“‘They put new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved’” (Matthew 9:17b). Like new wine poured into fresh wineskins, everything stays spiritually fresh for the true believer. First, he or she leads a life of unquestioning obedience and follows the Lord without conditions or excuses. Not long before His ascension, Jesus told Peter, “‘Follow Me!’ Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them . . . So Peter seeing him said to Jesus, ‘Lord, and what about this man?’ Jesus said to him, ‘If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to...

Both the White House and local activists have highlighted the Subway sub slinger amid Trumps’ police takeover. WASHINGTON ― As a dozen U.S. Marshals patrolled the busy U Street corridor on Friday night, they faced angry D.C. residents who felt they had no need to be there. When a HuffPost reporter asked one of the agents if he worried for his safety – that is, if he feared someone might launch a Subway sandwich at him ― he flashed a smile. “Only if it’s a footlong,” the officer said. Everyone’s talking about the “assault with a deli weapon,” the “hurl...

Other governors, notably those in Republican-run states, are making noises about doing the same. Ron DeSantis had no sooner installed a new CFO, Blaise Ingolia, into the Florida state government than he decided to crack down on the management of those municipalities and counties. Ingolia will be instituting a process similar to the federal Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Unofficially, Ingolia is calling it “FAFO,” or the Florida Agency for Fiscal Oversight. (It’s unclear whether that name will be permanent.) The audit has already begun. The governor sent letters to Gainesville and Broward County requesting financial and DEI information and...

More than a million Russians have been killed or seriously wounded on the battlefields of Ukraine. But there is one man who owes his life to the continuing slaughter. For Vladimir Putin, an outbreak of peace means certain death – by assassination, overthrow and execution, or in an international prison cell as a war criminal. The Russian president's only credible hope of survival in the gangster state he has himself created is to prolong the 'special military operation' in Ukraine or to win in such outrageously successful terms that he can turn his attention to other former client states, other...

The Assistant Attorney General of Rhode Island, a Democratic Woman who is college educated, gets drunk, gets told to leave the bar, refuses, the cops get called and then proceeds to run her mouth into getting cuffed and stuffed in the back of a cop car, meanwhile her friend also runs her mouth and melts down after getting put in the back...
