A Florida woman is accused of attacking another driver after that person ran over a chicken crossing a road in Key West, Florida, on July 9, police said. The suspect in the case was identified as 38-year-old Cynthia Diaz Sosa who told officers with the Key West Police Department she had stopped her car on Petronia Street and was “waiting to let a chicken cross the road” when the situation grew tense, Law and Crime reported Tuesday. Baumgartner, 56, made global headlines in...

Former President Barack Obama suggested during an appearance on his wife's podcast earlier this week that men need gay friends to learn "empathy and kindness" while preparing for potentially fathering a son who identifies as gay or non-binary. Appearing during an episode of "IMO," a podcast hosted by former first lady Michelle Obama and her brother, Craig Robinson, the former president discussed with the two how best to raise boys. At one point during their hour-long discussion, Barack Obama — who noted he was raised by a single mother — suggested that boys need male figures in their lives other...

A prop central to the celebrated opening scene of Citizen Kane - widely regarded as one of the best films ever made - has sold at auction for $14.75m (£11m). The wooden Rosebud sled, one of at least three known to have survived, was long thought to have been lost until it was given to director Joe Dante in 1984, saving it from destruction. He went on to use it as a reference for fans (known as an Easter egg) in films he directed, including Gremlins 2: The New Batch. It is now the second most expensive piece of memorabilia...

Russia has lashed out at the US, accusing the Trump administration of “blackmail” as it continues to threaten Moscow with a sanctions ultimatum. Washington has told the Kremlin that if it does not agree to a Ukraine peace deal within 50 days, then it will impose 100% secondary tariffs on Moscow’s trade partners that buy Russian oil, gas and other products. -snip- It comes as Russia continues to suffer heavy casualties on the frontline in Ukraine. On Tuesday, a group of Republicans joined Democrats to reintroduce the DIGNITY Act, which would provide mass amnesty to illegal aliens living in the country. “The legislation acknowledges a key truth: most undocumented individuals are not seeking citizenship at all costs, but rather the dignity of living and working legally, contributing to society, paying taxes, being safe from deportation, and traveling to see family during the holidays,” a press release from Florida Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, a so-called Republican, states. By the bill’s own admission, “most” illegal aliens don’t want to become Americans in any real sense. They want the...

Last month, the Department of the Navy officially renamed the USNS Harvey Milk—a much-needed course correction that finally put an end to the disgraceful decision to honor a known sexual predator.“This is not about political activists, unlike the previous administration. Instead, we’re renaming the ship after a United States Navy Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, as it should be,” Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth explained. “People wanna be proud of the ship they’re sailing in, and so we’re renaming it after a chief, a Navy chief.”The Navy has renamed the ship the USNS Oscar V. Peterson in honor of Chief Watertender...

Recently, nine underage girls were sexually harassed by a group of Syrian men at an outdoor swimming pool in Geinhausen, Germany.Shocking, isn’t it? I wish it was. The men touched the young victims’ hair, thighs, and breasts while they were in the water.Incredibly, the mayor of Gelnhausen, Christian Litzinger of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) party, attributed the assaults to "high temperatures" causing the migrants' tempers to flare. I knew it! Climate change is to blame! Those poor Syrians were driven mad by the German heat, not just the young fräuleins. The epidemic of sexual harassment and rape being committed by...

VIDEOMany have seen, heard, and laughed at Scott MacFarlane telling Chuck Todd about how the angry crowd at Butler, PA gave him PTSD to such an extent that he had to take Trauma Leave. However, few have heard MacFarlane describe his PTSD attack on that very day of July 13, 2024 when he described live on site how he and the rest of the press corps were jumping under the rafters in panic to dodge bullets far away and long after the last shots were heard. Scott's description of how the angry crowd upset him will tear at your hearts...

What’s wrong with New Yorkers electing Zohran Mamdani mayor? Seriously. He’s a socialist, isn’t he? He’ll wreck New York City, you say. But didn’t that process start with Bill DeBlasio? Do you think that process ends electing Andrew Cuomo or Eric Adams? Perennial candidate Curtis Silwa is a savior? Hasn’t socialism been the road Democrats have been traveling for decades? When Mamdani’s socialist experiment crashes and burns, maybe it’ll persuade New Yorkers to abandon Democrats. Maybe independents decide to swing Republican.JFK-style liberals began vanishing after Kennedy’s assassination. Mamdani’s election would make it obvious what should be obvious. Liberalism, progressivism --...

Morocco’s OCP Group reached today a significant milestone in water sovereignty with the commissioning of the country’s longest water pipeline. The 203-kilometer engineering feat transports desalinated water from the Atlantic coast to the heart of the country’s phosphate mining region. The Jorf Lasfar-Khouribga (J2K) pipeline, operated by OCP Green Water (OGW), marks a decisive step toward Morocco’s water independence while simultaneously addressing the country’s ongoing water stress challenges that have persisted since 2018. The ambitious project emerged from Morocco’s urgent need to combat water scarcity. In 2022, the Moroccan government called upon OCP Group to contribute to national water security...

US envoy pens scathing letter to interior minister, accusing Israel of blocking Christian groups from entering Israel and warning of reciprocal steps against Israeli visa seekers US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has threatened to publicly declare that Israel no longer welcomes Christian groups to Israel over what he said was Jerusalem’s failure to approve tourist visas for evangelical missions. The threat was issued in a letter that Huckabee sent on Wednesday to Interior Minister Moshe Arbel, which was leaked to Hebrew media on Thursday. Arbel pushed back on the allegations in a response letter that was obtained by The...

The University of Michigan's Survey of Consumers for July showed overall sentiment rose 1.8% from June to 61.8, exactly in line with the estimate and at the highest since February. On inflation, the outlook at both the one- and five-year horizons both tumbled, falling to their lowest levels since February. Consumers' worst fears about tariff-induced inflation have receded, though they are still wary of price increases to come, according to a University of Michigan survey Friday. The university's closely watched Survey of Consumers for July showed overall sentiment increased slightly, rising 1.8% from June to 61.8, exactly in line with...

Daily Readings from the USCCBJesus was going through a field of grain on the sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat them. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “See, your disciples are doing what is unlawful to do on the sabbath.” Matthew 12:1–2When Moses gave the Ten Commandments to the people, there was a prohibition against working on the Sabbath. The Third Commandment said, in part, that “you shall not do any work” on the Sabbath (Exodus 20:10). By the time of Jesus, the Pharisees had added much commentary...

While the media and medical establishment scramble to cover for each other, the truth keeps leaking out, and as you can imagine, it’s not pretty. This week, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) took to X to slam RFK Jr. for saying what a lot of us already knew: pediatricians made money, real, big money, off the COVID vaccine push, especially on kids. The AAP tried to shut the conversation down fast: ... But here’s the thing: they’re lying. And the internet brought the receipts. However, before we get to that, we’d be remiss not to point out how the...

The health benefits of potatoes are misunderstood, according to research by professor Neda Akhavan in UNLV’s Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences. Nutrition sciences professor Neda Akhavan’s recent research identifies potatoes as a potential superfood for individuals with Type 2 diabetes. New research reveals that properly prepared potatoes can offer significant health benefits, including cardiovascular improvements, for people with Type 2 diabetes, challenging their negative dietary reputation. The potato is small enough to fit inside a person’s hand yet contains enough nutrients to whittle waistlines and lower blood sugar in adults with Type 2 diabetes. Yet, despite the fact that...

Science is broken--just like every discipline in which 'expertise' is the product being sold for money and prestige. We've seen the practical effects for quite a while. 'Experts' have been getting everything wrong for a long time, and in increasingly dangerous ways. A few years ago, a scandal broke out regarding psychological and sociological research--almost no experimental results were duplicable, suggesting that the 'conclusions' were as valuable as a $3 bill. Nutrition research is total bunkum. Anybody who followed the government's nutrition advice got fat, and the American diet is now filled with poison. Climate 'science?' It's nearly impossible to...

Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said the public "deserves to know" whether CBS’s decision to cancel "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Thursday was politically motivated. "Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled. If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better," Schiff wrote.
