The Treasury Department sent a letter last week to conservative influencer Erika Kirk with findings that contradict fraud allegations about the finances at Turning Point USA and could help her refute those claims, sources told CBS News. Questions were being raised on social media about the finances at Kirk's organization, Turning Point USA, and podcaster Candace Owens and others were urging donors to demand refunds. That led a few of its small-dollar donors to ask for their money back, one of the sources said. Erika Kirk runs the nationwide conservative college student organization co-founded by her late husband, Charlie Kirk....

Daily Readings from the USCCB“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” Matthew 11:28–30Each of us needs to hear these gentle and inviting words more than we realize. On the surface, many people project an image of happiness, as if they have it all together. Social media profiles often present the happy, successful, fun, and impressive aspects of a...

SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED STATES — Associate Justice Neil Gorsuch dismantled a lawyer’s illogical arguments about a president’s executive power during a high-stakes Supreme Court hearing on Monday. The moment came during oral arguments for Trump v. Slaughter, a case centered around President Trump’s firing of Rebecca Slaughter, a Democrat member of the Federal Trade Commission. As The Federalist previously reported, the high court will weigh the constitutionality of statutory limitations on a president’s ability to remove members of so-called “independent agencies” and whether to overturn longstanding precedent established in its 1935 Humphrey’s Executor v. U.S. decision. During his...

So far in 2025, the state of New York has released nearly 7,000 illegal migrant criminals from its jails and prisons and set them loose on society. For every one of them ICE had filed active detainers with state authorities. The crimes for which these criminals were incarcerated included attempted murder, thousands of assaults, and hundreds of burglaries, robberies, drug offenses, weapons offenses and sexual predatory offenses. Currently, 7,113 illegal migrants with active ICE detainers are currently being held New York's prisons and jails. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is demanding they be turned over to them for deportation...

A Kentucky sheriff who was caught on camera shooting a local judge at point-blank range has admitted to the murder but pleaded 'not guilty' in court - and a new filing offers insight into his possible defense. Lawyers representing ex-Letcher County Sheriff Shawn 'Mickey' Stines argued in court documents that he 'lacked the capacity to intend' to shoot and kill his good friend, District Court Judge Kevin Mullins, 54, in September 2024, the Lexington Herald-Leader reports. Stines lawyers' said the sheriff was 'exhibiting paranoid and psychotic conduct' when he shot the judge inside his chambers. The legal team also laid...

Two teenage illegal migrants from Afghanistan have been sentenced to prison for the rape of a 15-year-old girl in a park in the English town of Leamington Spa in Warwickshire. Jan Jahanzeb and Israr Niazal, who both arrived illegally on small boats across the English Channel from France as unaccompanied minors, have been sentenced to ten years and eight months and nine years and ten months in prison respectively for the rape of a 15-year-old girl in May. Both Afghan nationals were being housed in taxpayer funded accommodation at the time of the brutal attack, The Times of London reported....

The Trump administration must stop deploying the California National Guard in Los Angeles and return control of the troops to the state, a federal judge ruled Wednesday. U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer in San Francisco granted a preliminary injunction sought by California officials who opposed President Donald Trump’s extraordinary move to use state Guard troops without the governor’s approval to further his immigration enforcement efforts. But he also put the decision on hold until Monday. California argued that conditions in Los Angeles had changed since Trump first took command of the troops and deployed them in June. The administration initially...

Can Congress create federal agencies with power to enforce the laws and prosecute crimes, but which agencies are outside the control of the President? In a 1935 decision called Humphrey’s Executor, the Supreme Court held that it could. I first wrote about this subject in a post back in December 2016 titled “Can The Separation Of Powers Of The Federal Government Be Righted?” December 2016 was immediatey after Donald Trump had first been elected President, but before he had taken office. The backdrop of the post was the issue of the extent to which the newly-elected President Trump would be...

It appears white nationalist media figure Nick Fuentes isn’t quite as popular as his supporters would have us believe. While the media pretends that the young bigot is the new avatar for the right, the numbers tell a different story. To sum it up, Fuentes' popularity is about as real as Jasmine Crockett's chances of winning Texas' Senate race. The Network Contagion Research Institute (NCRI) dropped a report on Monday showing that Fuentes’ recent surge in popularity did not come from organic grassroots support, but a coordinated campaign among his followers, foreign engagement farms, anonymous bot networks, and targeted “raid” tactics...

The Original Marshmallow Experiment The Marshmallow Experiment began in the late 1960s and early 1970s at Stanford University, led by psychologist Walter Mischel and his colleagues (Mischel et al., 1972). The setup was famously simple: a child was placed at a table with a marshmallow (or sometimes a cookie or pretzel). The researcher explained that the child could eat the marshmallow immediately, but if they waited until the researcher returned—usually around 15 minutes—they would receive a second marshmallow. The children’s reactions ranged from hilarious to heartbreaking. Some covered their eyes. Some sang to themselves. Some sniffed, stroked, or poked the...

Almighty God has sent a SAVIOR, mighty to save and deliver ALL who trust in Him from sin and ETERNAL death (John 3:16-17, 36, Rom 7:24-25, Rev. 20:11-15)! Oh my beloved, how many people do you think in the land of Israel 2000 years ago were TRULY looking for Almighty God’s Savior of the Holy Scriptures prior to His incarnation (birth) (Psalm 40:6-8, Isa. 53, John 1:10-11, 14, Heb. 10:5-14)? Sadly near to none... because (then and today) people (Sadducees, Pharisees, Israelites, conservatives, liberals,...

The Treasure of the Magi (Matt. 2:1-12; 6:21; 1 Cor. 1:18-31; Col. 2:2-3) Our hearts within us Are longing for more than gold: Treasures and riches Which only Messiah holds. Governor Abbott Designates Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR As Foreign Terrorist Organizations. November 18, 2025 | Austin, Texas | Press Release. This designation authorizes heightened enforcement against both organizations and their affiliates and prohibits them from purchasing or acquiring land in Texas. “The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have long made their goals clear: to forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world,’" said Governor Abbott. "The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to support...

Monday night, the Charlotte City Council unanimously approved plans to enter into a one-year contract with Sherry Matthews Group for marketing and communication services. Now days after the most recent light rail stabbing, the city is continuing efforts to improve public perception and encourage people to use public transit. “It is outrageous that rather than...

DOHA, Qatar (AP) — With the remains of one hostage still in Gaza, the first phase of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire in the war between Israel and Hamas is nearly complete, after a two-month process plagued by delays and finger-pointing. Now, the key players — including Israel, the Palestinian militant Hamas group, the United States and a diverse list of international parties — are to move to a far more complicated second phase that could reshape the Middle East. U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan — which was approved by the U.N. Security Council — lays out an ambitious vision for...

President Donald Trump assailed The New York Times, accusing the paper of "seditious, perhaps even treasonous" behavior as it and other mainstream media outlets circulate "fake" reports suggesting he's slowing down. "There has never been a President that has worked as hard as me," Trump said in a Tuesday night statement on Truth Social, pushing back on claims about his stamina and sharpness. He touted what he described as a record of achievements, saying he "stopped Eight Wars," built "the Greatest Economy in the History of our Country," rebuilt the military, delivered the "Largest Tax Cuts and Regulation Cuts, EVER,"...

According to the document, NATO "no longer aligns with current US national security interests"WASHINGTON, December 10. /TASS/. Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, a Kentucky representative, introduced a bill calling for the United States to withdraw from NATO. "NATO is a Cold War relic," the Republican Congressman wrote on the X social network. "We should withdraw from NATO and use that money to defend our own country, not socialist countries," the legislator said, referring to the US expenditures in the military alliance. The lawmaker added that he had submitted a bill to remove the United States from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization....

A Dallas congresswoman opened her Senate campaign by telling voters that she “has gone toe to toe with Donald Trump.” Her Democratic primary opponent insisted that Americans are tired of “politics as a blood sport.” The divergent approach highlights how U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett and state Rep. James Talarico are navigating a race where Democrats hope to break a three-decade losing streak in Texas. It also reflects a broader divide within the party, with some candidates continuing to focus on Trump while others barely mention his name on the trail. Figuring out the best approach will be critical for Democrats...
