Explanation: A composite of images captured about a week apart from mid August 2022 through late March 2023, this series traces the retrograde motion of ruddy-colored Mars. Progressing from lower right to upper left Mars makes a Z-shaped path as it wanders past the Pleiades and Hyades star clusters, through the constellation Taurus in planet Earth's night sky. Seen about every two years, Mars doesn't actually reverse the direction of its orbit to trace out the Z-shape though. Instead, the apparent backwards or retrograde motion with respect to the background stars is a reflection of the orbital motion of Earth...

"If you drive around where these halls are located, you will notice they're raking in tens, if not hundreds of thousands of dollars a month," Marshall said. "They're not lifting these communities up. Nobody's property value has gone up as a result of the illegal facilities, the economies...

Kaplan, a Clinton appointee, ordered that Trump’s attorneys, Joseph Tacopina and Alina Habba, can question Carroll on an apparent inconsistency in her sworn testimony in pre-trial depositions about how she funded her defamation lawsuit against Trump. It came after Trump’s attorneys learned days ago that—contrary to Carroll’s sworn statements in an Oct. 14, 2022, deposition that no one else is paying...

This latest round of insanity started when Toronto-based writer Ari Blaff published an article in the New York-based National Review. Bud Light has consistently been in the news recently for all the wrong reasons. Roger Goodell's NFL has -- true to form -- joined it there. Despite the Bud Light's inexplicable choice to partner with transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney, the NFL has made the beer company the official sponsor of the NFL Draft. That’s right, on a weekend when the best college football stars will be transitioning to the next phase of their careers, the NFL will be advertising for a company that supports transitioning of the worst kind. It's a match made in progressive heaven! The NFL Draft will...

The pro-crime policymaking that eliminated public safety and cost over 3,000 lives in 2020 alone was done under the guise of fighting racism. Statistics which showed that black people were more likely to be arrested, imprisoned or shot during criminal...

The fourth branch of government: an unofficial term for the collection of federal regulatory agencies that impose fascist, centralized control over every aspect of our lives. Ryan McMaken of the Mises Institute equates it to the Deep State, and adds a befitting if gory aspect, calling it the “headless” fourth branch of government. In a 2019 Mises Wire article, McMaken quotes Garet Garrett’s book Ex America: These agencies have built up a large body of administrative law which the people are obliged to obey. And not only do they make their own laws; they enforce their own laws, acting as...
