Man Shot And Killed In D.C. Blocks From Protests Over Trump’s Crime Crackdown: The fatal shooting occurred as demonstrators rallied against the President’s plan to combat rising crime in the nation’s capital.

An unidentified man was shot and killed on Monday night in Washington, D.C., just blocks away from a protest against President Donald Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard to combat crime in the city.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) reported that officers responded to the 1200 block of 12th Street NW at approximately 7:01 p.m., where they discovered an unconscious adult male with multiple gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and EMS attempted life-saving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The shooting occurred as a large group of protesters, organized in opposition to Trump’s plan to federalize the city, marched north along 14th Street. Reports from FOX5 and digital host Melissa Kim on X indicated that protesters had gathered in Dupont Circle around 6:24 p.m. and were moving toward the area where the shooting took place. Google Maps estimates the distance between the two locations to be approximately 0.6 miles, a less than 15-minute walk.

Trump’s announcement to deploy the National Guard came during a press briefing on Monday, following a series of high-profile attacks in the city this year. The President has been vocal about his concerns regarding D.C.’s crime rates, which he called “totally out of control.” He has previously floated the idea of bringing in the National Guard to address the issue and has promised that the city would “soon be one of the safest.”

A nearby resident, who heard the gunshots, told FOX5 that she was “a little bit shaken” by the incident and that it was a “shame” it happened on the same day as Trump’s announcement. “I heard those shots. They fired off pretty quickly,” she said, adding that she initially mistook them for fireworks.

The shooting and subsequent protests highlight the ongoing debate surrounding crime in the nation’s capital. Trump’s critics, including some Democratic lawmakers and legacy media pundits, have argued that the President is overreaching his powers and that crime in the city has actually dropped by 35% in 2024. However, data from local police has been criticized for allegedly omitting certain crimes, such as felonies and aggravated assaults, which could make crime rates appear lower.

The incident is the latest in a series of violent crimes to impact the city. It comes after a GOP intern was fatally shot in June, and two Israeli Embassy staff members were gunned down in May. In early August, a former Department of Government Efficiency staff member was severely beaten after intervening in an attempted carjacking near Dupont Circle.

It must mean they want more of it since they are protesting Trump trying to correct the problem.

That is exactly what they are defending - crime and murder in the streets.

Another dead statistic that will be withheld from the public idiots who actually believe crime has dropped bigtime since we fired all the cops and gave desk jobs to their social worker replacements.

Protesting against a crackdown on crime. Let THAT, as they say, sink in…

The mobs (rented protesters) protesting against President Trump's efforts to make D.C. a safer place to live are almost entirely White. Someone should ask why all of these White leftists are opposed to reducing crime and making the streets safer in a predominantly Black city.

I wish they would.

It would expose their hypocrisy for everyone to see, but themselves, likely.

“demonstrators rallied against the President’s plan to combat rising crime in the nation’s capital.”

It’s insane (demonic?) to oppose combating crime. Don’t these people get it? “Yeah. We want more crime.” Duh.

Follow the data.

The Big Leftist Lie that crime has declined nationwide is due to incomplete or nonexistent data from local police sources.

If we had an honest media we would know the dirty little secrets about these “protests” make up. It’s clearly evident that camera operators fill the screen with images of the participants whether it’s 5 or 500 in order to make it look more significant than it really is.

I started noticing the demographics of these protests and 2 things standout. Senior citizens and younger under what looks like 25 and below. Mostly White regardless of the protest topic.

Then I was listening to Armstrong & Getty’s radio show last Thursday morning and they had the CEO of a crowd rental company who said his business is booming, up 400% from last year. He also mentioned that congressional staffers are required to participate in these protests also.

Nothing about these protests are organic or spontaneous. They all are organized and well thought out. That should be obvious to everyone including the vapid CNN & MSLSD viewers. Just the preprinted protest signs is enough of a clue to cast suspicion for anyone with an IQ over 65. I guess that excludes those TV viewers I previously mentioned.

It’s quite dishonest and the media participation with the charade makes it evil. Here’s a couple of links that illuminates the issue.

Right in the downtown, about three blocks from the White House.

Democrats want more crime in DC - and they're fighting tooth and nail for it.
