according to sub-species. This “hatch” drives the trout into a feeding frenzy.

The No More Black Targets campaign argues that shooting ranges and instructors should not use “menacing” black targets, and is petitioning to end the practice, citing trigger bias. “Young black men are 3X more likely to be shot by trained shooters than their white peers,” notes the site for the campaign. “A disturbing potential correlation: The most popular target for shooters to learn to use their firearm is a black silhouette. Unconscious bias can be deadly.” A Change.org petition by the group intends to call upon the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors to end the use of...
