This year will feature a barrage of bee ess from the left because every year is like this. Here are what they are, and my top five ways of beating them at their own game. 1. Self-labeling with positive-sounding words: This is the left's perennial favorite in lying with language – always labelling themselves with positive-sounding words that automatically convey a false impression of compassion and probity, putting them two steps ahead whenever anyone uses them. False impressions are created by the labels progressive, liberal, democratic, and even socialist. After all, who can be against progress, liberty, democracy, or being...

The city of Santa Monica is asking a judge to declare the two Waymo charging stations public nuisances and order that overnight operations be curtailed due to the effects of noise and lighting on nearby residents. The city's court papers, filed Dec. 24, say those who live near the stations have used such terms as "mini-Las Vegas," "living next door to a spaceship," "a circus" and "a city that never sleeps" to describe their plight. Residents also say they hear workers' whole conversations in normal speaking voices in the middle of the night, along with all the other sounds the...

This “block party” was a bust. Scores of Zohran Mamdani fans who braved freezing temperatures to celebrate the new mayor as he was publicly sworn into office Thursday were left disappointed by the bash the socialist pol had promised. Around 10,000 supporters stood outside City Hall during the event — billed as an “Inauguration for a New Era Block Party” by Mamdani’s staff — crammed into several barricaded pens without access to bathrooms or any food concession stands. Mamdani supporters watching the mayor speak at the inaugural "block party" at City Hall. “It’s definitely not a block party,” said Danny...

MEXICO CITY (AP) — A strong earthquake rattled southern and central Mexico on Friday, interrupting President Claudia Sheinbaum’s first press briefing of the new year as seismic alarms sounded. The earthquake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.5 and its epicenter was near the town of San Marcos in the southern state of Guerrero near the Pacific coast resort of Acapulco, according to Mexico’s national seismological agency. Sheinbaum resumed her press briefing a short time later and said that she had spoken with Guerrero’s Gov. Evelyn Salgado, who told her there was no serious damage reported so far. Residents and tourists...

A new report alleges that Somalia’s Foreign Minister Abdisalam Abdi Ali, a U.S. citizen whose Ohio-based healthcare company has raked in millions from American taxpayers, also controls an LLC operating out of the same address as a Somali money transfer firm previously accused of funneling funds to terrorist organizations. Abdisalam Abdi Ali was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia in May 2025. Born in Somalia but building a life in the U.S., Ali established Ritechoice Healthcare Services LLC in Toledo, Ohio, over a decade ago. Shockingly, two additional healthcare companies operate out of the same office...

“The left can act with an insane decentralized unanimity typically seen only in the insect kingdom.” —Curtis Yarvin. Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, flummoxed. All winters are winters of discontent, but some winters are more discontented than others, and this one is like being stuck in a smoke-filled sod hut on the lonely prairie, with lice crawling under your hair-shirt, while a sleet-storm rages outside. . . . And it was only just Christmas days ago! Immigrants, legal and otherwise, are the gifts that keep on giving. Minnesota is acting all indignant now over the discovery that its many thousands of Somali...

Not the Bee has been summoned. If you handed this in as a plot in a script, the studio would send it back because it just feels too unbelievable. But it’s real and radicalizing stuff. https://t.co/2t4RwNj7Tb— Robby Starbuck (@robbystarbuck) January 1, 2026Imagine Seth Dillon and Kyle Mann huddled around a table with the writers of The Babylon Bee. "How can we top this?" they ask. You can't! Satire can no longer compete with reality! Here's more links for the naysayers: LINKS AT SITE.............. It was already ironic enough that Somalia, the failed pirate nation known for war and chaos, is...

Minnesota’s sprawling welfare-industrial complex is once again under the microscope after a stunning investigation by NewsNation revealed that so-called “assisted living” facilities funded with millions in taxpayer dollars are, in reality, nothing more than ordinary single-family homes. According to reporting from Rich McHugh of NewsNation, Minnesota continues to shovel millions of Medicaid dollars to properties owned by a man already indicted in the state’s massive Feeding Our Future fraud scandal, despite overwhelming red flags and a growing list of exploited public programs. The properties are owned by Gandi Mohamed, also known as Gandi Abdi Kediye, who was indicted in February...

The US Coast Guard is searching for a 77-year-old woman who fell off a Holland America cruise ship miles away from the shore of Cuba. Officials said an unidentified woman fell off the Neiuw Statendam on Thursday about 40 miles northeast of the Sabana. In a statement the Coast Guard said the Air Station Clearwater MH-60 helicopter crew and the crew of the Cutter William Trump are assisting in the search. A couple of years ago, in July 2023, I participated in a debate at the Soho Forum on the subject of immigration. The resolution for the debate was: “Resolved: The U.S. should have free immigration except for those who pose a security threat or have a serious contagious disease.” Alex Nowrasteh of the Cato Institute took the affirmative. I took the negative. Nowrasteh, a Senior Vice President for Policy at Cato, is known as a free immigration absolutist. And to his credit he had some good points to make. The most important one was that nothing increases world GDP so...

When the news broke of convictions for rampant fraud across several pandemic programs in Minnesota, the $1 billion price tag and over 90 indictments were staggering. We now know this is a very low estimate of the price Americans have paid to fund deeply corrupt state-administered welfare programs. snip The governor recently defended the state’s "generosity" which allowed Somali fraudsters to purchase luxury cars, homes and vacations at the expense of hungry Minnesotans. Its welfare state is widely considered a magnet for those seeking to become beneficiaries. Alarmingly, welfare is now the state’s single-largest annual expenditure — higher than education,...

Australia has activated a new requirement for search engines to verify the ages of their signed-in users, with companies now facing a six-month countdown to full compliance. The rule, which began on December 27, sits within a newly registered industry code under the authority of the eSafety Commissioner and extends the country’s expanding system of online content controls. Search services such as Google and Bing must soon introduce age-assurance checks when logged-in users perform searches that might surface adult or otherwise “high-impact” material. The mechanisms vary, but common approaches include prompting users to confirm their age through a pop-up screen...

A traveler went berserk at Kansas City International Airport on New Year’s Eve, vowing to “slap” female Southwest Airlines workers as he screamed at staff in a caught-on-camera tirade. The outburst unfolded around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at a Southwest Airlines counter in the unsecured area of the airport. In a video posted on social media by X user Collin Rugg, the man can be heard boasting about his background while hurling abuse at the workers, declaring, “I’m from the UK, n—a!” as he continued threatening the women behind the counter.

When Jan. 1 rolls around, New York City will have its first self-avowed socialist mayor. As a New York resident and a keen observer of Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s rise to power, I thought it worthwhile to write what I expect of him in the new year. A lot is riding on Mamdani’s success for the Left. He’ been touted as the way of the future for the Democratic Party. He’s the Barack Obama for a new generation, just as the old Obama becomes passe. Whereas Obama carefully laid the groundwork for the radical turn in American government and institutions leading...

The Small Business Administration (SBA) announced Thursday that it suspended 6,900 Minnesota borrowers after uncovering what it says is widespread suspected fraud. SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler said the agency reviewed thousands of Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) loans approved in Minnesota, and identified nearly $400 million in potentially fraudulent loans tied to borrowers in Minnesota. "These individuals will be banned from all SBA loan programs, including disaster loans, going forward," Loeffler wrote on X. Loeffler said the agency will refer appropriate cases to federal law enforcement for prosecution and repayment. "After years, the American people...

Zohran Mamdani became mayor of New York City just after midnight on Thursday, and standing by his side was his wife, Rama Duwaji - in some very pricy boots. The 34-year-old mayor took the oath of office at a historic, decommissioned subway station in Manhattan; however, his wife's stylish outfit is what has people talking. New York's First Lady, 28, wore a black knee-length skirt and a black woolen coat as they stood on the stairs of the subway station, with the artist completing the look with a pair of $630 boots.
