Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem Lambs, Sheep, and Shepherds. Genesis 22 Abraham Tested 22 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!” “Here I am,” he replied. 2 Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.” 3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for...

A US citizen who allegedly refused to quarantine and instead went on a pub crawl in a Bavarian town — sparking a COVID-19 outbreak — has been named as a 26-year-old Florida woman who thanked her co-workers for going to her “rona party,” according to a report. Yasmin Adli, who works at a hotel resort for US forces stationed in Germany, had been awaiting test results after a jaunt to Greece when she partied in Garmisch-Partenkirchen – although she already had a sore throat, the Daily Mail reported. She allegedly texted several of her co-workers who had partied with her...

The Big East Conference in a "woke" moment has surrendered to sports peer pressure and decided to sew patches with the letters "BLM" on the men's and women's basketball teams for this season. ---SNIP--- If one takes the individual Catholic schools' mission statements seriously, one will discover that the BLM organization is antithetical to the Christian values, ideals, morals, and philosophy of the schools.

Industrial policy that uses tariffs and subsidies to pick economic winners is once again in vogue among intellectuals. The rationale is to prevent China from "dominating" the global market with its subsidies while boosting American jobs and manufacturing. While I believe it's unwise to mimic China's policies to tamp down the danger of its authoritarianism, I'm amazed at cynics who support such policies but make no effort to adopt a serious strategic plan to achieve this goal. To see why, look no further than their sudden conviction that the New Deal-era U.S. Export-Import Bank, Uncle Sam's official export credit agency,...

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced he will furlough himself and his entire staff on Wednesday, in the midst of a $9 billion loss in revenue. Last month, Mayor Bill de Blasio warned the NYC that he may be forced to lay off as many as 22,000 local government employees in October due to billions in sales tax and other sources of city revenue lost during the global coronavirus pandemic. Fortunately, that plan was put on hold.

September 17, 2020 Thursday of the Twenty-fourth Week in Ordinary Time Reading 1 1 COR 15:1-11 I am reminding you, brothers and sisters,of the Gospel I preached to you, which you indeed received and in which you also stand.Through it you are also being saved,if you hold fast to the word I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. For I handed on to you as of first importance what I also received:that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures;that he was buried;that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures;that he appeared to Cephas,...

Cities across the country suffered dramatic increases in homicides this summer. The spikes were remarkable, suddenly appearing and widespread, although often concentrated in disadvantaged neighborhoods. This year is on track to be the deadliest year for gun-related homicides since at least 1999. The homicide spikes began in late May. Before May 28, Chicago had almost the same number of homicides as in 2019. Then, on May 31, 18 people were murdered in Chicago—the city’s most violent day in six decades. Violence continued through the summer. July was Chicago’s most violent month in 28 years. As of Sept. 1, murder is...

Following a number of Antifa-related websites, twitter feeds, and authors. Here’s the plan: 1. Elect DA’s in major cities that’ll immediately drop chargers against rioters. Set no bail for criminals. This renders police useless in these cities because it becomes a catch and release system. 2. Use spike strips to shut down interstate traffic. 3. Set wildfires to create more chaos why media will blame global warming and/or Trump. 4. If any civilians die, a small price to pay to overthrow a fascist regime. They’re all guilty for existing in such a society. 5. Target LEOs at home where they...

Netflix, the video streaming giant, is in hot water with at least some segments of the American public because of a French film it is currently showing called “Cuties” (“Mignonnes” in the original French). The film is about a group of 11-year-old girls in Paris who form a team to enter a dance competition. But this isn’t ballet or jazz. It’s twerking. The initial negative reaction was to promotional images Netflix used: the four young girls posed provocatively in their clingy, midriff-baring tops and tight shorts. But once people watched the film, shock turned to outrage. During a performance, the girls...

City officials say Minneapolis has ended lease negotiations for a new temporary headquarters for the 3rd Precinct police station which was burned down earlier this year. In August, a council committee had agreed to pursue an agreement for a space along Hiawatha Avenue which used to house a printing company. However, some residents of the neighborhood pushed back, saying the process was rushed and didn't give them enough time to weigh in on the temporary police station. And the council agreed to a delay. A city spokesperson said the two parties have reached an impasse and will not pursue further...

It’s Throwback Thursday, and what better day to look back on some of Joey’s past Bidenisms. This gem has always been a personal favorite, it’s from a Boston Marathon bombing memorial in 2014 when Old Joe told the people of Boston that it “ was worth it.” “To those quote ‘survivors,’ My God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth… It was worth it. I mean this sincerely…” Of course Biden apologists enthusiasts claim this was taken out of context, which it wasn’t. Unless you consider the way Joey normally speaks to be “out of context” which...

From 8-1-2020. Way back in time, almost 12,500 years ago, the first canines were becoming domesticated. Through toil and hardship, people had earned the trust of our now beloved best friends. The symbiotic relationship between dog and woman was very groundbreaking, as humans had never been this close to an animal before. Humans would provide shelter and care for the dogs, and in turn, the dogs would hunt and fetch firewood for humans. The reason I am detailing this history for you is so everyone understands the importance of the events that took place all these years ago. According to...

On the morning of September 17, 1895, in the presence of the British and American consuls, seven perpetrators of a Chinese massacre of western Christian missionaries were beheaded at Foochow. Anticipating the better-known Boxer Rebellion by four years, the Kucheng Massacre (there are many other transliterations of “Kucheng”) was likewise a response to the Celestial Empire’s frustrating second-class status as against European interlopers. Christian missionaries had been a point of friction in China for decades. Though their rights to proselytize had been guaranteed in a hated treaty dictated to China by force of arms, they often met resentment or worse...
