Major financial investors on Wall Street have set their sights on a new target for acquisition, buying up mobile home parks across the country only to raise the cost of rent and other fees that mobile home owners must pay. The Daily Caller reports that such investors include private equity firms and real estate investment trusts. These buyers have turned to purchasing mobile home parks and raising rent for tenants who are either stuck at a low income or are actually disabled. One state that has been affected is Minnesota, where out-of-state purchases of mobile home parks nearly doubled between...

Higher prices have taken a toll. In an economy that has produced the highest inflation rate since 1981, Americans are struggling to keep up with expenses and are putting less money aside for emergencies or long-term financial goals, several recent studies show.

Democrat Rep. David N "Spare Me The B------- about Constitutional Rights" Cicilline and others have said the quiet part out loud: they want to ban almost all semi-automatic weapons in common use. If you wondered why the nation's socialist news cabal American Pravda suddenly decided to drop the terms "assault weapon" and "assault rifle" from their propaganda lexicon, your answer was soon forthcoming in their triumphant announcement of their next onslaught against your sensible civil rights: "Democrats push for 1st semi-automatic gun ban in 20 years." In a tyrannical two-for-one special, not only have the enemies of liberty of the...

The Biden Administration has announced that it is releasing the next Notice of Sale for crude oil from the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) for 20 million barrels. As part of the Tuesday announcement, the White House cited a “new analysis” from the Department of Treasure that estimates that the previous SPR releases that the White House pegs at 125 million barrels—along with the releases of crude oil from foreign partners as well—has reduced gasoline prices by “up to about 40 cents per gallon”. Not compared to what they were, but “compared to what they would have been absent these...

The prevailing vision of environmentalism today caters to a global oligarchy. "A filing cabinet of human lives Where people swarm like bees in tunneled hives, Each to his own cell in the covered comb, Identical and cramped—we call it home." — Gerald Raftery, "Apartment House" The conventional wisdom among America’s liberals, often seconded and rarely challenged by conservatives, is that population growth in the United States should be channeled as much as possible into the footprint of existing cities. Surrounding cities should be “greenbelts,” suburban growth should be rejected as unsustainable “sprawl,” and human settlement in areas defined as the...

Progressive politicians, such as Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, have attacked pro-life pregnancy centers in the wake of Roe v. Wade’s overturn, going as far as to call for them to be shut down across the country. But the women who run these centers say nothing could be further from the truth. Fox News Digital hopped on a call with four Mississippi crisis pregnancy center leaders for an interview and learned how these centers are supporting the families they serve from pregnancies and beyond.

The video editing is confusing, and time stamps are often absent. This correspondent has been able to puzzle out the chain of events with...

We've seen screaming rage mainstreamed like this before. It did not end well for anyone. Different people have different emotional styles — a fact that is important today, because the Democrat party, which used to sound moderate, is now specializing in screaming rage. When New York gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin was nearly murdered by a knife-wielding thug the other day, we probably saw a direct result of screaming rage being broadcast, over and over again, by the Big Media. We should not be surprised if this happens more often in this political climate. The woke left today is full of...

Napping on a regular basis is associated with higher risks for high blood pressure and stroke, according to research. Researchers examined whether frequent naps could be a potential causal risk factor for high blood pressure and/or stroke. This is the first study to use both observational analysis of participants over a long period of time and Mendelian randomization—a genetic risk validation. Wang's group excluded records of people who had already had a stroke or had high blood pressure before the start of the stufy. The study found: - A higher percentage of usual-nappers were men, had lower education and income...

IPray For The Peace of JerusalemGenesis 4747 Joseph went and told Pharaoh, “My father and brothers, with their flocks and herds and everything they own, have come from the land of Canaan and are now in Goshen.” 2 He chose five of his brothers and presented them before Pharaoh. 3 Pharaoh asked the brothers, “What is your occupation?” “Your servants are shepherds,” they replied to Pharaoh, “just as our fathers were.” 4 They also said to him, “We have come to live here for a while, because the famine is severe in Canaan and your servants’ flocks have no pasture....

Why my friends and I had more wisdom when we were 12 than college students and faculty have today. The average 12-year-old student at a yeshiva has more wisdom than almost any student at Harvard or most other universities. (A yeshiva is an Orthodox Jewish school with an emphasis on religious studies. About half the school day is devoted to religious studies—taught from the original Hebrew sources.) This is probably true for many 12-year-olds in traditional Christian schools as well. College students do have more knowledge than almost any 12-year-old in religious school. But they have much less wisdom. I...

Here it is. Fox News carried Pence's speech, NOT Trump's, a former president. Think about that! Pence's was nothing more than a hard-boiled regurgitation of nonsense, defeatism and dispair. Please listen to this great man, who humbly speaks of where we were and where we should be going. He gives concrete ideas, and objectives. He numbers them. It's very uplifting. This is a must watch, folks!!!! This is still a great country.

European gas prices rose 9%, trading close to its earlier all-time high after Russia invaded Ukraine. Critics accuse the Russian government of using gas as a political weapon. Russia has been cutting flows through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline to Germany, with it now operating at less than a fifth of its normal capacity. Germany imports 55% of its gas from Russia and most of it comes through Nord Stream 1 - with the rest coming from land-based pipelines. Russian energy firm Gazprom has sought to justify the latest cut by saying it was needed to allow maintenance work on...

Connecticut is a small state, so you may not be paying sufficient attention to its heroic efforts to save the planet. Count on the Manhattan Contrarian to bring you up to date on the latest developments. On Friday (July 22) Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont signed the just-passed bipartisan Clean Air Act for the state. Lamont and other state officials gathered in New Haven in 90+ degree heat to celebrate the great accomplishment. A State Senator named Will Haskell, who is a member of the legislature’s Transportation Committee, took the occasion to make the main point: We cannot wait for Washington...

A study finds following a time-restricted eating (TRE) protocol, which limits food to a 10-hour window, shows promising beneficial metabolic effects in adults with type 2 diabetes (T2D). TRE is a strategy for improving metabolic health and is intended to counteract the detrimental effects of eating throughout the day by limiting the duration of food intake (typically 12 hours or less) and restore the cycle of daytime eating and prolonged fasting during the evening and night. Previous studies show that TRE leads to promising metabolic changes in people with overweight or obesity, including increased fat burning, decreased blood sugar levels...

Time for the LGBTQ+s to show what they’re made of. The question:If refraining from sexual contact for three-to-eight weeks could save lives and put a stop to suffering in your community, would you do it? The history:Monkeypox is an animal virus that can be transmitted to and between humans. In 1970, the first human case of monkeypox was identified in a child in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It has appeared since then mostly in tropical African countries. The 2003 outbreak in the U.S. was via infected prairie dog pets that had been housed with infected animals imported from...
