Abortion supporters and media figures readily applaud Olympic athletes when they identify as “pro-choice.” But the personal stories of other Olympic stars about the tragedy of abortion should give them pause. One such story comes from Sanya Richards-Ross. The four-time gold medalist first revealed that she had an abortion in her book “Chasing Grace,” published in 2017. On Aug. 11, the track and field athlete shared more of her story with Bleacher Report host Master Tesfatsion, during his show called “Untold Stories.” Among other things, Richards-Ross emphasized her reliance on God for healing and forgiveness after her abortion – an...

With the Taliban growing more violent and adding checkpoints near Kabul's airport, an all-volunteer group of American veterans of the Afghan war launched a final daring mission on Wednesday night dubbed the "Pineapple Express" to shepherd hundreds of at-risk Afghan elite forces and their families to safety, members of the group told ABC News. Moving after nightfall in near-pitch black darkness and extremely dangerous conditions, the group said it worked unofficially in tandem with the United States military and U.S. embassy to move people, sometimes one person at a time, or in pairs, but rarely more than a small bunch,...

WASHINGTON, Monday, Aug. 26. The Engineer Corps of the New-York Fourteenth Militia has been discharged from the service by the War Department, on application of Senator SPINOLA. Their discharge had been granted previous to the battle of Bull Run, but at the request of Col. WOOD they remained and participated in the fight, and their discharge was in possession of Col. WOOD when he was taken prisoner. They had enlisted as an Engineer Corps, and as no such arm of service attached to a regiment is recognized by the General Government, they were discharged. Large amounts of clothing are arriving...

On August 14, Secretary of State Blinken spoke with Afghanistan’s former president and promised that the Biden administration would provide a bulk shipment of dollars. The next day Kabul fell. On that same call, Afghanistan’s former leader had agreed to surrender power to the Taliban. The Biden administration had effectively agreed to provide a massive infusion of cash to the Taliban. But the final deal fell through, the Afghan government fled, and the Taliban took Kabul. The bulk shipment of dollars never did arrive. Biden’s diplomats scrambled to evacuate from Kabul. Ajmal Ahmady, the governor of DAB, Afghanistan's central bank,...

The complex web of seaports, container ships, and trucking companies that move goods worldwide remains deeply tangled. More than 18 months since the virus pandemic forced governments to shut down their economies and, in return, disrupt global supply chains. The emergence of the Delta variant has metastasized into more logistical hell for shippers. Bloomberg spoke with companies on the front line of production and transportation to gather intel of what was happening on the ground. What they discovered was increasing supply chain disruption that will persist through 2022. “We do not expect freight rates to stabilize in the near term,”...

In March 2020, HBO aired a Brian Stelter-produced documentary, "After Truth: Disinformation and the Cost of Fake News," which typically focused on how a "mainstream media" dedicated to truth had to expose and defeat pro-Trump kooks and grifters, such as InfoWars, which claimed the Sandy Hook school shooting was faked. New York Times TV critic James Poniewozik celebrated Stelter, a Times alumnus, for his focus: "Its strongest animating idea is that fake news is not simply a political abstraction. It's a real offense that harms real people." It's different for pro-Obama kooks and grifters. In August and September 2021, HBO...

Radical environmentalist groups that actively back Democrats have hunting in their crosshairs. And unsurprisingly, they’re exploiting the COVID-19 pandemic to target this pastime. The Center for Biological Diversity and Natural Resources Defense Council, two organizations who’ve made suing the government a cottage industry, are directly petitioning the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) to undermine wildlife management practices, including hunting, here in the U.S. If accepted by the government, they’ll undermine the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation that’s allowed our nation to successfully recover imperiled species and restore critical habitat. Here’s...

Pray For the Peace of JerusalemPsalm 147 1 Praise the Lord.[a] How good it is to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him! 2 The Lord builds up Jerusalem; he gathers the exiles of Israel. 3 He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. 4 He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name. 5 Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit. 6 The Lord sustains the humble but casts the wicked to the ground. 7 Sing to the Lord with grateful praise; make...

We are so screwed. On inauguration day, I knew a rough ride lay ahead, a path filled with the worst ideas of the left. After a half-year of Joe Biden, the Obama presidency seemed more innocuous, and the Clinton years look positively Churchillian. Insane spending, disastrous climate extremism, heavy contributions to our cultural rot—I expected those. And I expected horrid foreign policy guidance from a team of egghead academics wholly unappreciative of the toughness needed to position America in a dangerous world. But this Afghan disaster is something I rarely experience: a surprise. The exit decision was not a surprise....

What I refer to as the “Greatest Scientific Fraud Of All Time” is the systematic alteration of historical world temperatures to make it appear, falsely, that the most recent months and years are the “warmest ever.” The basic technique of the fraud is the artificial lowering of previously-reported data as to world temperatures in earlier years, in order to erase earlier warmth and amplify the apparent warming trend. This is the 28th post in this series. The previous post in the series appeared on October 5, 2020. To view all 27 prior posts, you can go to this composite link....

Rip those stars off your pathetic nostalgia costumes and resign. Quit. Tell that crusty Pinocchio in the White House and the faculty lounge Geppettos tugging his strings that you will have no more to do with his human centipede of failure in Kabul. It’s not hard – your stars are right there, generals, right on the shoulders of those new uniforms you decided to adopt with the express purpose of evoking World War II and the memory of victory over a modern, peer-competitor military. Maybe, you thought, wearing winner’s gear would ease the pain of getting creamed by a bunch...

Another large government entity is apparently going to pay people not to do something they shouldn’t be doing anyway. Have I got a deal for them! In what is clearly becoming “a thing,” as the kids say, another large government entity is apparently going to pay people not to do something they shouldn’t be doing anyway. New York City is essentially going to pay $1,000 a month to violent young thugs not to murder anyone. And now California appears set to pay drug addicts to stay sober. The California program would allow people to earn payments for every negative drug...

Most people stick with their initial position regardless of any new information or evidence that subsequently comes to light, evidence that factually undermines their first publicly stated opinion. This is a pretty reliable constant in human emotional behavior. Rare is the individual who is so secure and confident of their own self-image that they can freely and easily say, “Thanks, that’s great information! I guess my initial impressions were wrong. I appreciate you setting me straight with these new facts.” Most people are loath to admit that they are wrong about anything. It could be about the record of a...

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve had an email debate with a Biden supporter who objected to one of my articles on American Thinker. We’ll call him Lloyd. It’s proven to be a fascinating window into the thinking of those who supported Biden in the last election. I always thought “Trump Derangement Syndrome” (TDS) was a funny way to describe the enthusiasm with which the left detests Donald Trump. However, after my interaction with Lloyd, I get it now. TDS is a real malady -- created by the gaslighting and propaganda of the left. Those suffering from it don’t...

There has been predictable silence from the vast majority of my Democratic friends on the utter incompetence of the Biden administration. These are the same people who spent four years obsessively posting and tweeting that the very existence of the Republic was at stake every time Trump issued a "mean tweet." While the Afghanistan fiasco is dominating the news, the administration's blunders extend to a number of other spheres — the southern border, which is basically open to anyone; inflation skyrocketing at rates we haven't seen for decades; out-of-control spending; record-high crime in cities thoroughly run by Democrats; bad actors...

A popular conservative radio talk show host’s entry into California’s gubernatorial recall race has upended predictions for the outcome as both Democrats and some Republicans now work to defeat him. Syndicated radio personality Larry Elder, 69, announced six weeks ago his bid to replace Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom in the Sept. 14 recall election, months after other Republicans began throwing their hats in the ring. Polls show a tight race as GOP voters are particularly galvanized, raising the prospect of a Newsom defeat in the nation’s most populous state. Known as the “Sage from South Central” to fans, Elder has...

After weeks of scoffing at the bipartisan effort to recall Governor Gavin Newsom as a “GOP stunt,” CNN finally discovered Democrat voters are just as fed up with Newsom. On Don Lemon Tonight on Wednesday, correspondent Kyung Lah seemed shocked to learn that lifelong Democratic voters in the dark blue state were turning on Newsom and supporting the recall effort. Host Don Lemon opened Lah’s report touting how President Biden was traveling to California “to help” the embattled Democratic governor, as the September 14 special election looms near. Even Lemon noted Newsom was struggling to keep his own voters: “And...

Scientists have discovered that fully vaccinated individuals carry 251 times the viral load of Covid in their nostrils compared to the unvaccinated. The researchers, who detailed their findings in a paper by the prestigious Oxford University Clinical Research Group published Aug. 10 in The Lancet, found that while the jab moderates symptoms of infection, it also allows vaccinated individuals to carry unusually high viral loads without becoming ill at first, potentially transforming them into pre-symptomatic superspreaders.

In his National Review articles, Kevin D. Williamson has a long history denigrating conservatives—especially Trump supporters -- and he doesn’t disappoint with “Get Stuck, Dummy.” The title speaks for itself but his true feelings surface a few paragraphs in when he demands “Get vaccinated, you f***ing dopes.” It’s not the F word that popped my cork as much as calling people who delay vaccination “dummies and dopes.” He joins a growing chorus in the Democrat-Media Complex who share those sentiments. The article is an exercise in futility, failing to make a fact-based argument to support his thesis that unvaccinated conservatives,...
