CHICAGO (Reuters) - American Airlines canceled almost 1,100 flights, or nearly half its schedule, on Wednesday to reinspect aircraft, a disruption that affected about 100,000 passengers and triggered chaos at the busiest U.S. airports. The airline said it expects about 900 cancellations on Thursday.

In an update yesterday, I noted that astute readers better versed in jihad-related matters also pointed to another item in the original post, a July 8 church bulletin column by Obid Safi of the Progressive Muslims Union. That organization's "progressive" nature has been called into question. Both items have, justifiably, raised further "What did he know and when did he know it?" and "What does he really believe?" questions about the presidential candidate I frequently refer to as BOOHOO (Barack O-bomba Overseas Hussein "Obambi" Obama).

From on the ground in Najaf, Eye Raki reports Mookie has returned to home in Najaf. Also, he has lost a lot of weight. Perhaps the Britney Spears diet?: "I was introduced by a mutual friend to an officer in the Ministry of Interior who confirmed the reports. I wanted to go to look out for any unusual activity around his house but the street leading to his home was blocked off by IP's who wouldn't give us a straight answer as to why we are not allowed through...Could this be a turn around in Iranian foreign policy and possibly...

The full text from the video, as released, reads as follows: Thanks so much for the Caucus4Priorities, for the great work you've been doing. I'm the only major candidate who opposed this...

I wasn't in a very political mood today so I wandered over to the DUmmie astrology forum for some laughs. The first thing I saw was Uranus. Threads about Uranus always make me laugh so I decidied to DUFU Uranus. The photo above is from Voyager staring straight up Uranus. Voyager found out that there were rings around Uranus. I knew there were rings around your toilet but not around Uranus. Despite the fact that I wasn't in a political mood this DUmmie THREAD titled, "quick thought re: Uranus and sending Light," ended up being about politics. The DUmmies...

By Matt Sanchez © 2008 In an attempt to be "edgy," the Absolut Vodka manufacturer created an ad that hearkened back to the first Mexican Empire and included much of what is indisputably the United States of America. The ad (seen at right) placed California, Colorado and Texas in Montezuma's Revenge territory, which would be a disaster for the average human smuggler; could you imagine having to cross Texas on foot just to get a decent job or drink clean water?

Note to American readers: Here's what Canadians have to put up with. Covet your freedom of speech - it's rare, even in the so-called 'free world'. That self-serving legal maladroit Richard Warman is making waves again with his so-called Maximum Disruption Campaign. The latest has the anti-rightwing, anti-conservative, anti-freedom of speech legal beagle launching an all-out attack against a number of conservative writers and internet forums.

HIMSS Analytics (short for Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society); a “think-tank” for the healthcare management world has just released the 2008 HIMSS Analytics Report: Security of Patient Data. release info. This report examines the security of patient personal identifying information (PII) and protected health information (PHI). In the current data breach crazy world, this is a timely report which tries to get beneath the surface of the needs of health professionals to balance quick access to secure patient health records and the need to protect not only patient privacy but prevent access to information which could lead to identity...

Editor’s note: Workers World is in its 50th year of publication. Throughout the year, we will share with our readers some of the paper’s content over the past half century. Below are reprints from two articles in 1968—the first one is on the police riot at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago and the second one is on the repression against students in Mexico, days before the Olympics where held there.

“Alan from Upland CA” has finally stepped up to challenge Tony Wicher’s anti-Semitic hate speech at Barack Obama’s official Web site. ...Alan replies to Mr. Wicher’s “Obama’s Jewish Problem” as follows. Obama’s sanction of Wicher’s commentary, plus his unbelieveable cowardice (heck, he all but called Abraham Lincoln a “Racist”) in denouncing the Black Nazi Wright is enough of a turn-off. Wicher just adds more fuel to the fire. Could have been set by David Duke or Farrakhan... ...Tony Wicher’s and Desmond Tutu’s terminology for Zionists and even Jews is identical to material from David Duke’s Web site. Again, all this...

Jerry Zeifman, the Democrat chief of staff of the House Judiciary Committee that worked on the Watergate investigation, says he fired Hillary from the committee staff and refused to give her a letter of recommendation – one of only three people Zeifman refused to recommend to other employers in his 17-year career, “because she was a liar. She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.” Clinton defended her actions in the Watergate investigation as “necessary for the greater good. Look, we...

I had a financial setback and to help me through a buddy is going to pay me $1,000 a month to keep a website optimized. It is a commercial website, he used to be on the first page of results for the major search engines but has slipped back to page 2 and it has hurt his business. He is going to teach me what he knows about optimization. I put out an e-mail to friends breifly mentioning the setback and what I would be doing for my friend and an acquantence from a Bible study who owns a communications...

Congratulations to all of our Official Honoree selections!” Our intrepid writer was up against some stiff competition in the Political Blog category, when you can hold your own against the like of the CNN Political Ticker; NewYorker.com; Swampland (TIME); The Caucus (New York Times) and Thought Leader (Mail &...

This is a political forum and really has not place for an out of place comment that I’m about to make, but I just have to say that tonight on American Idol I was watching a magic moment in Jason Castro who sang “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”. Don’t care how old or corny the Judy Garland classic is, this Castro kid did such a wonderful rendition of it that I just had to get my heart out of my throat and say this guy, well he really has a musical genius in him and I hope he takes the singing...

Rush Limbaugh again today castigated the Republican nominee for president, Senator John McCain, this time for suggesting that the government should "do something" about the excesses of CEO pay compared to the pay of the average worker. There were two things wrong with this: in the first plaee, John McCain in no way suggested government action in interfering with a company's right to determine the pay of its workers - including its chief executive. The only politicians running for president who have favored such action are Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
