Imagine if President Trump, Vice President Pence, or pretty much any major figure in the Trump administration was supposed to show up at a campaign event anywhere in the United States. Depending on who it was, somewhere between a few hundreds to a few thousand people would show up, even if they knew the couldn’t attend the actual event. I’m not talking about a rally. Those are normally packed. But just an appearance by the President anywhere would draw a huge crowd even if only in hopes of an opportunity to wave at him passing by. But the same cannot...

Twitter executives have joined with those at Facebook to institute wide-ranging censorship policies targeting political posts they say “falsely claim a win for any candidate.” The embattled social media company announced Friday that it would add labels to posts that claim a pre-mature victory for any candidate and remove posts they believe interfere with the election process. Vijaya Gadde, whose title reads “Legal, Policy and Trust & Safety Lead,” and Kayvon Beykpour, a “Product Lead” for Twitter and co-founder or Periscope, announced the draconian changes on the official Twitter blog: “People on Twitter, including candidates for office, may not claim...

President Donald Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Judge Amy Coney Barrett, will tell the Senate Judiciary Committee on Oct. 12 that the Supreme Court shouldn’t try to make policy. “I have been nominated to fill Justice Ginsburg’s seat, but no one will ever take her place,” Barrett writes in her remarks, which she is expected to present to the committee. Her remarks will present her legal philosophy and will stress that she is a proponent of the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s legal theories. Barrett previously was a legal clerk for Scalia, who died in 2016. “It was the content...

The Twitter account of NBC News correspondent and third presidential debate moderator Kristen Welker has been deactivated on Friday amid the tweeting controversy surrounding C-SPAN host Steve Scully. Hours after Scully's Twitter account was deleted following an alleged hacking that took place on Thursday night, Welker's own account was no longer active. Fox News is told that Welker deactivated her own account and was not asked to by the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), according to an NBC source. Fox News reached out to the CPD and NBC News for comment.

The FBI and Twitter are investigating a claim made by C-SPAN host Steve Scully that his Twitter account was hacked when it posted a message for Anthony Scaramucci, one of President Trump's fiercest critics, days before he was to moderate a debate. 'Steve Scully notified us that his Twitter account was hacked,' the Commission on Presidential Debates tweeted on Friday. 'CPD reported the apparent hack to the FBI and Twitter, and we understand that the federal authorities and Twitter are looking into the issue.'

The Delaware man charged in federal court with conspiring to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has a long criminal history and was pardoned just last year by Delaware’s governor for crimes dating to 1994, according to state records. Barry G. Croft Jr., 44, was taken into custody this week after being arrested by the FBI in Swedesboro, New Jersey. Croft made an initial appearance before a federal magistrate in Wilmington on Thursday. Croft was being held Friday at a state prison in Wilmington. A hearing on his continued detention and removal to Michigan is scheduled for Tuesday.

In a new interview with “The Atlantic” published Friday, former Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton discussed the 2016 race and said “we still don’t know what really happened.” “We still don’t know what really happened,” Hillary said to Edward Issac-Dovere about the 2016 election “I mean, there’s just a lot that I think will be revealed. History will discover.” Hillary also pointed to her popular vote victory multiple times. “But you don’t win by three million votes and have all this other shenanigans and stuff going on and not come away with an idea like, ‘Whoa, something’s not right here,’” the...

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden says he refuses to speak on whether he plans to “pack” the Supreme Court because, he implied, that would deflect attention from President Trump. “You’ll know my opinion on court-packing when the election is over,” Biden told reporters alongside running mate Kamala Harris. “Now look, I know it’s a great question and I don’t blame you for asking, but you know the moment I answer that question, the headline in every one of your papers will be about that other than focusing on what’s happening now.” “The election has begun. There has never been a...

Liberals often mock conservative Christians for supporting a notorious sinner and philanderer in Donald Trump, but the left has grown increasingly hostile to biblical (small-o) orthodox Christianity. Even the ostensibly moderate Democratic nominee Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. represents an insidious threat to the religious freedom of conservative Christians. He also represents a threat to Roman Catholics, even though he is himself a practicing Catholic. How could this be? Biden’s rhetoric and policies single out those who adhere to traditional religious beliefs and moral convictions, aiming to limit their ability to live by their consciences and ostracizing them from polite society....

Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, pointed out Monday evening that some coronavirus patients experience a “reversal” after they start to feel better. “He looks fine as you can see the way he looked when he came out of the hospital,” Fauci told CNN’s Chris Cuomo. “The issue is that he’s still early enough in the disease that it’s no secret that if you look at the clinical course of people sometimes, when you’re five to eight days in, you can have a reversal. A reversal meaning going in the wrong direction and getting into...

President Trump’s campaign is canceling planned television ads in Ohio and Iowa for this week to instead focus funding in states where polls show the president trailing Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. The president’s reelection campaign canceled $2.5 million in ads in Ohio and $820,000 in ads in Iowa, according to ad-tracking firm CMAG, CNN reported Monday. This week will be the third week in a row without Trump TV ads in the two Midwestern states as polls show a deadlocked race between Trump and Biden. A Sunday CBS-YouGov poll determined the candidates were tied in Ohio at 47 percent...

The Michigan Supreme Court on Friday struck down months of orders by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer that were aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus, saying she drew authority from a 1945 law that is unconstitutional. The decision is an extraordinary development in a monthslong conflict between Whitmer, a Democrat, and the Republicans who control the Legislature and have complained that they’ve been shut out of major orders that have restricted education, the economy and health care.

A man has been arrested and charged with premeditated attempted murder in connection to an ambush shooting that left two Los Angeles deputies injured. The deputies, a male and a female who have not been identified publicly, were sitting in their parked patrol vehicle in Compton on Sept. 12 when they were shot multiple times. Deonte Lee Murray, 36, of Compton, was arrested on Sept. 15 in connection to a carjacking that happened earlier this month, said Captain Kent Wegener of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. With Fox News host Chris Wallace being heavily criticized for his bias towards Democratic Presidential nominee Joe Biden during the first face-off between the latter and President Donald Trump on Tuesday, September 29, social media users were curious as to who will be the moderators for the next two debates. NPR media correspondent and host of On Point Radio David Folkenflik was one of the people who had part of the answer. "Just a reminder folks. The most decent man in DC, Steve Scully of C-SPAN, is next presidential debate moderator. How the hell is *that* going to work?" Another...
