Gov. Ron DeSantis Signing Landmark Bill to Protect Women’s Sports

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is signing a bill aimed to protect women’s sports — a move that comes at a time the left pushes to allow biological males who say they are female to compete against – and with – biological girls.

“In Florida, girls and going to play girls sports and boys are going to play boys sports,” DeSantis said Tuesday to applause.

In April, the Florida legislature passed a measure preventing transgender athletes from participating in women’s sports at both the high school and college levels. DeSantis is signing the measure into law Tuesday during an event at Trinity Christian Academy in Jacksonville, Florida.

As Breitbart News reported at the time, “the state House had earlier approved the bill, but it did not advance in the Florida Senate. Ultimately, the ban was made part of a popular charter school bill and was passed by a vote of 23-16 in the Senate, reported the News Service of Florida.”

While far-left Democrats have falsely dismissed such measures as discriminatory — Florida State Sen. Victor Torres (D) described it as a bill which will “destroy the lives of those children and their futures” — the bill itself simply makes an individual’s “biological sex” on a birth certificate the prime factor in determining if an individual is eligible to play on a female sports team.

This is about sports and having competitive advantage and having the ability to compete,” she said, adding that the measure is meant to aid women, giving them the opportunity “to participate, to get scholarships, to excel with other women of like strength and capability.”

The local Miami media, I predict, will erupt in anger and rage.

Nikki Fried, the only statewide elected Demon Rat, will get LOTS of ink as she attacks the governor.

And lawsuits from “civil rights” groups will be applauded by the “news” industry. Maybe even See B.S. will send a “journalist” to stalk DeSantis.

Which only makes logical and biological sense.

And kids who’s whacked parents refuse to put their sex on their birth certificate well be precluded from participating in boys’ or girls’ sports. And that’s ok. Nobody said life was fair.

Kristi, that could have been your headline if you had not bowed to your RINO bosses.

I tend to think it is too broad.

Perhaps it should only apply to sports at the officially competitive level between individuals or educational institutions.

I’m not sure the ban should apply to tennis - neither Billie Jean King or Bobby Riggs had an advantage due to their inherent gender.

Note that I believe that it is totally improper to provide sex hormones to children under age 18 in an attempt to change biological gender.

Trying to destroy women’s sports is one of the serious red pills that’s going to change a lot of Democrat women voters

For my dear wife who is a liberal and a medical social worker in the city of San Francisco this vaccine garbage has been a real red pill for her she sees how evil the Democratic Party is and gestapo like they are

The other big red pill out here in California and other states to spend these ridiculous shut downs mask mandates and all the other garbage associated with this communist plot known as COVID-19

Gavin gruesome Newsom is getting impeached and will be convicted on this basis despite him throwing around billions of free dollars that he just got from the federal government

I really don’t have a problem with girls playing on boys teams, if there is no girls’ team available, and they can make the team. Examples” Little League baseball, high school football, and even college sports. Again, only if a female alternative is not available.

The major problem is when a biological male wants to play on a girls’ team. Girls sports and Title IX would cease to exist.

Can you imagine biological men playing collegient softball? Eventually there would be no biological women able to make the team or play.

Except...Billie Jean King was 29 years old...Bobby Riggs was 55.

Essentially, she was playing a senior citizen. Billie Jean King vs. any other 29 year old professional male tennis player would have gotten smoked.

High School or College girls playing men the same age will not have a chance.

Don’t say “biological boys or girls”. That implies their ARE non- biological boys or girls. There are not. Reject the tranny nonsense, full stop.

Point out how many “records” are being set by males competing in female sport competitions.

LOL. There are high school men who could beat Serena easily. The top 200 ranked men in tennis would beat any of the top 200 women.

As a matter of history, Billie Jean was 29 and Riggs 55--a 26 year age difference. This wasn't a battle of the sexes, but more of age. Riggs had beat a 30 year Margaret Court earlier. In 2013, Andy Murray responded to a Twitter user who asked whether he would consider challenging Serena Williams, saying, "I'd be up for it. Why not?" Williams also reacted positively to the suggestion, remarking "That would be fun. I doubt I'd win a point, but that would be fun."

FC Dallas under-15 boys squad beat the U.S. Women's National Team in a scrimmage 5-2.
