Institutional change typically happens slowly and in ways that are difficult to see from a distance. Over the past several decades, institutions of higher education have been steadily adopting more and more ideas and practices destined—as those proposing the changes admit—to transform them, the goal being greater diversity, inclusion, and equity, or DIE. A view of the university as a site for radical moral and political propagandizing is getting stronger every day, steadily erasing the traditional view that the mission of higher education is the pursuit of objective truth. Every day, we get stories of how this transformation is operating...

One of the themesongs of Biden’s Bidenomics should be Credit Card (CC) Rider, since consumers are turning to credit cards to cope with high inflation (Bidenomics). US credit card debt oustanding just passed the $1 trillion mark as consumers continue to struggle with effects of inflation. Caused by The Federal Reserve and insame Federal spending. Note that sticky core inflation is still at 5.63%. If we look at credit card debt compare to The Fed’s balance sheet, we see the relationship. Credit cards + auto loan balances are now over $1.6 trillion. Biden is currently out west trying to sell...

LAHAINA (HawaiiNewsNow) - Eyewitnesses are describing an apocalyptic scene in Lahaina town, where residents were forced to jump into the harbor waters to avoid fast-moving flames from a massive brush fire that’s destroyed much of the historic area and continues to burn. Residents say an overwhelmed fire force — fighting flames all day amid powerful winds — could do little as flames ripped through historic Lahaina town, destroying dozens of homes and businesses in what onlookers believe is the worst natural disaster in Hawaii’s history since Hurricane Iniki.

Some of the most exotic solutions to climate change are the various forms of geoengineering. Such proposals aim to reduce global warming by shrinking the amount of solar radiation that reaches Earth’s surface—by, say, injecting large amounts of sulfur dioxide or dust into the air to mimic the cooling effect of large volcanic eruptions. Or building catapults to launch lunar dust into orbit around Earth and intercept the sun’s rays in the space near our planet. But University of Hawaii cosmologist István Szapudi has an even more far-out idea: place a 372,000-mile-wide sun shade tethered to a captured asteroid between...

BEIJING, Aug 9 (Reuters) - China's consumer sector fell into deflation and factory-gate prices extended declines in July, as the world's second-largest economy struggled to revive demand and pressure mounted on Beijing to release more direct policy stimulus. Anxiety is rising that China is entering an era of much slower economic growth akin to the period of Japan's "lost decades", which saw consumer prices and wages stagnate for a generation, a stark contrast to the rapid inflation seen elsewhere. China's post-pandemic recovery has slowed after a brisk start in the first quarter as demand at home and abroad weakened and...

Donald Trump claimed the Fulton County district attorney who is expected to slap him with a fourth indictment soon is having an affair with a gang member in a wild tirade in New Hampshire on Tuesday. 'They say there's a young woman, a young racist, in Atlanta, and they say, I guess, they say she was after a certain gang, she ended up having an affair with the head of the gang or a gang member,' Trump claimed, referring to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. 'This is a person who wants to indict me. She's got a lot of...

“Barbarism is that which prevailed from the days of Adam down through ten generations to the time of Noah. It is called barbarism because of the fact that in those times men had no ruling authority or mutual accord, but every man was independent and a law unto himself after the dictates of his own will.” (John of Damascus, “The Fount of Knowledge,” cited in Political Apocalypse, Ellis Sandoz, p. 131)Pre-flood barbarism was an anarchy of selfishness in accord with Nietzsche’s moral philosophy, “You have your way, I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, it...

The Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 brought to power men who hated God and Christianity in all its forms. Lenin, who would end up being embalmed and put on display like a dead pope after his premature passing, once called the idea of God an “unutterable vileness.” The Russian Orthodox Church, as the chief repository of tradition and culture in Holy Mother Russia, had to be extinguished in order for the godless Soviet Union to rise from the ashes. The revolutionaries got to work as soon as they could—over 12,000 clergy were murdered outright–shot, beaten to death, hanged or drowned—and a...

Older women who drink just one sugar-sweetened beverage a day have a “significantly higher” risk of developing liver cancer and of dying from chronic liver disease, according to a study published Tuesday in the medical journal JAMA. An artistic duo has once again come under fire and received death threats in Argentina for depicting religious figures through a series of Barbie and Ken dolls. Emiiano Paolini and Marianela Perelli came up with a Barbie Virgin Mary and a Ken Jesus doll, which were recently on display for sale at a toy store in the Buenos Aires town of Lujan. The Barbie in question symbolizes the Our Lady of Luján with an embroidered mantle and a crown. The Ken doll was modeled after Jesus crucified on a cross. Paolini and Perelli initially introduced their concept in 2014 as...

The United States is seeking to prevent Russia from scoring a major new win with coup-hit Niger, wagering despite initial disappointment that long-standing military ties will keep the country in the Western orbit. Niger has been the linchpin of US and French anti-jihadist operations in the Sahel, especially since the military takeover of neighboring Mali, which has shown the door to Western forces and welcomed Russia's ruthless Wagner mercenary force. Victoria Nuland, the acting deputy secretary of state, on an unannounced visit to Niamey on Monday acknowledged little progress on reversing the July 26 coup but said that the military...
