Former President Donald Trump said he asked his daughter, Ivanka, and her husband, Jared Kushner, to not be involved in his 2024 reelection campaign.“Contrary to Fake News reporting, I never asked Jared or Ivanka to be part of the 2024 Campaign for President and, in fact, specifically asked them not to do it – too mean and nasty with the Fake & Corrupt News and having to deal with some absolutely horrendous SleazeBags in the world of politics, and beyond,” Trump wrote Tuesday on Truth Social. While Kushner attended the former president’s campaign launch last month, Ivanka Trump was noticeably absent.“I...

One of the big mistakes that gays (as in men) and lesbians (as in women) made was to embrace the so-called transgender movement. Gays and lesbians are about same-sex attraction, a psycho-emotional pull that has been around since time immemorial. By contrast, the so-called transgender movement essentially says that lesbians are actually men, while gays are really women. That is, they’re not same-sex attracted; they’re attracted to the opposite sex with the misfortune of inhabiting the wrong body. Forty years ago, I knew of one man who fully understood this dynamic. I hadn’t met him, but I knew his daughter....

How did U.S. exercise trends go from reinforcing white supremacy to celebrating Richard Simmons? That evolution is explored in a new book by a historian of exercise, Natalia Mehlman Petrzela, author of the book Fit Nation: The Gains and Pains of America’s Exercise Obsession, out Jan. 2023. Nowadays, at the beginning of every New Year, many Americans hit the gym to work off their holiday feasts. This momentum usually starts to fade in mid-January, according to a 2019 analysis of data on fitness tracking apps by Bloomberg. But such new year’s resolutions are pretty new—as is the concept of exercise...

My late father had a very strong work ethic. He came here with a wife and three kids and worked two jobs to take care of us. Eventually, he got back to banking, his profession in Cuba, but he worked carrying luggage at a hotel for almost four years. My father would be shocked to see people collecting money for doing nothing. Why are so many people walking by those "help wanted" signs rather than inquiring about work? The answer is government benefits, what a friend from Finland once called the "European disease" -- paying people for not working. This...

The European Commission is considering banning ships registered in European Union countries from using crews of sailors from the Philippines. The prohibition could drastically impact global shipping: Currently, one in four crew members on merchant vessels around the world hails from the Philippines. And the European Union is second only to Panama in gross merchant tonnage. If this ban goes through, it’s poised to rock an industry that’s been struggling for years. Deutsche Welle reports the ban is being considered after an audit by the European Maritime Safety Agency. European regulators found that maritime education institutions in the Philippines didn’t...

Hey, look, everybody. Alvin Bragg is doing his job! Maybe Mr. District Attorney isn’t beyond embarrassment after all. Well, sort of doing his job. After Bragg’s office finally requested bail be set for a notorious serial shoplifter, a Manhattan judge did so — and one-man crime wave Wilfredo Ocasio, 44, took a trip to Rikers Island. Hard-pressed Manhattan retailers can be forgiven a smile, but there’s scant evidence that Ocasio’s long overdue detention reflects new prosecutorial policy. More likely it’s that Ocasio, who has done hard time for rape and robbery, was just a felon too far for Bragg. The...

Democrats have introduced ballot-harvesting, junk-mail balloting, and zero voter I.D. as "reforms" to elections, making everything better, creating "the most secure elections in history," as some have brayed. Rammed through blue-state legislatures, these reforms have created conditions for extended countings, making election day into election season. "Count all the ballots," they yawp, claiming they've "extended" the franchise, and made elections "more inclusive." Who could be against that? Apparently, just about every voter out there. According to this I&I/TIPP poll:The recent midterm elections were once again marked by claims of voter fraud and possible ballot manipulation behind the scenes by partisan...

Democrat Kris Mayes is the winner of Arizona's attorney general race, a state judge announced Thursday. Mayes defeated Republican Abraham Hamadeh by 280 votes after a mandatory recount was triggered due to how close they were separated after the initial tally in November, when Mayes led by roughly 500 votes out of 2.5 million cast. Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Timothy Thomason unveiled the results of the recount in a hearing on Thursday. Mayes' lead from November was nearly halved in the recount. The results showed she had 1,254,809 votes to Hamadeh’s 1,254,529 votes. Mayes' victory is another win for...

The Biden White House is taking the offensive against incoming House Republicans and their plans to launch oversight actions once the next session of Congress starts, sending letters through a special counsel informing Reps. James Comer, R-Ky., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, that the administration has no plans at this time to respond to the records requests they have been making. Special Counsel Richard Sauber, in the letters obtained exclusively by Politico, said the requests are not legitimate under the Constitution because Jordan and Comer have not yet been delegated to head their committees. Sauber, a top oversight lawyer for the...

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the...
