A growing fight is unfolding across the U.S. as cities consider phasing out natural gas for home cooking and heating, citing concerns about climate change, and states push back against these bans. Major cities including San Francisco, Seattle, Denver and New York have either enacted or proposed measures to ban or discourage the use of the fossil fuel in new homes and buildings, two years after Berkeley, Calif., passed the first such prohibition in the U.S. in 2019. The bans in turn have led Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Kansas and Louisiana to enact laws outlawing such municipal prohibitions in their...

Students in Washington DC eagerly signed a fake petition to ‘cancel Memorial Day’, agreeing that the holiday “celebrates American Imperialism.”Campus Reform reporter Addison Smith conducted the experiment to get an idea of how many students would happily forget about the day of remembrance for fallen US heroes.Smith managed to get 50 signatures in a short time, with some condemning the holiday before even reading the petition. One student said “I don’t think Memorial Day should be a thing that we celebrate… I feel like it’s a celebration of U.S. imperialism and colonialism.”The student added “I didn’t really think in this way...

The consensus of the scientific community and international public health organizations is that the coronavirus emerged from bats and later jumped to humans. But the doctor’s interview on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" quickly took off, inspiring a rash of social media posts parroting her claims. "Just now on Tucker Carlson it was revealed that CORONAVIRUS was CREATED in Wuhan Lab and released INTENTIONALLY," says a Sept. 15 Facebook post. Some of those posts were flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed.

WASHINGTON — President Biden on Monday had his first known sit-down visit to a DC restaurant since becoming president — joined by Vice President Kamala Harris and their spouses after a Memorial Day event at Arlington National Cemetery. The unscheduled stop caught diners off guard at the popular French restaurant Le Diplomate, where first lady Jill Biden met with friends for boozy mid-week lunches while her husband was vice president.

In an op-ed for the Washington Post, Gergory Khalil has called for evangelical Christians to rethink their “reflexive” support of Israel. Not only is Khalil’s call misguided, it also presents a caricatured (and even distorted) picture of evangelical support for Israel, also misrepresenting the history of “Christian Zionism.”As for Khalil’s call being misguided, why should the most recent terrorist attacks against Israel cause evangelicals to support Israel less? Why should a murderous assault on Israeli citizens, including children and women, lessen our sense of solidarity with the Jewish people and Jewish state? And, if this support is ultimately grounded in...

An Oregon middle school was exposed by furious parents after likening her colleagues to pedophiles and warning them they'd be fired if they refused to teach critical race theory. Katherine Watkins, an 8th grade humanities teacher at Cedar Park Middle School in Beaverton, Portland, told colleagues during a Zoom 'equity conference' that if they were 'going to keep up those old views of colonialism, it's going to lead to being fired'. Watkins also equated teachers who 'do racist things' with pedophiles, during an inflammatory statement that her colleagues were forced to listen to. She said: ''If you're not evolving into...

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is signing a bill aimed to protect women’s sports — a move that comes at a time the left pushes to allow biological males who say they are female to compete against – and with – biological girls. “In Florida, girls and going to play girls sports and boys are going to play boys sports,” DeSantis said Tuesday to applause. In April, the Florida legislature passed a measure preventing transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports at both the high school and college levels. DeSantis is signing the measure into law Tuesday during...

More tags bring fuller picture of movements off shore The total number of great white sharks detected along the Cape has ballooned over the last few years as researchers continue to tag more of the apex predators each summer season. Going back to 2013, there were only 11 individual sharks detected by the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy off the Massachusetts coast, according to archived data from its new white shark logbook. Then jumping ahead seven years to 2020, the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy detected 118 individual sharks last year. The total number of recorded shark detections has also climbed at...

No, this isn’t a joke.Edward Luttwak, the distinguished Israeli-American strategist and public intellectual, tweeted the following this morning:11 Chinese universities teach Greek and Latin. Another 20 seek staff to so as well. Back in the US, the Princeton CLASSICS department has just eliminated the Latin or Greek requirement “to address systemic racism”. Truly racist say I. Why not just end it ? Jobs await in 中国The Chinese characters at the end mean “Middle Kingdom.”Princeton created an uproar by ditching the requirement for classics majors to learn Greek or Latin. That shouldn’t be a surprise: In 2017 Harvard eliminated the music...

Dwayne Haynesworth’s auto repair shop in Spring Lake, N.C., was repeatedly attacked by vandals, who smashed windows and spray-painted racist graffiti on cars, including swastikas, “KKK,” and a picture of a klan hood. Someone even painted Please leave” on a car. Haynesworth is black. The attacks went on for three weeks before Haynesworth decided to install security cameras. The very next day, May 25, he caught the two culprits on video. Neither wore klan hoods nor even MAGA hats. The video captured two teen-aged boys, both black. Last month Viterbo University student Victoria Unanka claimed she was the victim of...

There are many ways the media can misinterpret what you say. They can deliberately misinterpret you. They can accidentally misinterpret you. And then there’s Michael Flynn. Donald Trump’s former National Security Advisor was speaking at the “For God & Country Patriot Roundup” — a three-day conference heavy on the conspiracy theories and light on other stuff like reason and sanity. Flynn was asked a simple question by a man who described himself as “a simple Marine” and immediately sent media tongues wagging from sea to sea. The Marine asked why “what happened in Myanmar can’t happen here.” “No reason. I...

An Unloving Unnecessary Monstrous Interpretation Of Matthew 7:13-14 By JAG May 30, 2021 Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." Humans put forth their own interpretation of Matthew 7:13-14 and their own interpretation has consequences. Their own interpretation of Matthew 7:13-14 also tells us what they think God is like in His nature. The interpretation of Matthew 7:13-14 presented by the...
