WESTCHESTER, New York — In a book he says is aimed at the well-educated with an interest in the subject, accomplished psychiatrist and professor, Dr. Richard Gallagher, delivers compelling findings from his decadeslong career to make a compelling case that demons and demonic possession are real phenomena. For many Christians, Gallagher’s findings presented in his 272-page book, Demonic Foes: My Twenty-Five Years as a Psychiatrist Investigating Possessions, Diabolic Attacks, and the Paranormal, first published in the fall of 2020, could simply be treated as an acknowledgment of what the Bible has been telling them for centuries.“In my experience, the idea of...

A New York judge warned former US President Donald Trump to refrain from rhetoric on social media that could inflame or cause civil unrest, Associated Press reported. The judge Juan Merchan said he was not imposing a gag order, at this point, but he asked both sides to refrain from comments that could lead to civil unrest. The gag order would have restrict Trump and his legal team as well as others involved in the proceedings from speaking publicly about the case.

A drug approved in 2019 for macular degeneration apparently caused rare retinal side effects because of its interactions with the human immune system, two new studies have concluded. The drug, a monoclonal antibody called brolucizumab, was developed for an eye condition known as wet age-related macular degeneration, or simply, AMD. Reports emerged a few months after its launch noting rare retinal disorders in a small percentage of patients treated with the drug. These side effects impacted an estimated 2.1% of patients. "In 2020, rare cases of retinal vasculitis and/or retinal vascular occlusion were reported, often during the first few months...

CNN’s blowhard fact-checker Daniel Dale may have just inadvertently confirmed a financial tie between leftist billionaire George Soros and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg in a fact-check that tried to dismantle the connection. Dale rushed to Soros’ defense in his March 31 piece flailing at former President Donald Trump for connecting Bragg — who is leading a politicized, prosecutorial vendetta against him — to Soros. Dale called the connection “exaggerated” and tried to downplay Soros’s $1 million contribution to the leftist Color of Change PAC — the racially charged group that pledged $1 million to support Bragg just days prior...

Applying ice to a muscle injury is a widespread first-aid treatment, but exactly what effect does this have on the muscle regeneration and does it really help? Cumulative research by a multi-institutional Japanese research collaboration reveals that "to ice or not to ice" may depend on the degree of muscle injury. In their latest research, the group have shown that applying ice to muscle damage in a small percentage of muscle fibers in rats promotes muscle regeneration. This is believed to be the first study in the world to show benefits of icing on muscle repair. Macrophages are immune cells...

The Kremlin wants to replace the notorious Wagner Group with an alternative force Vladimir Putin can exert more influence over, reports say. An apparent feud between Russia’s Military of Defence and the mercenary faction has reportedly led to Putin becoming paranoid about his own position. The Russian president is reportedly fearful the Wagner Group has become too powerful amid rumours of a power struggle between key Russian officials. However, no other known Russian group comes close to Wagner’s military size or combat power, the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) has said. The British defence experts said the desire for a...

The pair of candidates spent the weekend trying to woo over undecided voters ahead of Tuesday’s electionThe Windy City decided on its new mayor Tuesday after a tight race between two blues, with a progressive, Bernie Sanders-endorsed Democrat taking the keys to the Chicago mayor's office. Progressive Cook County Commissioner Brandon Johnson defeated his moderate opponent, former Chicago Public Schools CEO Paul Vallas, to take the Chicago mayor’s race, replacing outgoing Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who came in third before the runoff. Vallas garnered the support of the Chicago police union and major business groups while Johnson got the backing of...

Women are more likely than men to develop Alzheimer's disease (AD), with women making up two-thirds of the population living with AD. A new study sheds light on the relationship between the risk of Alzheimer's disease and age of menopause and use of hormone therapy (HT). The results indicate that early age at menopause may be a risk factor for AD dementia, but that women who were prescribed HT around the age of menopause onset did not show increased risk. "We found that the highest levels of tau, a protein involved in Alzheimer's disease, were only observed in hormone therapy...

The housing market has hit the skids, with existing home sales dropping in 12 of the last 13 months and existing home prices peaking last June. The surge of home prices during the height of the pandemic and the jump in mortgage rates since the Federal Reserve began raising interest rates last March dampened home demand. The 30-year fixed mortgage rate averaged 6.32% in the week ended Thursday, up from 4.67% a year ago, according to Freddie Mac. Existing home prices fell 12% to $363,000 in February from $413,800 last June. Don’t expect a rebound soon, say analysts from Moody’s...

Aging coincides with the accumulation of senescent cells within skeletal muscle that produce inflammatory products, known as the senescence-associated secretory phenotype, but the relationship of senescent cells to muscle atrophy is unclear. Previously, researchers found that a metformin + leucine (MET+LEU) treatment had synergistic effects in aged mice to improve skeletal muscle structure and function during disuse atrophy. In this new study, researchers aimed to determine the mechanisms by which MET+LEU exhibits muscle atrophy protection in vitro and if this occurs through cellular senescence. C2C12 myoblasts differentiated into myotubes were used to determine MET+LEU mechanisms during atrophy. Additionally, aged mouse...

The Social Contract is broken. The Bragg-Daniels attack on Donald Trump is the quintessential modern act of PC stupidity’s destruction of a society. If it succeeds. But yet again, President Trump’s vicious enemies have under-estimated and misread the master campaigner they seek to destroy. The man is a builder. From way back. And now his astonishing creativity has the chance to build the single best thing to Make America truly Great Again. A broad-based coalition for freedom. These are some of the people I believe President Trump should invite now to agree to be part of his next administration from...

Some, generally those who recognize a historic context within the moment of its manifest, will say that President Donald Trump carries an anointing – a protection that keeps harm from his purpose.Others, mainly those who pontificate punditry while exclaiming, “the beginning of the end” and “the walls are closing in”, will likely gnash their horrible teeth and declare the bad man Trump is coated in Teflon. Albeit with a slowly lessening voice, while becoming even smaller than they were. The indictment of Donald J. Trump IS HERE and the “statement of facts” IS HERE. The situation, as it is represented within...

Immunotherapies, such as anti-PD-1 and anti-PD-L1, have become standard first line therapies for patients with advanced renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer). Most patients, however, eventually experience disease progression, with no consensus on what therapy to use next. In an open-label phase 2 study, researchers investigated for the first time the combination of cabozantinib, a VEGF TKI, plus belzutifan, a HIF-2α inhibitor. Belzutifan has shown antitumor activity and favorable safety in heavily pretreated advanced kidney cancer. The researchers previously reported results for cohort 1 of the trial, called LITESPARK-003. This study reports on cohort 2, which includes patients diagnosed with advanced...

While the Biden Adminstration continues to insist that the world is suffering a "climate crisis," data from the NSSTC tells a different story. Newly released weather data shows average climates worldwide have remained unchanged for about nine years. The data published by the National Space Science and Technology Center shows that there has been zero global warming since July of 2015, eight years and nine months ago.The finding undermines arguments by the Biden administration and others that rising temperatures, in large part the result of emission from fossil-burning fuels, have become an existential threat and that needs to be stopped.
