Daily Readings from the USCCBJesus was going through a field of grain on the sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat them. When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him, “See, your disciples are doing what is unlawful to do on the sabbath.” Matthew 12:1–2When Moses gave the Ten Commandments to the people, there was a prohibition against working on the Sabbath. The Third Commandment said, in part, that “you shall not do any work” on the Sabbath (Exodus 20:10). By the time of Jesus, the Pharisees had added much commentary...

While the media and medical establishment scramble to cover for each other, the truth keeps leaking out, and as you can imagine, it’s not pretty. This week, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) took to X to slam RFK Jr. for saying what a lot of us already knew: pediatricians made money, real, big money, off the COVID vaccine push, especially on kids. The AAP tried to shut the conversation down fast: ... But here’s the thing: they’re lying. And the internet brought the receipts. However, before we get to that, we’d be remiss not to point out how the...

The health benefits of potatoes are misunderstood, according to research by professor Neda Akhavan in UNLV’s Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition Sciences. Nutrition sciences professor Neda Akhavan’s recent research identifies potatoes as a potential superfood for individuals with Type 2 diabetes. New research reveals that properly prepared potatoes can offer significant health benefits, including cardiovascular improvements, for people with Type 2 diabetes, challenging their negative dietary reputation. The potato is small enough to fit inside a person’s hand yet contains enough nutrients to whittle waistlines and lower blood sugar in adults with Type 2 diabetes. Yet, despite the fact that...

But the Lord made Pharaoh’s heart stubborn, and he did not let the sons of Israel leave his country. The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt: ‘This month is to be the first of all the others for you, the first month of your year. Speak to the whole community of Israel and say, “On the...

Science is broken--just like every discipline in which 'expertise' is the product being sold for money and prestige. We've seen the practical effects for quite a while. 'Experts' have been getting everything wrong for a long time, and in increasingly dangerous ways. A few years ago, a scandal broke out regarding psychological and sociological research--almost no experimental results were duplicable, suggesting that the 'conclusions' were as valuable as a $3 bill. Nutrition research is total bunkum. Anybody who followed the government's nutrition advice got fat, and the American diet is now filled with poison. Climate 'science?' It's nearly impossible to...

Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., said the public "deserves to know" whether CBS’s decision to cancel "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Thursday was politically motivated. "Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled. If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better," Schiff wrote.

My dad is a retired NYPD cop, he's 85 now and not in the best of health with his heart. I can't show this to him because he will lose it, go completely nuts with rage. That this is being allowed in a city where 3000 people were murdered by Islamic vermin on 911 including NYPD police officers is absolutely outrageous and disgusting.

I'd said it here many times. Liberals have zero long term memory. Or they have memories of convenience. Either way, they're pretty much useless. The entire party is in disarray. No message, no leader and they're left trying to create a crisis they had in their power to resolve years ago. The Democratic Party has no leader and no message. That’s not a right-wing talking point; that’s the findings of a poll commissioned by a Democrat SuperPAC. As reported by The Hill, a survey conducted between May and June by Unite the Country showed voters perceive the Democratic Party as...

The $35 million firearms portal launched to enforce WA’s tough new gun laws has been paused after a security breach. But the Government rejected calls to halt the roll-out as “fear mongering” and senior police insisted the risk was “minor”. A Jarrahdale sports shooting club raised the alarm, after it realised a former club official was still able to access data that included the storage locations of firearms registered to the club’s corporate licence. Police said 10 people were linked to the club’s account and it appeared only one unauthorised person had inadvertently accessed the system. But Commander Lawrence Panaia...

On Thursday’s broadcast of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) said that the government grocery store plan from New York City mayoral candidate Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani (D) is “a new and fresh plan for New York City. But it’s been tried in other cities around the country and has had some real successes.” Warren stated that Mamdani “said, we’ve got a problem with entire food deserts where people can’t get access to grocery stores. He said, I’d like to take a look at whether or not we can have some kind of — like we do on military bases...

Jon Stewart does not sound like he is losing sleep over “The Daily Show” potentially being canceled if Skydance’s acquisition of Paramount is approved. Stewart, on the Thursday episode of his “The Weekly Show” podcast, was asked if he is concerned the deal would spell the end of the long-running comedy program, in part because of his recent criticism of Paramount and President Donald Trump. The 62-year-old comedian said he is not worried about it. “You know, unfortunately, we haven’t heard anything from [Paramount or Skydance]. They haven’t called me and said like, ‘Don’t get too comfortable in that office.’”...

The United States Army plans to phase out most of its ceremonial cavalry units and put the horses up for adoption. Officials hope the move will “align more resources with warfighting capability and readiness,” according to a July 2 announcement. Shrinking its “military working equid” programs—which also include mules and donkeys—is expected to save the Army roughly $2 million per year, reports Tara Copp for the Associated Press. Soldiers who work with horses will also be reassigned to new duties.

Guriev also stated that a complete refusal by Europe to use Russian fertilizers for over three years could reduce crop yields and increase fertilizer...

The campaign is meant to help elect more Democrats to advance a proposed amendment to the Virginia Constitution establishing a state-level “right” to abortion. Among the participants is state Del. Joshua...
