TUCSON, Ariz. – Customs and Border Protection officers at Arizona’s Lukeville Port of Entry arrested a 30-year-old man on Feb. 21 wanted in the state of Washington for “escape from community custody.” Zeferino Alaniz Balderas was a passenger in vehicle returning from Puerto Penasco, Mexico. When officers asked both occupants for identification, Balderas stated that his identification had been stolen. As a result, officers directed the driver to a secondary inspection area.

Because of the racial profiling aspects of the law, the Daily Kos has called for Selig to pull the Midsummer Classic and all of its associated revenue from the state.
