Putin accuses Europe of expropriating grain sent to poor countries

Russian president says grain sent under 2022 Black Sea Grain Initiative ‘ended up’ in Europe

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday accused Europe of embezzling grain sent to impoverished countries under the 2022 Black Sea Grain Initiative.

During a Kremlin meeting, the head of the Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers, Andrey Guriev, mentioned that according to the initiative, the grain “was supposed to go to southern countries.”

“But it ended up going to Europe,” Putin responded.

Guriev also stated that a complete refusal by Europe to use Russian fertilizers for over three years could reduce crop yields and increase fertilizer prices by 20–30%, as demonstrated by the US experience.

He said that, as a result, European farmers would have to reduce sowing or request subsidies.

Europe annually imports 17 million tons of fertilizers, including 5.5 million tons from Russia. Europe already has the highest mineral fertilizer prices, and further increases will lead to lower yields and increased financial burden on agricultural producers, he noted.

Putin said that the Black Sea Initiative, launched in 2022, envisaged not only the export of Ukrainian grain through Black Sea ports but also the normalization of deliveries of Russian agricultural products and fertilizers to international markets.

However, Western countries violated these agreements, he said, and added most of Ukraine's grain was exported to Europe, while obligations regarding Russian products remained unfulfilled. As a result, Russia decided to withdraw from the deal in July 2023.

The EU is a resource poor entity. They depend heavily on imports, food, energy, products…while Russia is self sufficient with $75 trillion in natural resources.

Remember when the EU embargoed Ukraine food? ….madness…also remember Russia shipped tons of grain to African nations- FREE, no charge. The EU break up is nearing….no tears, they are more of a threat to us than Russia is.

The country of Europe must be like the country of Africa, just one country.

The major root cause of Ukraine’s hatred of Russia is Russia’s brutal expropriation of Ukrainian grain, causing starvation.

Huh? Russia gives away its grain, and Ukraine trucks and rails it out…. but many countries now prefer Russian grain as much of Ukrainian grain is contaminated by weapons residue, not to mention it’s Monsanto’s GMO crap.

“ What is Monsanto up to in Ukraine?
Monsanto’s activity in Ukraine began well before the war. The US agro-chemical giant is a world leader in GMO crops and, reportedly, also one of the owners of a significant portion of Ukraine’s arable lands. Monsanto made significant investments in Ukraine as early as 2013, hoping to create a legal environment that would pave the way for its GMO products.…”

Opening free Trade and Commerce with Russia would get much of what the West needs - much, much cheaper. Senile Joe’s Sanctions screwed the West, hopefully Trump will fix that.

Europe is raising tariffs on russian fertilizer. Yes, China and India will still buy, but they always pay much less for resources than Europe.

European lawmakers on Thursday approved new tariffs on Russian fertilizer imports, a move aimed at cutting financial support for Moscow’s war effort but one that has sparked concerns among EU farmers over rising costs.

The European Parliament voted 411-100 in favor of the measure, which will introduce duties starting in July and gradually raise them until Russian fertilizer becomes commercially unviable by 2028.

The ruling classes of Europe are not committing suicide, they are killing off their indigenous working class.

Sometimes, when crazy people are doing crazy people things, the best course of action is to simply get out of the way and let them.
