Embattled Columbia University President Minouche Shafik said Monday that negotiations with student organizers of the pro-Hamas, anti-Israel demonstration had failed to reach an agreement. Fine. It's past time for Shafik to give law enforcement the go-ahead to physically remove the demonstrators if necessary. Besides, negotiating with agitators who carry signs declaring "Death to Zionists," "From the River to the Sea," and other such antisemitic vileness only serves to further empower the demonstrators. As RedState reported on Sunday, Columbia demonstrators are now demanding "amnesty" for their actions so their future career opportunities won't be affected. This is insane, and it would be...

Discovered in a mysterious land, rapamycin can slow the growth of everything from wrinkles to cancer. Scientists are still uncovering the secrets of a compound discovered 50 years ago on Easter Island. Produced by bacteria there, rapamycin appears to be a powerful life-extender and may be a transformative treatment for age-related diseases. In 2009, the National Institute on Aging Interventions Testing Program (ITP) published a groundbreaking study indicating that rapamycin extended the lifespan of mice by 9 percent to 14 percent. Experiments conducted by various research institutions worldwide have further corroborated these findings or have found the compound to have...

Under new federal guidelines, an employer would be guilty of harassment for requiring someone to use a restroom that comports with his or her biological sex, or for referring to someone by a pronoun the person doesn’t want used. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission published the guidance on Monday. The guidance passed on a 3-2 vote, along party lines on Friday, a source familiar with the EEOC confirmed. “Harassing conduct based on sexual orientation or gender identity includes … repeated and intentional use of a name or pronoun inconsistent with the individual’s known gender identity (misgendering) or the denial of...

While Americans are growing uncomfortably accustomed to light sentencing and increasingly brazen criminals, one judge agreed to impose a sentence on the more stern side of the spectrum. A Louisiana man, Glenn Sullivan Sr., 54, of Springfield pled guilty to four counts of second-degree rape earlier this month. Sullivan repeatedly raped and impregnated a 14-year-old girl, and will be surgically castrated while serving out a 50-year prison sentence handed down by Judge William Dyke. Assistant District Attorney Brad Cascio told WBRz:I want to say I've had three people ordered to be chemically castrated but, to my knowledge, this is the...

Heather Idoni, a defendant in the Washington D.C. FACE (Freedom to Access Clinic Entrances) Act trials, told LifeSiteNews that she has been subjected to 22 days of solitary confinement. In an exclusive interview, she said that she received this punishment for sharing food with fellow prisoners. Idoni alleged that she was allowed to walk outside her cell only for two hours in the middle of the night each day and that the lights of her cell were continually kept on. Idoni has been in prison since she was convicted last autumn. ...Zastro said that, upon entering the courtroom, the shocked...

It was less windy in 2023 in Illinois, the article tells us, and that was because of big Canadian forest fires last year. And it blames climate change, of course, for forest fires. Another part of the problem is impediments created by the “equity” requirements now built into Illinois energy law for hiring and worker training. Regardless, it’s not climate change or a year of low wind that’s “sucking the air out of Illinois’ wind power industry,” as the Sun-Times headline postulated. The state’s expectations for renewables were doomed from the start.

Florida’s new heartbeat law will take effect on Wednesday that prohibits abortions on unborn babies who have a detectable heartbeat at 6 weeks. Unborn children who can feel pain will remain protected and a law protecting babies with a heartbeat will go into effect on May 1. The pro-life law will save thousands of babies from abortions and end Florida’s status as an abortion destination in the southeast. Florida is surrounded by states with pro-life laws in effect that protect babies and help women and the abortion industry has been directing customers to Florida for abortions instead of helping women...

Fani Willis on the run from obnoxious reporter. "Hey Fani! ...why haven't you complied with the judiciary committee's request for your communications with the January 6th committee?" "Did Joe Biden promise you a position at the DOJ during his 2nd administration?" "Are you going to be ordering Grey Goose tonight...paying in cash?"

The Kansas state House has voted to override vetoes from pro-abortion Democrat Governor Laura Kelly. The lower chamber of the legislature voted to override her veto of two pro-life bills. One measure promotes adoption by establishing adoption savings accounts, increasing tax credits for adoptive families, eliminating sales tax burden for pregnancy resource centers, and creating tax credits for donors to those organizations. The other bill would protect women from coerced abortions. The House voted 85-40 on both override votes and now the vote heads to the Senate, where successful override votes are expected. While abortion advocates often claim that pro-life...

This week, the Department of Justice (DOJ) refused to comply with a Congressional subpoena for the audio of Special Counsel Robert Hur's interview of President Biden. It was this interview that prompted Hur to decline to prosecute Biden even though he had mishandled classified documents because "he would present himself as an elderly man with a poor memory and be acquitted." Assistant Attorney General Carlos Uriarte defended defying the subpoena, saying "the written transcript alone should be enough for them. After all, we could have refused to give them anything. Their threat to hold me in contempt of Congress is...

Volodymyr Zelensky recently released a statement revealing that his regime and the government of Washington D.C. were in continued contact, “working on a bilateral security agreement” that would see “monetary aid” sent to Ukraine for an agreed-upon time of ten years.###Despite an individual’s personal feelings on the Russia-Ukraine war, the facts of the matter are that Ukraine is not a NATO country—and at this point, the cost-benefit analysis of being a member of the NATO pact is definitely not worth it for the American people—and Zelensky is not a good guy. This isn’t to say that Vladimir Putin is…but between...

Daily Readings from the USCCB“I have told you this while I am with you. The Advocate, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name—he will teach you everything and remind you of all that I told you.” John 14:25–26Sometimes we forget all that God has spoken to us. For example, we may have some clear experience of God’s presence in our lives, such as a powerful spiritual insight gained through prayer, a deep conviction of His voice spoken through a sermon, the transforming freedom encountered through the Sacrament of Reconciliation, or some form of unmistakable clarity imparted...

NATIONAL SHRIMP SCAMPI DAY National Shrimp Scampi Day on April 29th gives us a tasty way to celebrate. On this day, we honor the delicious dish of shrimp cooked with butter, garlic, lemon juice, and white wine. #NationalShrimpScampiDay Scampi is a culinary term for small lobster known as Nephrops (also known as langoustine or Dublin Bay Prawns) and which is completely unrelated to this day. The day is wholly dedicated to the buttery, garlicky, lemony, and wine-sauced preparation of shrimp. Prepare the dish using fresh or frozen shrimp. When serving the dish, add a side of noodle or rice, steamed...

The emergency slide that fell off a Delta flight departing from JFK Airport on Friday was found two days later — washed up in front of the beachside house of a lawyer whose firm happens to be suing Boeing over safety issues, The Post has learned. Jake Bissell-Linsk — a New York attorney whose firm filed a lawsuit against Boeing following the Alaska Airlines door blowout in January — told The Post he got a surprise on Sunday around noon when he looked out the window of his oceanfront home in Belle Harbor, Queens. There — trapped on the rocks...

President George W. Bush took Queen Elizabeth to her first ever baseball game in 1991 - and the excursion only lasted two innings. A new book, penned by the late Bush's longtime chief of staff Jean Becker, sheds light on the exact moment the then-president realized the Queen wasn't enthralled by the game. But her reaction was full of grace. In Becker's book, Character Matters: And Other Life Lessons from George H. W. Bush, she features a number of political heavy hitters including President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Vice President Dan Quayle, as well as...

Columbia University has warned anti-Israel protesters they’ll be suspended if they don’t clear out of their tent encampment by 2 p.m. Monday — just hours after the Ivy League’s embattled president Minouche Shafik admitted that all other negotiations had failed. The protesters were given the ultimatum as NYPD buses were spotted arriving outside the Morningside Heights campus Monday morning. “It is important for you to know that the university has already identified many students in the encampment,” a letter warning students of the looming deadline read. “If you do not leave by 2pm, you will be suspended pending further investigation.”...
