Is this accusation valid? If Michael is Christ, how do you explain Jude 9? We emphatically reject the idea set forth in this question, and the position held by the Jehovah's Witnesses. We do not believe that Christ is a created being. We, as a people, have not considered the identification of Michael of sufficient prominence to dwell upon it at length either in our literature or in our preaching. But we do have clear views on the subject, and are prepared to set them forth. And our views concerning Michael, it might be added, have been held by various...

United States President Donald Trump said world leaders aim for a full peace agreement to end the war in Ukraine, rather than a temporary ceasefire. He described his recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin as "very successful" and added that the talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, European leaders and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary-General Mark Rutte also went "very well." Trump confirmed that Zelensky will visit the White House on Monday and also said another meeting with Putin could follow if plans proceed. "Potentially, millions of people's lives will be saved," he said.

“Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, ‘Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?’ And Jesus said to them, ‘The attendants of the bridegroom cannot mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them, can they?’” (Matthew 9:14–15). Religious ritual and routine, if not handled appropriately, will always threaten true godliness. Some practices, such as praying to saints or lighting candles for the dead, are heretical. But even biblical practices, when their forms become the center of attention, can become barriers to true righteousness. Church attendance, Bible reading, saying grace before meals,...

Pete Buttigieg said he would support halting U.S. arms sales to Israel and U.S. recognition of a Palestinian state, in a dramatic about-face following backlash over a podcast interview where he expressed cautious support for Israel. The dramatic shift for the 43-year-old former transportation secretary, who is seen as a possible contender for president in 2028, marks the latest evidence of how past norms on Israel are evaporating within the Democratic Party.

As the people of Ukraine know, neighborliness is not among Putin’s great qualities. Still, it was with a reference to the US and Russia being neighbors that Putin kicked off his conversation with President Trump in Alaska yesterday. On the red carpet at the airport he apparently said to Trump: “Good afternoon, dear neighbor. Very good to see you in good health and to see you alive.” ... Trump’s own remarks at the joint press conference were friendly and formal. But he acknowledged that while the talks were a start there was no deal. Because there were still a number...

Martin, conspicuous in a beige trench coat, visited the Clinton Hill brownstone a week after being appointed by Attorney General Pam Bondi to run parallel mortgage fraud probes into the New York attorney general and her fellow Trump-deranged Democrat, California Sen. Adam Schiff. Grand juries in Virginia and Maryland are currently weighing criminal indictments for James and Schiff respectively over allegations they falsified property records to secure favorable loan terms. James’...

Not long ago, my son asked me about the meaning of a word in a novel he was reading for his fifth-grade book club. “Look it up,” I responded, my automatic rejoinder when my children ask me the meaning of a word, which is often.

Documentary maker Mark Laita, who brought attention to the so-called "America's most inbred family", has shared his initial encounter with them. Laita first filmed the Whittakers from Odd, West Virginia, five years ago and has since returned regularly to provide updates on the family via YouTube. The Whittaker family's inbreeding began when the offspring of identical twin brothers Henry and John intermarried, leading to generations of inbreeding and resulting in many of their children suffering severe disabilities. Laita revealed it was initially challenging to gain access to the family as their neighbours were highly protective of them. However, he eventually...

Using powers authorized by the Home Rule Act, President Trump ordered the deployment of National Guard troops, FBI agents, and other federal law-enforcement officers to patrol the streets of Washington DC. This move has been met with mixed reactions. Citing a similar protest where Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich) called attention to Israeli atrocities against Hamas by banging a pot, Free DC Project Campaign Director Alex Dodds urged supporters to "bang pots and pans every night until this occupation by an invading army is ended. We will multiply Rep. Tlaib's effort by a thousand fold. Everyone in the city will hear...

In a surprising twist of fate, a wildfire that swept through Israel’s Betiha Nature Reserve in late July has unveiled significant archaeological remains believed to be the biblical village of Bethsaida.Long thought to be lost to time, this site, located along the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee, has been under excavation since 2016 at the official approval of the Israel Nature and Parks Authority. The recent blaze, while devastating to local flora and wildlife, has provided archaeologists with an unprecedented view of structures buried for centuries.El-Araj has long been under investigation as a potential site for Bethsaida, historically...

Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman is urging state leaders to ban bromazolam, an illicit drug linked to dozens of overdose deaths in the Commonwealth last year, according to our news partners at WCPO-TV. Bromazolam, known as ‘designer Xanax,’ is being sold as prescription pills and has proven to be highly potent and lethal, especially when combined with opioids or other depressants. Coleman credits Northern Kentucky law enforcement for alerting him to the threat, stating, ‘You had a very determined leader from your Northern Kentucky Drug Strike Force who wanted to put this threat from this synthetic, this designer Xanax, on...

There’s Alcatraz.” It’s now official, though paparazzi photos have all but confirmed it: Barinholtz is in town filming Artificial, Luca Guadagnino’s fact-based account of the behind-the-scenes turmoil that saw OpenAI CEO Sam Altman fired and quickly rehired in 2023. The filmmaker and actor are also both massive Knicks fans.Fans are used to seeing Spike Lee and Timothée Chalamet together courtside at New York Knicks games, but could a movie collaboration be next? An artificial intelligence model designed new antibiotics to fight gonorrhea and mRSA superbugs. The overuse of antibiotics can create resistance, when the drugs kill off all but those bacteria most capable of surviving the treatment. It has led to the rise of some bugs that are all but impossible to treat with existing antibiotics, raising fears that modern medicine and surgery — reliant on antibiotics — could collapse, given that few new antibiotics are produced.
