Bo (woof) In Commentary: The following story sounds a little fishy to me. Is he on the drug to help his heart or his self confidence? You be the judge… (Talisker, a border collie, was living on borrowed time after vets found his heart had become dangerously enlarged. The dog, three, from Yardley Hastings, Northamptonshire, passes out when he gets excited because his blood cannot pump quickly enough around his body. But, since taking Viagra , the blood flow to Talisker’s heart has improved, according to owner Lesley Strong, 58.) I understand the worry about the heart becoming dangerously enlarged,...

For the harried office worker, the life of a Welfare recipient must seem like an eternal vacation. Not so, as the number of networks increase and the number of online porn outlets multiply, people on welfare are finding less time to drink booze and take drugs separately. This compressed schedule has made multi-tasking necessary. “I swear to God, it’s like I got two jobs,” George Wallace Foreman, of Tyrone, said. “I thought technology would make my substance abuse easier. Boy, was I misled!”

Tuesday's profile of in the Washington Post of Moqtada al-Sadr contains some interesting details that suggest the direction of Sadr's aspirations. First, there's this tidbit: Sadr has said that he is at the third level of clerical study, known as external research, which precedes becoming a "mushtahid", a cleric who can issue fatwas, or religious edicts, on his own authority. Achieving this status normally takes many years of study, but several of Sadr's followers, including Nidawi, said they believe that Sadr will be certified as a mushtahid within the next year. The importance of this is in establishing Sadr's legitimacy...

Have a few minutes to spare? Go to "Google," type in the phrase "highly educated voters," hit "Search News." Go ahead. We'll wait . . . OK, what do you get? All sorts of stories about Obama voters, and how he attracts the "highly educated." You will get the same from the pundits on network and cable news: lots of blather about how Obama appeals to "highly educated" Americans. That, of course, is just more MSM "spin doctor" nonsense and we conservatives let them get away with it. We heard the same song when John "Xmas in Cambodia" Kerry ran...

Growing global demand and a weak dollar have given us $4-a-gallon gasoline. The way to lower prices would seem obvious: pump more oil domestically and strengthen the dollar. That's too obvious for Congress, apparently, which instead wants to solve the problem through litigation: The House of Representatives overwhelmingly approved legislation on Tuesday allowing the Justice Department to sue OPEC members for limiting oil supplies and working together to set crude prices,

Richard Landes has produced a 14-minute video accompanying his column on the French court of appeals judgment reversing the defamtion verdict against Phillipe Karsenty in connection with his criticism of the infamous France 2 television report on the death of Muhammad al-Dura: In the asymmetrical warfare of global Jihad against the West, the “weak” side treats the media of the “strong” side as a theater of war, and no single case shows the Western journalism’s vulnerability to this kind of manipulation better than the Al Durah affair. Nothing illustrates the dysfunctions of our media more than their pervasive refusal to...

Well, no. But it makes a good story, and is designed to appeal to Jews. His mother was an only child, so Obama has no American uncles. His uncles on his father’s side (the ones from Kenya), if they participated in WW2, did not go to Europe. ... So what we appear to have is something that’s commonly known as “resume inflation.” And that’s what you get when you have a man who has no real experience. When what you have is an empty suit who is trying to pretend that there is substance there. But what was the point...

You scrimp, you save, you try to invest. You try to set a little aside every month, try to make wise investments. But when savings accounts barely pay 1%, and municipal bonds paying 3%, where can you get a decent, safe return on your money? One of my local financial businesses is paying a guaranteed 9% on your money. But you can’t invest there, by law, unless you have a documented income of at least $200,000 a year, or a net worth of at least a million dollars. The same story with a new solar energy technology company, that promises...

Thanks to a link from one of my Obama-admiring commenters (thank you, Robert), we learn that Obama's tales of Americans liberating Auschwitz didn't start this weekend. He was telling similar stories about his grandfather back in 2002, in his now-famous Iraq speech, which I'd never previously read: My grandfather signed up for a war the day after Pearl Harbor was bombed, fought in Patton's army. He saw the dead and dying across the fields of Europe; he heard the stories of fellow troops who first entered Auschwitz and Treblinka. The first troops to enter those two camps (in Poland) were...

Did U.S. Rep. Lane Evans(D)Illinois, actually dress like a bum and mingle with homeless Veterans? Now I know he has Parkinson's Disease, and I don't want to sound mean spirited, but I just don't believe he saw veterans that were actually fighting for access to DumpstersI know he was was one of the most liberal members of the House, and probably Illinois' most liberal congressman from outside Chicago, but c'mon he actually saw homeless veterans fighting over access to the dumpsters.

As the price of crude oil and its products—most notably gasoline—continue to rise, Democrats are split over whether fascism, communism or plain old tort abuse would provide the best remedy. The fascist approach was championed by Representative Paul Kanjorski (D-Pa). Under his plan (House Bill 5800—Consumer Reasonable Energy Price Protection Act of 2008), ownership of energy producing assets would remain in private hands, but the government would control pricing and profits. “For too long, American businesses have been free to pursue private greed,” Kanjorski complained. “It’s time they be compelled to meet public need.” Kanjorski called the bill “a first...

How much information is too much information when a nation is at war to publicly disclose about our on-going attempts to achieve a resolute victory over terrorists? Congressman Keith Ellison, a relatively unknown figure from Minneapolis, Minnesota, was elected to the U.S. Congress and took office January 4, 2007. Ellison is a close friend and political confidante of Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois. Ellison lays claim to being the first African-American from his state and the first Muslim to be seated in Congress. He was accepted by Americans, but he has not yet accepted America as his...

Why do the Pundits attack President George Bush for some of his tangles with the English language when they have a treasure trove of gaffes From the wannabe President Barack Obama? Maybe because they just want to ignore obama's ignorance and promote his candidacy? Nah, the press isn’t that short sighted…/s.

"Melissa Barton said she is considering legal action after her son's kindergarten teacher led his classmates to vote him out of class. "After each classmate was allowed to say what they didn't like about Barton's 5-year-old son, Alex, his Morningside Elementary teacher said they were going to take a vote, Barton said. "By a 14 to 2 margin, the class voted him out of the class. "Barton said her son is in the process of being diagnosed with Aspberger's, a type of high-functioning autism...
