ARKANSAS -- Clay Newcomb is on a personal mission to explore things forgotten in a digital world that moves past people and experiences at the speed of light. He revels in places, communities, traditions and lives that still remain deeply relevant to a lot of people and cultures across our country but risk being lost. It was a mission he began long before he began producing his popular "Bear Grease" podcast , part of the iconic MeatEater podcast family. Newcomb, whose Instagram photos often show him sitting on a mule unironically, admits he never saw any of this coming. "It...

A man wakes up in the hospital bandaged from head to foot. The doctor comes in and says, "Ah, I see you've regained consciousness. Now, you probably won't remember, but you were in a huge pile-up on the freeway. You're going to be okay, you'll walk again and everything, however, your penis was severed in the accident and we couldn't find it."... The man groans, but the doctor goes on, "You have $9000 in insurance compensation coming and we now have the technology to build a new penis. They work great but they don't come cheap. It's roughly $1000 an...

President Biden said last week that his house burned down with his wife Jill Biden inside before trying to correct himself, adding to a long list of personal stories he’s embellished over the years. Speaking on a New Hampshire bridge on Tuesday about his bipartisan infrastructure plan, Biden said, "Without this bridge, as I said earlier, it’s a 10-mile detour just to get to the other side. And I know, having had a house burn down with my wife in it — she got out safely, God willing — that having a significant portion of it burn, I can tell:...

Two lawyers who unsuccessfully sued to overturn the results of the 2020 U.S. election must pay almost $187,000 to cover the legal fees spent by Facebook Inc., Dominion Voting Systems Inc. and others defending the lawsuit. U.S. Magistrate Judge N. Reid Neureiter said the lawyers — Gary Fielder of Denver and Ernest John Walker, of Benton Harbor, Michigan — must take responsibility for their conduct because the defendants in the “pointless and unjustified lawsuit” were defamed in public court filings. “This lawsuit has been used to manipulate gullible members of the public and foment public unrest,” the judge wrote in...

A daughter of Malcolm X was found dead Monday inside her Brooklyn home, sources said. Malikah Shabazz, 56, was discovered by her daughter inside the Midwood residence at about 4:40 p.m., the sources said. Investigators do not suspect foul play, sources said. An autopsy will determine Shabazz’s cause of death. NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said Tuesday that Shabazz had been “ill for a period of time” but didn’t elaborate. “At this point in time, working with other authorities, the medical examiner, and speaking to the family, she had been ill for a period of time, and at this point, nothing...

You’ve heard the saying, “If you don’t like the heat, then get out of the kitchen.” Well, that only works if you’re not called to be in the kitchen. For those of us who are called to be there, it would be better to say, “Get used to the heat and get in the kitchen.” When it comes to the conflicts and controversies of our day, if we love God and we love our neighbor, do we really have a choice? On a daily basis, often from many different sides, I get blasted for positions I take in writing or...

Charlie is joined by Dennis Prager and Larry Elder LIVE in Phoenix, Ariz. hosted by Charlie's Phoenix radio affiliate, Salem 960 AM "The Patriot." The event begins with the provocative questions: Are we headed for civil war or national divorce? What ensues is an important discussion about the values that unite or divide the American left and right, and what can be done about it. Are we able to find common ground? Or are we already in a cold civil war in which we must seek to defeat an evil ideology?

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) knocked former President Trump on Monday, pointing to the former president’s loss in Old Line State during the 2020 presidential election. “Personally, I'd prefer endorsements from people who didn’t lose Maryland by 33 points,” Hogan wrote on Twitter shortly after Trump announced that he was endorsing Maryland state Del. Daniel Cox (R) for governor in next year’s GOP primary. Hogan, who is barred from running for reelection due to term limits, is backing state Secretary of Commerce Kelly Schultz in the Maryland race. Trump lost the 2020 presidential election in Maryland to Democratic-nominee Joe Biden...

The most famous words of Franklin Roosevelt, America's longest-serving president, were, "The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." One wonders if any world leader would or could say that today. We live in the Age of Fear. All of my life, I thought love and hate were the two most powerful human emotions. But owing to recent events, I have changed my mind. I now understand that for most people, fear is the strongest emotion. In fact, I've come to realize that it is possible to get people to do anything if you instill enough fear in...

Amaney Jamal is a Princeton dean. Not the dean of something silly like diversity. She’s the newly appointed dean of Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs. Following the verdicts in the Kyle Rittenhouse case, Jamal sent an email to the public affairs school community. The email was straight from the George Floyd playbook. Jamal offered counseling for public affairs school students who require professional help to “process” the outcome of the Rittenhouse trial. One might have thought that graduate students at one of America’s top universities could “process” the outcome themselves. But Jamal herself clearly needs help with that...

What if Darrell Brooks had been shot dead by police officers while fleeing a felony in Waukesha, Wis., Sunday afternoon — and never got near that tragic city’s Christmas parade? Would the nation’s cities be in flames once again? Odds are the answer is yes — and that sad but entirely reasonable projection speaks loudly to the deranged state of law enforcement in America today. And, in particular, to the nation’s bewildering inability — make that unwillingness — to confront the chaos and lethal violence now plaguing its cities. Brooks was charged with five counts of murder Monday as Wisconsin...

If you and your family members are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, it's OK for you to ditch the masks this holiday season when you're around each other, Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNN Sunday. "That's what I'm going to do with my family," Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, told CNN's Dana Bash on "State of the Union." However, the nation's top infectious disease expert also noted if you are traveling or are unaware of the vaccination status of the people around you, then you should wear a mask "Get vaccinated and you can enjoy...

My (extremely liberal) company in New Jersey has issued a mandate based on Biden’s “vaccine” mandate for companies who are also federal contractors. The originally deadline was October, but kept getting kicked down the road with delays, and court stays. Now it seems like the Jan 5th deadline is it. If my “vax” card is not loaded into their confidential system by the 4th, I will be terminated with no severance on Jan 5th, after 7+ years of impeccable service and dedication. However there’s more to just not wanting to get the shot. I was approved to move out of...

Black Lives Matter activist Vaun Mayes suggested the Waukesha Christmas parade attack on Sunday might be linked to retaliation for the Kyle Rittenhouse case verdict. Mayes speculated despite there being no evidence of a connection between the verdict and the attack. He arrived at the scene of the parade attack on Monday and addressed his audience on Facebook in a livestream video. Black Lives Matter activist Vaun L Mayes @YungLz at the scene of the Waukesha parade attack: "It sounds like the revolution has started," mentions hearing from a source who believes Darrell Brooks may have been motivated by the...
