In a recent poll for “Axios on HBO,” 55% of American women say they would prefer to live in a socialist country over a capitalist country. This week on “Problematic Women,” we discuss why women are embracing socialism and what can be done to stop this trend. Also, we break down why freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says members of Congress, despite already making $174,000 a year, deserve a pay raise. We crown Yale University graduate and future Justice Brett Kavanaugh law clerk Sophia Chua-Rubenfeld Problematic Woman of the Week. And we discuss these topics: — Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had...

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) hopes to continue working across the aisle by offering to team up with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) for another bill. This bill would fast-track the FDA to approve birth control to be sold over-the-counter instead of requiring a prescription. Ocasio-Cortez tweeted her approval of the statement, suggesting people needed to “pass it on.” Cruz responded, asking if she would like to work on a bill to make that a reality.

Ocasio-Cortez: 'Everyone's Pay Should Be Equal, But My Pay Should Be More Equal Than Others'' WASHINGTON, D.C.—Speaking to reporters after coming out in support of pay raises for herself and her fellow congresspeople, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she believes everyone's pay should be equal, but that her and her colleagues' pay should be "more equal" than everybody else's. "I campaigned on equality and lifting up the poor and bringing down the rich," she said. "But after a few months in Washington, it's clear to me now that we need to shift my campaign rhetoric a bit." She then held up...

US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s spokesman sent a profane tweet to a potential Republican challenger as he ripped him for wanting to debate his boss. “Yo @RichValdes what in the actual f–k makes you think you’re entitled to a debate with AOC,” spokesman Corbin Trent tweeted Sunday at the conservative talk-radio producer who’s mulling a run against the freshmen congresswoman. Earlier that day Valdes said he tried to challenge Ocasio-Cortez to a debate on the merits of capitalism versus socialism as they both marched in the National Puerto Rican Day Parade. Valdes claims the democratic socialist “jetted to the other side...

Here is just one day’s (partial) list of the Left accusing the Right of doing things they do themselves(generally with impunity). 1. Nancy Pelosi U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday she's "done" with talking about President Donald Trump and called him the "diverter in chief," saying he manufactured controversies to distract attention from more important issues. Ha ha ha! Do I even need mention “Russian Collusion”? 2. “Journalist” #1 fake news attack: Except it’s demonstrably not blank as illustrated in this screengrab: 3. “Journalist” #2 fake news attack:a tweet that Mr. Wajahat promptly deleted. Because he couldn’t have...

“Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country.” That’s from President Donald Trump’s last State of the Union address. I’m sure many people found it as encouraging as I did, especially in light of surveys indicating that socialism is gaining popularity here in the United States. And not just at the fringes. One recent Gallup poll showed 4 out of 10 Americans have a favorable impression of socialism. Almost half—47%—said they would vote for a socialist candidate for president. But don’t despair just yet. The same poll also revealed that almost 2 out of every...

Well, well, well, what a pretty picture we have with Democrats these days, with radical Democrats now looking at primary fights with utterly crazy socialist ones. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may be planning to primary her fellow New York Democrats for a Senate seat, getting ready to target Sen. Chuck Schumer or Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand. That's what Mike Allen at Axios is reporting, citing what's apparently an upcoming Axios on HBO segment, citing "top Democrats," who "buzz." He writes: Top Democrats tell "Axios on HBO" they expect Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may eventually primary one of the two New York senators —...

US Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez turned tail on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue to avoid a potential Republican challenger as they both marched in the National Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, her political opponent said. Talk-radio producer Rich Valdes told The Post that he tried to challenge the freshman Democratic congresswoman to a debate on the merits of capitalism versus socialism when he spotted her near West 47th Street. But Ocasio-Cortez “cut her handshaking short, jerked her hand back and jetted to the other side of the street,” Valdes said. “She literally ran!” he said. “I thought this was a good time...

Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) said Wednesday that any plan to sufficiently address the climate crisis will need to cost at least $10 trillion. “I think we really need to get to $10 trillion to have a shot,” the progressive firebrand said in response to a question from The Hill in the Capitol. “I know it’s a ton," she added. "I don’t think anyone wants to spend that amount of money, it’s not a fun number to say, I’m not excited to say we need to spend $10 trillion on climate, but ... it’s just the fact of the scenario.”...

Back in March 2019, an elected government representative shared something personal about her spiritual identity. Not a preferred Bible verse or a conversion story. Rather, progressive New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shared her birth-time with a self-described psychic and astrologer, Arthur Lipp-Bonewits, who in turn shared her entire birth chart with what can only be described as Astrology Twitter. Astrology Twitter went wild. So did the mainstream media, with outlets from Vox to The Cut to Allure speculating about what Ocasio-Cortez’s astrological chart could tell us about her fitness for political office. “AOC’s Aries Moon indicates that she’s emotionally fed...

A Republican from New Jersey who plans to move to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s district to run against her in the 2020 election blasted the congresswoman’s policies as “misguided” in an appearance at a Queens GOP club Thursday. Rich Valdes, a conservative radio producer who previously worked for NJ Gov. Chris Christie, told about 100 people at the Queens Village Republican Club Thursday evening. “AOC – All Out Crazy – wants to establish a new Soviet Republic. I believe in capitalism over socialism. Her misguided policies don’t represent the district,” he told the crowd. “She’s great at fundraising but not at...

Millennials are a mirror that reflect many of society’s problems — or so claims a new report from researchers at Stanford University and other institutions. The report, published Thursday, examines everything from suicide rates to health to homeownership among millennials in their 20s and 30s. “Millennials are the first generation to experience in a full-throttled way the social and economic problems of our time,” said sociology professor David Grusky, director of the Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality. “These problems are steam-rolling a generation in a special way because they are bearing the brunt of factors like high inequality, declining...

Are dads’ essential DIY skills in decline? According to new research, millennial dads are less capable than their own dads when it comes to everyday DIY fixes, preferring to rely on professional help instead. A new poll of 1,000 millennial dads and 1,000 baby boomer dads found that when a DIY task needs to be done at home, more than half of millennials prefer to call a professional. And when it comes to emergency “handiness” scenarios, millennial dads fall short in almost every category.

Climate change proposals from the 2020 Democratic field aren't quite cutting it for the woman behind the Green New Deal. Several 2020 Democratic hopefuls have unveiled initiatives to combat climate change, but most of them don't go far enough for Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. The candidates who've released plans are former Vice President Joe Biden, Washington Governor Jay Inslee, Senator Elizbeth Warren and former Representatives Beto O'Rourke and John Delaney. "The entire field of climate plans still needs to be pushed," the freshman Democrat told reporters Wednesday. "And the issue is that it's not even that I think it needs to...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., an advocate for a $15 minimum wage, returned to work as a bartender for one day. Ocasio-Cortez said: "All labor has dignity, and the way that we give labor dignity is by paying people the respect and the value that they are worth at minimum. We have to make one fair wage, and we have to raise the national minimum wage to $15 an hour, nothing less." The issue is simple: Does a government-mandated minimum wage help or hurt the very workers and job seekers that Ocasio-Cortez wants to help? Ask her former boss, who owned...

Climate change represents “a near-to midterm existential threat to human civilization, according to an analysis by the Breakthrough National Centre for Climate Restoration. The paper, published by the Australian think tank last week, gives one scenario in which by 2050 "accelerating climate-change impacts pose large negative consequences which might not be undone for centuries." If policymakers fail to act on evidence presented in the current Paris Agreement, in which global human-caused greenhouse emissions will not peak until 2030, this will lock in about 3 degrees Celsius of warming, according to the scenario presented in the report. There is "broad scientific acceptance"...
