Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Democratic socialists brigade wants to turn New York City far-left — from the ground up. The Democratic Socialists of America-NYC is pushing to put up or back a slate of City Council candidates who, if elected, would create a “socialist caucus.” The overwhelmingly Democratic council is vulnerable next year to the left-of-left push with 35 out of 51 council seats up for grabs due to term limits. Only 16 council members can run for re-election. The strategy is detailed in a 13-page “tasks and perspectives” strategic planning document that will be reviewed by DSA members this week....

President Trump on Monday claimed he would win the presidential election if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi actually attempted to use impeachment as an option to block his eventual Supreme Court nominee from being confirmed to the seat vacated by the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Over the weekend, after it was announced that Ginsburg had passed away on Friday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., vowed that a Trump nominee to the Supreme Court to fill her vacancy “will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.” In response, Pelosi, D-Calif., in an interview, would not rule...

What are the odds of a meteorite striking your vehicle? In 1938, one unlucky Illinois resident found out. Edward McCain of Benld, Illinois, drove a decade-old Pontiac coupe that he kept safely stored in his garage, which was a small wooden building with a tar paper roof. Well-worn ruts in the dirt floor marked the exact spot where he parked his car every day for years. Then, on September 29, 1938, by sheer cosmic chance, a speeding space rock tore through the roof of McCain's garage before burrowing itself into his Pontiac. That same year, Ben Hur Wilson of the...

Strap In for the Ginsburg Riots, Kids So, how was your weekend? The news of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing on Friday certainly ratcheted up the 2020 crazy by several orders of magnitude, didn’t it? I was heading out to meet some friends when I saw the news on Twitter and my first thought was, “This might be the last time I can get out and have fun before ‘peaceful protests’ begin again.” The lefties wasted little time in confirming my suspicion that RBG’s death was going to do the seemingly impossible: make them even more unhinged. The...

Born out of World War II’s devastation to prevent the scourge of conflict, the United Nations marked its 75th anniversary Monday with an appeal from Secretary-General António Guterres to preserve the longest period in modern history without a military confrontation between the world’s most powerful nations. The U.N. chief told the mainly virtual official commemoration that “it took two world wars, millions of deaths and the horrors of the Holocaust for world leaders to commit to international cooperation and the rule of law,” and that commitment produced results. “A Third World War — which so many had feared — has...

The newest federal lab gives the CIA and its officers the unprecedented ability to make money off inventions that come from within the agency. America’s most famous spy agency has a major competitor it can’t quite seem to beat: Silicon Valley. The CIA has long been a place cutting-edge technology is researched, developed, and realized—and it wants to lead in fields like artificial intelligence and biotechnology. However, recruiting and retaining the talent capable of building these tools is a challenge on many levels, especially since a spy agency can’t match Silicon Valley salaries, reputations, and patents. The agency’s solution is...

It looks like the harbingers Dr. Robert Epstein had warned the country about regarding liberal Big Tech’s influence in elections is coming true. Big Tech giant Facebook informed the Media Research Center that it would be partnering with the nonpartisan digital encyclopedia Ballotpedia and the radical left-wing organization Democracy Works to help formulate the online platform’s 2020 election strategy. What makes this partnership so damning is that Democracy Works in particular has been heavily funded with millions collectively by at least six liberal organizations between 2012 and 2019. Also concerning is that Big Tech giant Google is also working with...

He'd drunk 11 cans of Stella at neighbour's BBQKnife-wielding Craig Winwood has been jailed after threatening to stab police officers during a three-and-a-half hour siege. The 35-year-old had drunk 11 cans of Stella when he locked his partner outside their Norton home - and refused to open the door for police. He threatened to baseball bat anyone who entered the property and brandished a knife. But when police cut a hole in the door the defendant eventually passed two knives through before leaving the property to end the stand-off. Now Winwood - who has 21 previous convictions for 61 offences...

In the murky waters of the Strait of Malacca, about 90 miles south of Phuket, Thailand, four divers discovered a World War II submarine that was scuttled 77 years ago, now teeming with marine life. The wreckage, believed to be the USS Grenadier, was located last October by divers Jean Luc Rivoire, Lance Horowitz, Benoit Laborie and Ben Reymenants, the team announced this month. Over the subsequent six months, the men — one of whom, Reymenants, assisted in the 2018 rescue of the boys’ soccer team that was trapped in a cave in northern Thailand — completed six carefully planned...

Holy crap if true. On his show today, Rush Limbaugh – who sounds better than he has in months, in my opinion – told his audience that he has been told that the main reason why Creepy Uncle McWifeMolester doesn’t want to release a list of potential Supreme Court nominees is less complex than we might have imagined. According to Rush, that reason is that the name at the top of the list is that of the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial looooooooooooser, Stacey Abrams. Despite having lost that election by well over 50,000 votes, Abrams has since spent her time parading...

MOLALLA, Ore. (Reuters) - Nicole West steered her bulldozer through the smoldering forest, pushing logs into the underbrush and away from the wildfires ripping through Oregon's Cascade Mountains. Her border collie, Oink, rode shotgun as West and a volunteer crew raced to clear a fire line. Behind West, on the front lines of the 136,000-acre (55,000-hectare) Riverside fire, two young men pulled a water tank behind their pickup truck, struggling to douse the flames. These are the men and women of the "Hillbilly Brigade" - about 1,200 in all who came together this past week to fight the state’s biggest...

A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry protested the US ban on products produced by slave labor calling it "a naked act of bullying." The U.S. Policy places limits on importing cotton, apparel, hair products, and other goods from companies reasonably believed to be engaging in slave labor in China. The US restrictions were in response to reports that Xinjiang, China's westernmost province, is home to over 1,000 concentration camps where as many as 3 million Muslims are imprisoned and forced to produce the cited merchandise. The reports also contain tales of indoctrination, torture, rape, forced sterilization, and slavery. Chinese...

It might be a year or longer before we're able to safely go to theaters again, infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci told actor Jennifer Garner in a recent Instagram Live conversation. "When are we going to be able to sit in a theater and watch our favorite performers up on stage again?" Garner asked Dr. Fauci, who replied, "I think it's going to be a combination of a vaccine that has been around for almost a year and good public health measures." Fauci admits that there are still a lot of variables, including the strength of the vaccine. You...
