UPDATE: The elders of Harvest Bible Chapel have removed James MacDonald as a pastor and an elder “for engaging in conduct that the Elders believe is contrary and harmful to the best interests of the church.” Read full statement here. I never thought I would hear an evangelical, mega-church pastor talk about planting child pornography on the computer of an executive at a Christian publication. But today, Chicago radio personality Mancow Muller played shocking clips of someone sounding exactly like Harvest Bible Chapel Pastor James MacDonald discussing putting child porn on the computer of Christianity Today CEO Harold Smith. Mancow...

The mother of a girl arrested for saying a police officer looked like her 'lesbian nana' said she is the same cop in a viral video spraying a crowd in Leeds on Sunday. Over the weekend extraordinary footage emerged of a group of West Yorkshire Police staff dealing with a crowd on an estate. At the centre of the fracas was a short blonde-haired officer who was filmed erratically shouting and using pava spray on members of the public. Eagle-eyed members of the public said they thought she looked familiar and claimed she was the same cop who went viral...

The recently ousted pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel James MacDonald took a lavish African safari vacation on the church's dime, a move the elders supported, a letter from his former bodyguard says. The pricey excursion is but one example of misappropriation of ministry resources, other similar letters from previous and present church staff say, which were submitted to the elders several weeks ago. Such allegations are but the latest controversy at the Chicago-area multi-campus megachurch, which continues to navigate changes in leadership as more top officials step down amid the fallout. Over the weekend, elder Steve Huston, who formerly chaired...

Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) is criticizing newly elected House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) for comments suggesting Johnson could support additional U.S. support for Ukraine.“To his great credit, the new Speaker has been a stalwart on the Ukraine issue — voting consistently against an endless conflict with no plan from the Biden administration,” Vance said on X, formerly Twitter. “It’s concerning to see him change his tune so quickly after being elevated to this role.”Vance’s comments come after Johnson, in an interview with Fox News’s Sean Hannity, stopped well short of ruling out additional support for Ukraine.Johnson, who has voted against...

It's the flag that their scriptures say will be carried to Jerusalem in victory. Is it a sign that the Mahdi is about to be revealed? What will be the impact on the rest of the world? What does our Bible say about what happens after this man is revealed?

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said Thursday evening that President Biden is showing obvious signs of cognitive decline — hours after meeting the commander-in-chief for the first time as leader of the lower chamber of Congress. “Do you see in Joe Biden a cognitive decline, and if so, is that a danger to the country?” Fox News host Sean Hannity asked the newly installed House speaker. “I do. I think most of us do,” Johnson said. “This is not a personal slight to him. It has to do with age and acumen, and everyone’s different. Everyone ages differently.”

A judge has ruled that disgraced former Harvest Church pastor James MacDonald, who was arrested seven months ago and charged with felony battery and assault after attacking a 59-year-old woman in a road rage incident that put her in the hospital for 21 days, is eligible for a mental health diversion. An MHD is a program in California where residents suffering from mental health disorders and facing criminal charges may complete treatment to avoid jail time. MacDonald, who is facing seven years in prison for the assault, earlier claimed that she was the aggressor, not him, but also that he...

The Covid vaccine may be linked to a small increase in stroke risk when given alongside a high-dose flu shot, health officials say.A new analysis by the Food and Drug Administration found the link was clearest in adults over 85 and only applied to the Pfizer and Moderna bivalent Covid booster vaccines. The FDA said the risk might stem from the flu vaccine alone and be completely unrelated to the Covid shots. Regardless, the report said the risk is still very small. There were roughly three strokes or stroke-like events called transient ischemic attacks for every 100,000 doses given. For comparison, in...

I’m Obama’s college classmate at Columbia University, Class of ’83. We’ve both had interesting political careers since graduating from Columbia. We stand as polar opposites on every issue. My classmate Obama clearly learned well at Columbia (even though he was rarely, if ever seen there by anyone- classmates or professors). I’ve already written about Obama aka “the ghost of Columbia.” I believe he spent his two years, after transferring to Columbia, at our sister school in the old Soviet Union- studying communism. And at Columbia at the time, the big strategy everyone talked about was called “Cloward-Piven.” It was a...
