Monkeypox, an African virus reported to cause painful lesions on the genitals of those infected, has been almost unheard of in the Western World but began spreading through Europe, the United States, and other Western nations after it was widely transmitted at a pair of gay sex parties.

More human remains have been found at Lake Mead, marking the third set discovered in the area since early May.
