In a long overdue ruling, the US Supreme Court voided New York's severe restrictions on the right of law-abiding citizens' to use firearms to defend themselves. In New York, no one is allowed to carry a gun outside his or her residence unless they could prove to the police's satisfaction that they need it. Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) called the Court's ruling "outrageous. Who do they think they are telling us what laws we can't have? They are inviting mayhem. If crooks and their victims are both armed what would otherwise be peaceful robberies and rapes can turn into shootouts....

As news spread Friday of the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn its landmark 1973 Roe vs. Wade ruling, ending constitutional protections for abortion, thousands of protesters rallied across Southern California. In downtown Los Angeles, where crowds had amassed at Pershing Square and the federal courthouse, some demonstrators made their way onto the 110 Freeway, temporarily blocking traffic. A different group of protesters clashed with a line of police who tried to block them from advancing down an onramp. Aerial footage from KABC-TV Channel 7 showed protesters spanning the northbound lanes of the freeway around 7 p.m., marching toward the 101...

“Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame. Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another. Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away. A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver” (Proverbs 25:8-9).

Law enforcement officers in Phoenix, Arizona used tear gas to break up a sizable group of protesters outside the state's Senate building following the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn the landmark abortion ruling Roe v. Wade. "Protesters threatened to break the AZ Senate entryway glass," Republican Arizona State Senator Wendy Rogers tweeted, as members were in the middle of voting on a series of bills. The situation escalated into a "hostage" situation as lawmakers were instructed not to exit the building, Republican Arizona State Senator Kelly Townsend said. "We are currently there being held hostage inside the Senate building...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — While the U.S. Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade, abortion rights in California will still be intact. But how will clinics be able to handle the huge influx of women from other states where abortion access is either banned or severely restricted? Cheri Greven with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte said in the days and weeks ahead, their clinics will start seeing a large number of patients. They are getting ready to serve women from around 26 states, who are expected to come to California seeking abortions. "California could see an influx of 3,000% patients from out...

Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) on Friday said conservative Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch misled her about their views on the importance of Supreme Court precedent during their confirmation proceedings in 2017 and 2018. Collins, who voted to confirm then-President Trump’s first two conservative nominees to the court despite her support for abortion rights, has said she believed those justices would hold up important precedents such as Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 decision that established a constitutional right to abortion. A court majority that included Kavanaugh and Gorsuch struck down that right on Friday. “This decision is inconsistent with...

A group of pro-abortion protesters was filmed apparently chanting, “**** Joe Biden” and “**** Glenn Youngkin,” in Richmond, Virginia, Friday evening. The demonstrators gathered to protest the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overruled Roe v. Wade. Despite President Joe Biden’s governing agenda being one of the most progressive in the history of the nation — including supporting pro-abortion policies and calling it a “fundamental right” on Friday — left-wing protesters appear to not be satisfied with the president as Roe was overturned during his administration. Watch: None of the Justices who presided...

Liberal Twitter users have taken to the platform to blast the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg following the court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade on Friday. While a number of journalist lay the blame at former President Trump who got to appoint three conservative justices during his time in the White House, things took a surprising turn when attention shifted to RBG. Several users saw it fit to blame the late Supreme Court Justice for the court's landmark decision on abortion with some suggesting that had she decided to step down sooner while President Obama was in...

U.S. Senators Joe Manchin and Susan Collins slammed Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch for their votes in overturning Roe v Wade on Friday. The senators had voted to confirm the Donald Trump appointed justices despite fears that they would overtrun the landmark abortion ruling, with the senators saying at the time that they trusted Kavanaugh and Gorsuch to uphold the law. Now Collins, a Republican, and Manchin, a Democrat, are accusing the justices of misleading them as they criticized the court's 5-4 ruling to end women's federal right to an abortion. 'This decision is inconsistent with what...

Pro-abortion protesters took to the streets of Los Angeles, California, on Friday — and held up traffic on the highway — to express their support for the systematic killing of unborn children. “This decision must not stand! Legal abortion on demand!” the protesters repeatedly chanted in the streets of the crime-ridden city of Los Angeles. Watch Below: “Do they not know abortion is and will remain legal in California?” one Twitter user reacted. “Who wants to tell them that abortion will be legal in California and this ruling won’t affect a single woman living there,” another echoed. On Friday, the...

MYKOLAIV OBLAST – Early on, Ukraine’s south became one of the hardest-hit regions of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Moving out of occupied Crimea, Russians sacked the southern regional capital of Kherson on March 2. Soon, they reached the outskirts of the major port city of Mykolaiv. The 80-kilometer stretch of land between the two regional capitals became a heavily contested front line, destroying villages en masse and forcing locals to hide in basements fearing for their lives. “We sleep in the cellar. Myself, my mom, and my child,” said Anna Volynets, a resident of Kotlyareve, a small village located on the...

The Supreme Court has overturned its 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling and now the issue of abortion will be part of our national debate as much as ever. Here are some of the many reasons the usual arguments in favor of abortion are wrong.Pro-Abortion Claim: The government should stay out of people’s private lives. This is a woman’s choice, not anyone else’s, and a women’s rights issue. Why It’s Wrong: Laws often restrict an individual’s rights, including the right to hurt another person or infringe upon another’s rights. In taking the life of an unborn child, a woman is taking away...

A mural featuring founding father and first U.S. President George Washington including images of slaves will not be removed after a reconfigured San Francisco school board reversed the earlier board’s decision. Three board members were rejected in February and the board voted 4-3 on Wednesday to nullify the decision over the mural on display at Washington High School. The move comes after almost three years of legal battles and debate over the 1,600-foot mural, a 1936 fresco, painted on wet plaster, the work of Russian artist Victor Arnautoff, commissioned as part of the Works Progress Administration public art program. Social...

Engineers at the European Space Agency (ESA) are getting ready for a Windows 98 upgrade on an orbiter circling Mars. The Mars Express spacecraft has been operating for more than 19 years, and the Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionospheric Sounding (MARSIS) instrument onboard has been using software built using Windows 98. Thankfully for humanity and the Red Planet’s sake, the ESA isn’t upgrading its systems to Windows ME. The MARSIS instrument on ESA’s Mars Express was key to the discovery of a huge underground aquifer of liquid water on the Red Planet in 2018. This major new software...
