A team of experts has found a mummy estimated to be at least 800 years old on Peru's central coast, one of the archaeologists who participated in the excavation said on Friday. Both Italy and Germany reported on Saturday that they had detected cases of the omicron COVID-19 variant, adding to a handful of countries that have found the new variant within their borders.
