For my job, I come in contact with many people from states where masking is maybe not "mandatory" but heavily and socially encouraged. The people ask me if they have to wear a mask, and I say no, this is Texas, and I would say the vast majority basically say, thank God.

France will ban non-essential travel to and from Britain from the weekend to slow the spread of the Omicron Covid-19 variant that is causing record numbers of cases on the other side of the Channel, the government has said. From midnight Saturday there will be a "requirement to have an essential reason to travel to, or come from, the UK, both for the unvaccinated and vaccinated ... People cannot travel for touristic or professional reasons," the government said in a statement, adding that French citizens and EU nationals could still return to France from the UK.

The grim predictions mean that “a total of 837,000 to 845,000 COVID-19 deaths will be reported by this date,” the CDC said in its latest update from Wednesday. In addition, the number of new daily confirmed hospital admissions will likely increase over the next month, with 6,300 to 18,400 likely reported on Jan. 7, the...

Essentially Gilliam was canceled by the Old Vic for engaging in wrong think. Not one to keep his opinion to himself, Gilliam blasted the move as the theater caving to a minute mob of woke complainers. Gilliam...

Inflation has reached its highest level in decades. While we're not yet in a situation like we had in the 1970s -- and we can hope that the Federal Reserve will regain control before it reaches that point -- there are still plenty of reasons to be upset that inflation is getting so out of hand. Inflation is commonly defined as a general increase in prices, leaving our money with less purchasing power. When the prices of goods and services increase faster than wages, workers essentially take a pay cut. Savers and those who receive interest payments also lose out....

Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly told a Senate panel on Wednesday that the air in passenger jets' cabins is so clean that face masks "don't add much" additional protection against the spread of COVID-19 on planes. "The statistics, I recall, is that 99.97 percent of airborne pathogens are captured by the HEPA [high-efficiency particulate air] filtering system, and it's turned over every two or three minutes," Kelly told the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee during a hearing on airline oversight. “I think the case is very strong that masks don’t add much, if anything, in the air cabin,” he...

Many earnest but ill-informed Americans legitimately wonder how the economy could have done so well under former President Donald Trump yet go spectacularly south in such a short time under President Joe Biden. The answer to that question is straightforward. Trump doesn't believe that the government should run the economy. Biden and his puppet masters think the government should run the economy, and that they should run the government. They're wrong. There are at least two good reasons why no individual or small cadre of people should "run" the economy: First, people are frequently wrong, even in subjects they know...

The CDC's latest count of deaths attributed to COVID-19 vaccines is nearly 20,000, but a study by researchers at Columbia University estimates the actual number is 20 times higher. The Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System, or VAERS, reports 19,886 deaths, 102,857 hospitalizations and a total of 946,461 adverse events due to COVID-19 vaccines through Dec. 3. If the Columbia study's underreporting factor is correct, it would mean that there are nearly 400,000 deaths due to COVID-19 vaccines. In the study's abstract, the researchers note that "accurate estimates of COVID vaccine-induced severe adverse event and death rates are critical for risk-benefit...

Approximately 168,000 of the 800,000 U.S. COVID-19 deaths could have been prevented by the Covid vaccines, a new analysis finds. The Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) analyzed Covid death data in the U.S., and found that tens-of-thousands of deaths over the past six months could have been prevented if people had gotten vaccinated. They used the death rate among fully vaccinated people - who do occasionally die from the virus despite the overall rarity - and calculated how many unvaccinated people would have lived if they had received the jab. September and October were especially brutal, with a combined 92,800 deaths...
