MICHIGAN—With less than one week until the primary election on August 2, the state’s political balance could hinge on which candidates make their way through to the general elections. Republican incumbents than any time in recent memory—representing an ideological gap that threatens to splinter the party and drain candidates’ resources leading up to competitive general elections against Democrats in November. He didn’t return to the courtroom for the afternoon start of testimony, which included Infowars producer Daria Karpova taking the stand. Jones’ media company designated Karpova to testify about Infowars’ audience reach, and some of the video produced by the website after the Sandy Hook shooting. The trial took a break for the rest of the day before she finished planned testimony.

“Then a scribe came and said to Him, ‘Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.’ Jesus said to him, ‘The foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head’” (Matthew 8:19–20). There is no record that the eager scribe ever counted the cost of discipleship. When considering various costs such as self-denial, homelessness, and maybe suffering, the man disappears. No doubt Christ’s words struck where he was most vulnerable, and he could not overcome loyalty to himself and his comfort. Jesus never watered down the gospel...

Scripture solemnly commands us, “Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do” (Colossians 3:12-13, NKJV). Bearing with someone and forgiving them are two different issues. Bearing with someone, or forbearing, means ceasing from all acts and thoughts of revenge. It says, in other words, “Don’t take matters into your own hands. Instead, endure the hurt. Lay the matter down and leave it alone.” We are given...

The jersey has rainbow stripes and a rainbow collar — in place of the regular white sections — to support LGBTQ inclusion in sports, and the club plans to use it for one game against Sydney Roosters. Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler on Tuesday said seven players advised club officials that wearing the pride jersey conflicts with their cultural and religious beliefs. “The players will not play on Thursday and we accept their...

From September 2021 to July, the Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded three crude oil contracts with a combined value of roughly $464 million to Unipec America, the U.S. trading arm of Chinese state-owned oil company Sinopec, according to a review by The Epoch Times of the DOE documents. Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt is surging in the Republican Senate primary, according to three recent polls, as support for former Gov. Eric Greitens falls amid relentless attacks over the allegations of physical abuse and sexual assault against him. The polls, all conducted within the past week, show Schmitt in the lead and Greitens in third, behind Rep. Vicky Hartzler. The surveys do not necessarily mean Schmitt will win the Aug. 2 election, but together they indicate his campaign has gained momentum at Greitens’ expense in the final days of the race.

Neo-Nazi demonstrators in Florida climbed out from under their rock again on Saturday, this time outside a major Republican conference, Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit, held in Tampa. They put their hate-filled ideology on full and repugnant display, waving flags with swastikas and white-supremacist SS bolts, hoisting placards with anti-Semitic slurs. And somewhere in the mix of demonstrators, a “DeSantis Country” flag was unfurled. A spokesman for Turning Point USA, a right-wing student group, disavowed the hate mongers. “Turning Point 100% condemns these ideologies in the strongest of terms,” Andrew Kolvet said. He said his group didn’t know who...

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Pope Francis donned a traditional Cherokee Indian headdress this week in preparation for a meeting with Native American Congresswoman Elizabeth Warren. "It's time for the Catholic church to apologize for what we did to indigenous people, and I think Senator Warren's tribe may be ready to hear what I have to say," said the Pope. "Catholics' brutal practice of adopting orphaned children from stone age tribes that practiced cannibalism and human sacrifice is horrible. To make matters worse, we even educated these orphaned children in the ways of the Catholic church. This is unforgivable." Sources close to...

The two nearly tied when all the votes were counted, with Oz coming out on top by less than 1,000 votes. Barnette began surging in the polls during the final days of the race, as the battle between Oz and...

Higher interest rates won’t end skyrocketing energy prices caused by Vladimir Putin’s war on Ukraine. They won’t fix supply chains still reeling from the pandemic. And they won’t break up the corporate monopolies that Mr. Powell admitted in January could be “raising prices because they can.”
